I’m the CEO of a SaaS software company located in Oxnard, California. Our software is an all-in-one software for service-based businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hashmaker Solutions?

They helped us develop our web dashboard and mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hashmaker Solutions has essentially built our whole site for us. It’s cross-platform, so it works for iOS and Android. Also, if we need to do something, they can scale up and down the development team.

Initially, they helped us pick a dashboard. We sat down with them and talked about the features we wanted in there. They went ahead and did a mockup of everything, including the UI/UX. Then, they developed it from scratch with Angular.

We incorporated our stats and a built-in calendar. We did some email and online booking platform integrations and a time management module so employees could clock in and out. We also built job, estimates, invoices, and payments modules within the software.

What is the team composition?

We have an entire team with about 12 people. We have the application front- and backend developers, UI specialists, a QA team, and a project manager.

Another friend referred them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $300,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2018, and it’s an ongoing project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We measure their success by interacting with people that use the software, and they’ve done an excellent job at making it UI-friendly and easy to navigate.

Also, the UI team ensured that the product was ready before we pushed it into production, so there haven’t been any significant bugs, and all the issues have been fixed instantly.

How did Hashmaker Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication is good. They’re out in Pakistan, but we have team meetings, and it’s easy to communicate with them. The budget has gone a little bit over, but it’s been pretty close. We’ve actually gotten a couple of features under budget. Overall, we don’t have anything negative to say about them.

We use GitHub, Jira, and Slack. We also have conference calls either through Skype or Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re able to easily scale production up and down as it’s needed. If we want to add a new feature and have a really tight deadline, they’re able to make it happen. Additionally, we’ve shopped around, and the prices are great. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t really know how they could improve. They’ve done a pretty good job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you’re prepared, know what you want to develop, and set realistic expectations. Some people want things done, but they don’t understand how much time it actually takes to develop them. Therefore, as long as you have everything prepared and the team knows what they need to do, there shouldn’t be anything that slows down the progress.

I’m a principal associate at Cognitive Group, a company that provides cognitive engineering, which basically combines system engineering and human factors.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hashmaker Solutions?

We had a new client in the banking industry who needed us to create a loan origination solution. Unfortunately, one of our key engineers was unwell, so we didn’t have enough people. We needed someone to fill the gap and provide software engineering.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hashmaker Solutions help us with software engineering. We always have work for them. Each project starts with us conducting a demo and showing them a prototype. We would explain the functionalities we needed, and they’d deduce what we would need to complete the requirements. We build each feature one by one instead of all at once. Other than the specs, we also give them a unit testing scenario for each function. Our work is usually divided into phases. 

What is the team composition?

We work with 3–4 people, but we only directly communicate with Zain (Co-Founder & CEO).

How did you come to work with Hashmaker Solutions?

I found them on Upwork. We wanted to test their skills, so we first gave Hashmaker Solutions a trial project that was pretty challenging and lasted for over a week. The team was very successful and impressed some of our internal teammates, who were initially skeptical. They just jumped in and did a great job, so we hired them to support our ongoing projects with some of our clients.

We’ve spent $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in September 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s been a good experience. We work on each feature and function one by one, so there’s not much back and forth. The team also does a great job with unit testing. 

How did Hashmaker Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is good, and we’re very happy with them. The team is highly agile. We use Google Meet to have video calls every morning, and we also use WhatsApp. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Overall, we have a great relationship, and I feel that they’re genuinely a part of our team. Their communication skills are good, and they have the same priorities as us, so they understand what I like. Overall, Hashmaker Solutions’ services are perfect. I’m thrilled to give them high ratings because they deserve it, but I also want to keep them to myself.

Make sure to maintain good communication with them by developing a formal network.

I’m the owner of a reading app.

What challenge were you trying to address with #Maker Solutions?

I needed help with app development. I needed it to be student-friendly and engaging. The teachers needed to also be able to access all of the text codes and give feedback.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped me build my app from start to finish. First, I started off designing and giving them my ideas for what I wanted. Then, they built the whole app for mobile and desktop accessibility. It’s geared towards elementary to middle school children and English learners. There’s also a suggestion room where students can suggest books. Additionally, they added notifications, and I have access to data on which text codes are being used.

I work with Zain (Owner).

How did you come to work with #Maker Solutions?

I was referred to them by mutual contacts and the price point was great compared to other quotes I got. They understood my vision and were able to put it together.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2016, and we went live in April 2017. Our work is ongoing with updates.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

This issue system with education apps is that it’s hard to get everyone using them right away. We use it in my county, but in other areas teachers are using another solution to get used to remote learning. In my district, the teachers like it a lot, though.

How did #Maker Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very responsive and willing to get tasks done in a timely manner. There was one instance where the team had to re-do 6 text codes because Apple upgraded their iPad software. They were very good about making sure everything was redone and working properly. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Designing with them was great. Whatever I asked them to do, whether it's collecting data or adding a feedback feature, they always said yes. They’re really positive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be timelier with their communication about what’s happening on their end, but it’s not a huge issue.

Working with Muhammad and his team is pure joy. We've hired hundreds of freelancers over the past 15 years, and Muhammad is the best of the best. A true first class individual.

We had a complex project that was near-complete when we contacted Muhammad. He very quickly grasped the requirements. He and his team quickly became acclimated with the coding architecture & environment, and went straight to work.

Whenever we need quick consulting for new innovations, we always turn to Muhammad first. He usually has some insight or previous experience, and if he doesn't, he will quickly research and get familiar. His advice is always sound and research driven. He's a persistent optimist and always looks for a 'possible' way. They were an invaluable resource to our team.

Throughout the project, he was extremely responsive and communicative. We had a few zoom meetings to discuss issues, which allowed for quick resolution. They finished work on time and on budget.

I genuinely cannot recommend Muhammad and his team enough. You will be very glad with your decision to choose them. He has become our go-to guy, due to his expansive knowledge in many different modalities.

The most impressive element is the expertise of the team.

Personally and because we are a startup with little to no funds, it would be helpful to get weekly cost estimates or actuals so that I can plan ahead financially.
