Web Design for Robotic Process Automation Company
"hello. really listens to their customers, are very transparent, and they're a great partner overall."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
In my previous position, I worked for a tech startup in the robotic process automation space. My role there was content marketing manager.
What challenge were you trying to address with hello.?
When I started, our biggest needs were to revamp our site and introduce new branding. We had been working with a different company to handle our web design needs, but they weren’t meeting our expectations and understand our brand’s needs. Because of this, we hired hello. to take over.
What was the scope of hello.'s involvement?
To start the project, hello. gave us recommendations for both web design and branding. Their branding support included creating various content assets, like our logo, brochures, white papers, flyers, and other items. They essentially became part of our in-house design team and worked with us to shift our brand to make it more modern, yet still familiar, with these materials.
For our site, they were involved in everything from creating the wireframes to executing the final product. Our users were getting lost within our site, so hello. helped us optimize our UX, working on the navigation, buttons, and overall layout of the pages.
What is the team composition?
We worked with between 2-3 people at hello.
How did you come to work with hello.?
After deciding we needed to hire a new company, we found hello. and they were fantastic from the beginning.
How much have you invested with them?
hello. was in another country with its own local currency, so it's hard for me to say. We had them on retainer. I wasn't the one that was managing the budget.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with hello. in February 2017. They continued working with the rest of my marketing team until the beginning of 2019, but I’m unsure of the exact timeline because I left the company.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
hello. basically rescued us and fixed everything the previous company did wrong. They optimized our site to solve the problems our users were facing, like not being able to fill out forms or finding the right buttons to click. The designs and branding they produced were very modern. Our UX and product design needs were completely met by them.
How did hello. perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team was great from a project management perspective. They were really on top of it. They paired us with a project manager who was very responsive and always available. If she couldn't take a call, she would get back to us immediately when she was available.
I never felt like we didn't know what was going on and there was always full transparency. If there was ever an issue when they couldn't make a deadline, they would always let us know. That didn't happen a lot, but the reasons were typically because of the extra changes that we wanted last minute.
What did you find most impressive about hello.?
They really personalize everything to us. They try to get what you want and accommodate your requests. Their team also brought some of their own flair into the mix, which gave customers like us food for thought. They still keep in mind what we want and what's important to us. They really listen to their customers, are very transparent, and they're a great partner overall.
Are there any areas hello. could improve?
It would’ve been nice if they offered some content writing teammates or resources. Although we had our own in-house individuals to handle the micro-copy and messaging, it’d be great if they could offer some of those services in the future since they have so much expertise in that area.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be detailed in your briefs and communicate. Part of the reason we didn’t have to make many revisions is because of how clearly we explained our goals and expectations. Avoid any grey areas because, even though their designers were great, there is always room for confusion. If you don’t like something, be honest about what direction you’d rather go in. Their job is to make you happy and they’ll do that.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a startup in Tel-Aviv providing software for retail. I am a founder and chief product officer.
What challenge were you trying to address with hello?
We hired them to do our branding, design our website, and work in presentation design and webpages.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Most of their work is in design across our brand. They helped us define different aspects of the brand, the logo, the color palette, and fonts. They translated all of our ideas into a solid brand, and they had a hand in all of our materials. Now that the branding and website are done, we're working on some products with them.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a team of at least three or four. One was the main designer for all major tasks, and we also interacted with a project manager and a consultant. For the product work, we also work with a UX designer and a graphic designer.
How did you come to work with hello?
When we hired them, we were located very near each other. We spoke with them and asked for references. Based on those interactions, we felt comfortable working with them.
How much have you invested with them?
I think we've spent about $20,000–$30,000 USD.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them around January 2019, and we still work together.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We've received a lot of compliments and good feedback from people we work with, and several companies have asked us who did the brand work for us. We're happy to recommend them.
How did hello. perform from a project management standpoint?
They're really good managers, and they're very open about when they'll deliver the work. Their initial cost estimates are good, and the bills are very close to their projections. Some of the deliverables needed to be delivered quickly, and they've met some very close timelines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to provide a complete solution that covers branding, the website and presentation design was critical. It’s great to work with a single vendor who satisfies all of our needs. Their costs were good, especially compared to other companies we considered.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything specific that they could improve. They take feedback, and they listen to requirements. They've served all of our needs so far.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear about your needs and what you hope to achieve. Have an opinion about what the design should look like, and be as communicative and responsive as possible. That will help you make the most of their time.

UX/UI Design for Data Restoration Android App
"The main reason we really enjoy working with Porat Shalev is based, first of all, on friendship."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO and co-founder of Baloota. We’re located in Tel Aviv, Israel. We specialize in mobile apps. We have an Android app called Dumpster Recycle Bin. It’s like a recycle bin you have for your personal computer, but for Android devices. With the app, you can restore files, videos, or images you accidentally deleted. The app has been publicly available on Google Play since September 2012. We have since reached about 20 million downloads and we have 2.5 million active users each month.
What challenge were you trying to address with Porat Shalev Co.?
We used to have an internal designer working with us but he left. We then started working with someone remote, but we weren’t very satisfied.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We worked with Ohad [Co-Founder, Porat Shalev Co.] from Porat Shalev. He helped us for over a year. He’s our UX/UI expert, helping us all the way from planning new features, solving problems in the app, planning the funnels and doing the actual work with our Android development team. He worked with graphical software like Photoshop. They do the user experience planning and the graphical design. His involvement is mainly around the UX/UI. He was super professional with what were looking for. He has vast knowledge in mobile and specifically in Android development. We are still working together. We keep changing and adding new features to the app. We’re going to start a new app in a few weeks with them.
What is the team dynamic?
I worked only with Ohad [Co-Founder, Porat Shalev Co.]. I don’t know how many people were working on the team.
How did you come to work with Porat Shalev Co.?
My partner who founded Baloota with me met Ohad at this restaurant. He was sitting at a table next to him. He started talking with him about graphic design and afterwards gave him a call. We decided to do a small pilot project to see if it would work well for both of us. It has.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in September 2016 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The majority of the changes that Ohad implemented were very successful. He made changes on the screen shots and the graphics on our Google Play page. Google lets you do experiments and measure the performance. We saw 10% more users were installing the app after the changes he made.
How did Porat Shalev Co. perform from a project management standpoint?
We’re using the same project management tool that we use for our company. We work in Agile, and for project management we use Trello. We use connected tools and a design board and work based on that. We communicate with messenger apps and emails. We work primarily remote, but a lot of times we will meet and work together as well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The main reason we really enjoy working with Porat Shalev is based, first of all, on friendship. Ohad is a really pleasant person to work with. He’s super professional. I had a lot of experience with designers that were more in love with the art of designing and less with the practical point of the design. Ohad is really the perfect mix. He’s very artistic and creative, but he knows the importance in serving the business and working to accomplish the business goals we have. That’s the main reason we love working with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There are times where I would want more hours and his attention. He has many clients and sometimes I ask for help and he can’t because he has several clients. In my point of view, I would want him more to myself. That’s not a point he could improve in. We’re extremely happy working with him.
