XB is a mobile Android and iOS application that strives to connect the black community around Portland and the Pacific Northwest. The app highlights black owned businesses, brings people together local event listings, and functions as a medium to foster a sense of community. We worked with the XB team to help them design and launch the mobile app and admin dashboard.
Dealer Reserve
Dealer Reserve is a web-based platform for automotive dealerships to streamline their financing pipeline. We designed and delivered a high-quality product that generated the client their first sales within one month. We continue to work to optimize application performance, add features, and offer ongoing support. The product has been generating thousands of dollars in additional revenue for dealerships across the country.
Land Survey Records
Land Survey Records allows land surveyors to upload and sell their survey plans to both other surveyors and the public. The system contains millions of surveys and processes thousands of transactions every day. We played a role in the build of the new site that included UI/UX, development, and ongoing hosting and support.
Smart City Marketplace
Smart City Marketplace (SCMP) is forging the path towards city sustainability through the provision of smart technologies. SCMP is a two-sided marketplace for suppliers to generate additional revenue and cities to implement and finance large-scale smart technology projects.

I am the founder and CEO of Dealer Reserve. We offer financial information to automotive dealerships to maximize profits and save managers time in the process.
For what projects/services did your company hire Hilo Labs, and what were your goals?
We hired Hilo to develop for the custom software from start to finish and we are still using them for ongoing support and development.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
They were referred to us from the Ryerson DMZ start-up incubator program.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
They designed and developed all front-end, back-end and anyalytics used for the software. Their specialty in data collection will be a big asset moving forward.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I deal with two people. Matt is the owner and Connor is his employee.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to launch from concept to first customer in about 1.5 months which is unheard of. We quickly got to MVP status and continued building from there.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The thing I love about working with Hilo is they make suggestions as to how they think the product should evolve and consider for future investment/profitability. As an "automotive brain", sometimes I don't have all the answers from the tech side and having knowledgeable suggestions is great. Communication is done mostly via email, text, or phone.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They seem to be invested in my success. As mentioned before, they give great suggestions for future features. They added data collection at no charge because they knew it would be valuable. And most importantly, they get the job done right in a timely fashion.
A little more communication when it comes to the billing. Some months are shocking but we are working on that as we go. No major complaints.
With Hilo Labs' help, the client has successfully developed an MVP, and they continue to add the necessary improvements. The team proves capable of providing innovative solutions to problems while staying within budget. They've also shown tremendous dedication in ensuring a successful project.
