I’m the founder of an online platform for parents with young children. They can get quick answers from other parents regarding parenting. It’s both a social and e-commerce platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Informatics Commerce Inc?

We needed someone to help us infuse the social networking part with an e-commerce platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their president did some research and told us the best way to achieve our goals within our limited budget. We built the social media part with Angular and JavaScript per his suggestion. Informatics Commerce Inc developed and designed the e-commerce from scratch on Magento. We haven’t gone live yet because the social aspect from our side is still under development.

The president was my point of contact and he communicated with his resources.

We heard about him on Meetup. We went to his office, talked about the project, and he gave us really good ideas. We felt comfortable having him help us.

We started working together in 2015 and the work is ongoing.

People who tested it say it’s really good. They said the whole user experience has been great.

How did Informatics Commerce Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was very good. He called me nearly every day and we used text and Skype as well. He kept me informed of what was going on. He gave me a list of project milestones that we checked off when they were complete.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They made good suggestions of the best way to get it done within our budget.

No, it was great.

If you want to enhance your e-commerce website or implement functionality, they are a great partner. Customizing your website is what they do best.

Texas Hookah is a hookah and shisha retailer that sells products around the world and works with the top brands in the industry.

For what projects/services did your company hire Informatics Commerce Inc, and what were your goals?

We had an old HTML based website and wanted to convert to Magento 2 E-Commerce Website. We needed to move all products, sales history, customers, and everything over manually with the new website along with a complete overhaul after 14 years of the same website.

How did you select Informatics Commerce Inc and what were the deciding factors?

They were local in Houston and had Magento experience. Needed some one that we could get hold of on call whenever we had a question or concern.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Developed a new Magento platform, were informed of the different hosting options, went through on design elements on how we wanted it to look, went through the features we wanted, went through marketing strategies, then went through each product detail and transferring of all information from old website to new.

Worked with the owner directly.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Setup Google Analytics and measured the analytics and site traffic has increased along with sales after the new development.

Used BaseCamp for communication and had direct line as well for questions. Communication was point on as that was the main reason we wanted to go with a local web developer. Everything was accomplished along the timeline given.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Definitely the communication and speed of fixing issues that we saw in the final testing period.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Overall we are very happy we picked this company. Only improvement would be in communication once an issue is fixed. We always had to ask if a certain issue got fixed and were told it was done already but just wanted to get followup via email that it was done so we cold mark it off our list of things needing to be done.
