Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work as a CTO for an energy services company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Hirewell?
We were starting an aggressive ERP and human capital management (HCM) implementation program. As a result, I needed somebody that I could trust on my team that I could onboard very quickly with the knowledge and experience to be able to manage across multiple teams and multiple technology areas. That person also needs to bring the entire program together and execute on this pretty complex project.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Since there was a project management tool, an HR platform, and an ERP platform, I wanted somebody that’s going to be strong enough to manage all of those interdependencies and have the ability to manage the program across all disciplines. However, I didn’t have somebody like that in my company.
As a result, we hired Hirewell specifically for program management staffing services. We needed a strong program manager that had the knowledge and experience to handle a complex program. We approached them with a set of requirements we wanted for our candidates, and they came back with recommendations.
Then, we also brought in a second person through Hirewell — a training and change management consultant. That individual was focused on how we were going to package up our webinars and how-to videos, and everything else related to how we were going to teach all of our employees how to use the new systems that were deployed in January. That person moved on to another engagement, but we’re still using the materials he produced for us.

How did you come to work with Hirewell?
I met them at my prior company and the experience that I had working with them was very collaborative. Their ability to find not only the qualified resources but also people with the right culture fit and behaviors impressed me. That made them stand out from the crowd of recruiters that I've worked with.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent in the ballpark of $150,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement began in July 2020, and we continue to work with them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I've been able to talk to a couple of the candidates and interview them myself. We selected someone who’s still on the team today. He’s doing an outstanding job in his work.
I really appreciate the fact that they take time to understand not just the deliverables, but they look broadly at the kind of behaviors that are needed to be successful in the position we are looking for. Additionally, they spend time trying and understand my business. The team really puts an effort to understand the culture that we have within our organization.
They didn’t present around 50 resumes that I have to sift through the pile and figure out on my own. Instead, they have 1–2 candidates that they have spent some time understanding. I appreciate that they do that screening because it has saved me a tremendous amount of time. I have a lot of faith in them and confident that they think about the best interests of my company and my projects.
How did Hirewell perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve had an excellent project management workflow. They are able to meet incredibly aggressive timelines. Moreover, the quality of the training materials they've made has garnered positive feedback. They have done a great job of finishing things while performing high-quality results.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have great people and culture.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think they have any areas they can improve. I’m pretty happy with their work and it’s been a great experience.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be prepared to articulate your requirements, specifically the scope of the job as well as its culture and behavioral expectations. Spend as much time, if not more, making sure that you’re using Hirewell.
