Magento 1 had a number of securities issues and support was being discontinued so we needed to migrate to Magento 2.

What were your goals for this project?

To upgrade the look and feel of the website while increasing the stability and security of the site.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We put out requests for proposals online and got a handful of responses. We selected Infigic after they assured us they had extensive experience migrating from Magento 1 to Magento 2. Infigic also claimed to have the programming expertise to do the custom programming we required to make our website function.

We partnered with Infigic to create the design of the website and generated a detailed Scope of Work. Infigic was responsible to executing the vision and creating a functional, secure website.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The impact on our business has been dramatic- Our sales have been cut in half! The website does not function as described in the Scope of Work.

Feedback from our clients has been terrible-

  • "you should definitely fire your IT contractor,"
  • "This new site is not as user friendly as before,"
  • etc.

There are direct quotes from our clients nearly 2 months after the new site was launched. The project has been a total catastrophe and is threatening the very existence of the business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Infigic spends a lot of time communicating with us as clients. At first, I thought this was positive but it became more clear over time that the constant communication was because they didn't have any ideas or confidence to move forward with anything on their own.

I believe they also use this tactic to cover their asses later by saying "you were involved in the process and signed off on (fill in the blank)," as a way to not take responsibility for the non-functioning website.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am most impressed by how Infigic fails to take responsibility for delivering on what they promised. Their ability to come up with excuses and point fingers rather than come up with solutions is second to none.

Are there any areas for improvement?

This project has been a complete and utter failure. I understand that there will probably be some problems and bugs that need to be fixed with any major project.

But, when you couple Infigic's incompetence and poor execution on the original project with their unwavering commitment not to accept and correct the problems they have created, it leads to a horrible result. A result that is so bad that it threatens the very existence of the business Infigic was hired to help.

The delivery of the project has definitely met our expectations considering our accelerated time frame. The stakeholders of the project are pleased with the outcome and impressed with their customer focus and corporate standards.

Though we used Slack to manage workflows as we had opted for a remote resource, they also used PM tools to monitor & track the project task.Their communication and scheduling was excellent. The team member allocated to our project was attentive and proactive to our requirements and adhered to the timeline outlined.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They work with a wide variety of developers in various roles, which helps in tailoring them to our needs. We will continue to partner with them because they’re responsive and produce great work. We also found this model of remote resourcing very cost effective.

Though we received daily updates of the tasks done as per assignment, we would have appreciated a detailed report. Other than that I don’t recall any bottlenecks.

We worked with Infigic in phases, the first was to apply UX [user experience] screens to an open source platform and set up the marketplace application, then we created a distance-based fulfillment feature, and then they helped to convert the checkout to a one-page checkout.

I posted a job on Elance and evaluated multiple vendors via Skype interview. I selected based on affordability, review, rating, and professionalism.
