I'm producer at Rough Cut Entertainment, a media company which develops and promotes the titles of UK comic-book publishers Rough Cut Comics whose titles includes The Surgeon, Rose Black and Freedom Collective. We also produced comic-book spin-offs to movies such as Brian Yuzna's Society.

We acquired the services of Ideal Insight to produces a visual marketing strategy - a short-form trailer - for our TV pilot based upon the Rose Black graphic novel series.- to promote the series to potential buyers and to audiences for showcase TV festival platforms.
How did you select Ideal Insight and what were the deciding factors?
We had been recommended on a number of companies who could devise a trailer for our project and we selected on the basis of a company who had an understanding of the project's distinctive components and one which would meet the budget we had.

Ideal provided us with a detailed agenda of the production process in producing the trailer; and we had an initial discussion with the Project Manager and the creative partner who would produce the video. Discussion included what we wanted from the trailer; key scenes we needed to use and our idea of the finishing item.
Each step was carried out quickly and to details and I was left with total confidence through the entire process.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked initially with an Account Director who assigned us our Project Manager and an Editor who worked with both Sound and Visuals. The feedback process was first class at all times; and as such, the whole process moved quickly and efficently.

The final product definitely contributed to the sales of the project on vimeopro.

Ideal Insight provided an efficient time table of the production schedule; initially through their Account Manager who was the first port of call from our initial email. All future emails and phone call conversations were punctual and productive; and the schedule was deliberated over two zoom calls and a few further emails.
We didn't require too much explanation during production, but I am positive if we need, this correspondence would have been handled efficiently.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Everything always came down to the final product - and Ideal Insight delivered to us in spades.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I don't think there's very much - from my own personal experience of this production venture - I could suggest for improvement.

Oasis Loss Modelling Framework is a non-profit organisation, offering open-course software. My role as the Community, Marketing and Events Manager is to ensure our clients and the wider community are up to speed about current projects, provide them with engaging material and offer them a platform/website with relevant content they can use to make the best of our product, as well as bringing together organisations from various backgrounds (i.e. Insurance and Academia) to work together.

We wanted to create a 'Information Library' for our community to offer them a space where they can learn more about catastrophe modelling, which is not widely known and currently not covered at Universities.
The content ranges for beginners to advances, covering all aspects for those interested in pursuing a career in catastrophe modelling (Insurance), or learn more about specific topics (climate change), as well as getting to know key players in there market to engage with for future projects.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were looking for a professional organisation who understands how to create engaging content. After speaking to Ben Fathers, who shared a lot of material with us, we decided that IdealInsight would be a good fit due to their experience and quality of material.

At the kick-off meeting between IdealInsight and ourselves, we agreed on the best way of how to manage all content, given the health situation. We explain the outcomes and what we want to achieve with the videos, asked if a mix of pre-recoded videos and live recordings could be merged together but make them look professionally.
Ideal Insight explained the best way of collecting all material and took care of providing us with a platform where we could upload pre-recorded material as well as look at stuff they have produced. As we had to wait for some speakers to provide us with some files, Ideal Insight was able to work on 2-3 at the time, which was helpful and therefore the work spread over a couple of months, giving us time to review each recoding in detail.
At the end we were able to just simply download the files from the platform provided. Throughout the project, we did have a lot of changes but Ideal Insight ironed out all the issues we had.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with a total of 4 resources. We had an initial call with Ben, the Managing Director, to give him an overview about the project and if Ideal Insight is the right organisation to help us achieve our project goal. Then we had a dedicated Project Manager, Kate, who took care that all recordings were on one place, made sure we are on track and chased either side if anything was missing/or had to be changed.
Then we worked with two guys, See and Jack, who were responsible for the videos itself (they recoded the in-person ones and cut the videos to its final stage).
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We received a lot of positive feedback and are looking into growing the content over time. We do not track any visitors but are actively sharing the content with our community.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very efficient. We were constantly in touch, either side did their best to meet the deadlines and iron out any issues that occur during the project (i.e. name/title changes on the file, different angle of recording, or how to best highlight what had been said). We used email, Dropbox and Vimeo.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Flexibility. Due to Covid-19, we had to change our idea from having in-person recordings only to a mixture of Zoom/Skype recordings and in-person recordings. Ideal Insight was very professional, relaxed, and forthcoming to accommodate our needs and requirements.

We have been specified on several projects as a direct result of the video produced.

Our project was dependent on many factors, we were held up by various test results, this was caused by a third party. Ideal Insight were patient and reassured us that the project would be completed as soon as they had all relevant details and they were as good as their word.

For all of our projects, we usually start with giving the team a brief about the client, their business scenario and relations with our company. We then create a question bank for the interview. Ideal Insight's team then goes down to the shoot location with their crew (on our behalf) and conducts the interview. They are very flexible in terms of availability and even make arrangements for us to oversee the shoot via Zoom.

We have worked with multiple videographers in the team and all of them have been very professional. Our account director Nick is always helpful & accommodating to our needs.

We worked via the Account Manager with the creative team who were very accessible, and then with the team who placed the media and reported back

Road safety is often a hard topic to achieve engagement in, but the videos resulted in a high level of views and the cost to us per click through to our website was 0.02p which is excellent value.

The Account Manager was quick to respond and understood the unique stance of our organisation in that there were multiple stakeholders paying into the campaign who each required an input and bespoke feedback on the campaign

We appreciate their innovation and speedy knowledge gathering that produced excellent short social media films. They addressed different aspects of the overall campaign aim

We were able to afford a repeat of the campaign a year later, so the assets are still held in high regard and remain well received by the target audience. Feedback from stakeholders raised an unforeseen issue with one of the films but the company was quick to address this in order to achieve stakeholder satisfaction, so I cannot think of anything they should or could have done differently.

The video is a one-minute promotional video as well as 7 smaller videos of our premium spaces. We had initial discussions, then two shoot days, 3 rounds of edits and then the final video.

I worked with Nick to discuss what we wanted and Rob on the two days of filming. Both were very professional, understood what we wanted and were helpful to respond. They really delivered exactly what we wanted.

We have had some really good feedback from clients and competitors with regards to the product. We are having the video embedded into our website which enables us to quote our clients and include these videos. In the current climate, this helps us sell.

On completion of a funded sport based project for young wheelchair users, in partnership with another Not for Profit, we requested video content to consider how learning and impact could be shared beyond the lifetime of the project. The videos will feature on our website, social media and will compliment a webinar and PDF resources, aimed at encouraging, empowering and better equipping sports practitioners (PE teachers, community sports coaches, etc) to be able to deliver inclusive sport and inspiring young wheelchair users to participate in sport.

Filming dates were set and a discovery video call was had with the team coordinating the project and young people. Filming was relaxed and friendly, adapting to unexpected interruptions or noises. Communication after the event was efficient, open and in good time.

We worked with Nick in project management and Jack in production. Both were excellent to work with, efficient and great communication. Content was shared via Vimeo links and regular emails.

Nick and his team had a two-week brief to put together a compelling, visually-pleasing 4-minute corporate video for a last-minute conference we were attending. . We knew a two-week deadline was a big ask - but Ideal Insight worked night and day to meet the deadline - and even coped with some changes we wanted to make at the last minute.
