I am the Founder and Managing Director of Aegis Health Solutions, which has launched a product Medicalwale.com. Medicalwale.com is a centralised ecosystem that provides integrated health solutions.
For what projects/services did your company hire Gten Consultancy Digital Pvt. Ltd., and what were your goals?
Gten Consultancy Digital Pvt. Ltd. is a one-stop tech partner of our company. All the systems were planned, designed, developed and maintained by Gten since May 2017. We did have an internal tech team, however it was managed by Gten managers only.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Gten was referred to us by one of the team members in Aegis and then after a detailed discussion we planned to provide them a small module to develop where they did an exceptional job and based on that we hired them as permanent vendor for projects and resources.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Gten started working on Doctor's App initially both Android and iOS native Apps and later they started working parallely on different modules such as - Saathi App (Patient Side App), PBIOMS (Pharmacy App), Night Owl App (Health Product delivery tracking App) and internal panels and systems to run all these Apps. All the Apps were developed in Native - Java / Kotlin and Objective C / Swift and backend was developed in PHP and Python.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
About 10 developers full time from Gten were always working in our office and others based on small module developments on case-by-case basis - whenever we wanted to expedite the development and launch it soon.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We saw a great surge and the orders increases by 160% as soon as we started few services. Yes, there were issues in initial lauch, however Gten team was helpful 24x7 in order to mitigate all the tech concerns that we had.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We have Redmine for project development sprints and we used slack and whatsapp for internal communication. All the invoices were mapped to deliverables and a discount on invoice if the delivery was not on time. Till date, we received one deliverable a few days after the commitment date and they were ready to discount that invoice.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The passion of each and every team member and willing to go above and beyond to make sure it is done the right way is what I really love about Gten. Moreover, the team does provide a sense of comfort, which I usually prefer as my entire organisation is dependent on the tech.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
While Gten team always fixed bugs ASAP, but there were some minor ones which I believe could have been avoided.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Ronak Optik is an optical trading company. We distribute brands like Police, Guess, and Chopard in India. I have multiple roles in the company, mainly managerial.
What challenge were you trying to address with GTen Consultancy?
The challenge was in terms of process streamlining and structure automation. We needed help identifying our gaps and which systems needed to be put into place.
What was the scope of their involvement?
GTen visited our office for 10 days and spoke to everyone in our team. They outlined the areas in which there was duplication or lack of work and where we could streamline processes, and then we discussed various system-oriented reports. Afterwards, we started executing those requirements either through software or systems.
We were were already using the SAP [System, Applications, and Products] system, which they streamlined for us. They also helped us look into Salesforce in terms of what kind of reports we needed within the platform, and what a sales module should look like based on our requirements. They helped us with the layout design, structure, and approval flow.
GTen also worked on the development of our company website based on the designs we provided.
What is the team composition?
We worked directly with Vaibhav, the owner of the company, who acted as project manager. I’m unsure who helped him in the background.
How did you come to work with GTen Consultancy?
We received a reference from a friend. Their company seemed the most promising and dedicated, so we gave them a first project which involved building a website for one of our brands. The project went well, so we had them develop the Ronak Optik website. The first website was only a small investment, but since they did such a good job, we decided to enter into a more serious engagement.
How much have you invested with them?
The first project cost ₹15,000 Indian rupees [U.S. $250]. The other website development project cost ₹50,000–70,000 [U.S. $750–$1,000], and the SAP project was ₹90,000 [$1,300]. The Salesforce project cost ₹100,000 [$1,500]. Altogether, we’ve spent around $10,000 in the past year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2016, and our website has been live for some time. The Salesforce project is still ongoing, but some modules have been completed. We continue to assign projects to them whenever we feel they can help us.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everyone has appreciated our main website. They’ve addressed all needed improvements, and we haven’t received any further suggestions.
The software optimization has been beneficial to our business. Things became much smoother for us after we streamlined the SAP system. Processes which used to take four or five days can now be done in two.
How did GTen Consultancy perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve given us good reports and insight into what we should be doing. The communication was done through phone, email, and in-person meetings at our office in Kolkata. Vaibhav visited our location for around 10 days and underwent a review process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve delivered what they committed to. They handled the coding work we needed excellently, and even provided support six months later. Other vendors in their area typically don’t offer this level of service.
They delivered what we asked for and did a wonderful job on the website.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When it came to the SAP project, the report delivery was delayed a bit, but the final output was good.
