ISU by Radhika Apte
Execution is challenging because the launch had multiple revelation stages, slowly unfolding the collection. And considering the millennials’ rapidly dropping attention span, it was crucial for us to come up with unique and creative ways to keep the audience engaged.
The pre-launch was heavily focussed on a referral program. We incentivised people into participating by offering exclusive access to the collection and placing an order, only if they followed the rules. This whole gamification helped us reach a new set of relevant audience.
During the launch, we carved out a plan to leverage Radhika's followers and convert them into our customers. To make this more impactful, we collaborated with a lot of influencers to reach a wider audience. As a lot of influential people were talking about our collection and genuinely loving it, our social validation increased and eventually got us more loyal customers.
Radhika has a massive follower base of 3.2Mn followers with an engagement rate of almost 4%. We were able to reach around .6Mn people just from her profile! Our influencer marketing was focussed on high engagement influencers with the follower’ range varying from 10,000 to 500,000, who helped us reach around .3Mn people.
Post launch has to be very strategically planned because most of our TG has been exposed to the collection. So we got to a lot of A/B testing with the ad designs, the messaging and the website banners to improve the over Conversion Rate. Along with this, we worked on various offers to acquire more first time buyers while scaling.
The focus on exclusivity during pre-launch helped us convert a lot of these leads into customers. Basically, the amalgamation of a solid launch, branding and acquisition strategy helped us acquire our customers with an impressive ROI and produce a solid case study for all fashion e-commerce brands out there.

We had to crack the user behavior of blue-collar workers to identify them on social media and target. It is easy said than done due to the secrecy and lack of data over the web on how they use the web. After some challenging research and data collection we have identified potential behaviors that we think might work with right tweaking.
We refined the current generic targeting to very specific audience on multiple channels based on our findings, we created user personas to further understand our target audience’s online psycho-graphic based on the campaigns that performed.
Once we understood how to reach the target audience we quickly started a/b testing the creatives, landing pages, and copies and understood that the best way to communicate the message out to the blue-collar workers was by customizing the creatives using the local language.
We were able to hit their target CAC of Rs 7.

Orobind - 0 to 5000 users within 48 hours
Orobind works on making it extremely easy for people to be healthy. By connecting people to trusted personal coaches through the apps, they make it possible for people to achieve their health goals and create healthier communities. Orobind has been acquired by HouseJoy, the leading home services provider after Orobind achieved breakeven within 1.5 years of their launch. With no budget, Orobind wanted us to help them plan their pre-launch and make it viral. The second challenge we tackled for Orobind was to increase the leads without increasing the marketing budget.
We did a targeted pre-launch campaign without any marketing budget and helped them acquire 5000 potential customers in 2 days of the launch. This immediately gave them a platform to test their idea as they were the first ones ever to provide personal fitness coaches at home using an app.
The challenge is to increase the number of leads while making sure that the quality remains or improves. We’ve worked with Orobind on a referral program that would benefit the current users to spread the word and gives the new customer a fair option to try the service.
- Prelaunch went viral and got them 5000 registrations within 2 days.
- The referral program was a big hit as well and it has increased their organic leads by 3x. With an average ticket of 7k per month it has helped in boosting their revenue by a minimum 25% month-on-month.
- We have improved their main landing page conversion rate by 2x. It went from 8% to almost 16%.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder and CEO at a website and e-commerce solutions company based in California. We help companies build modern, minimalist and elegant websites with WordPress and Shopify. We help companies clarify their product/service offerings with advanced website conversion strategies.
For what projects/services did your company hire Growth Hackers Digital, and what were your goals?
Build a lead generation automated growth engine.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I was looking for a company that had a large experience in lead generation. I wasn’t interested much in branding or brand awareness. What I wanted was traffic, leads and sales and that’s what Growth Hackers is all about.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
First, what they did was a full audit of our market, our existing strategies and a complete competitive analysis. They reverse engineered what our competitors were doing to leverage strategies that proved to work.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I mostly worked with 7 people in their team: their CEO, CMO, COO, a copywriter, a visual content creator, an advertiser and a data specialist.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The first couple of months was a lot of research, set up and strategizing. Execution really started the 3rd month of our collaboration because they wanted to make sure everything was ready before launching the campaigns. As soon as the campaigns were launched, we saw almost instant results with dozens of leads already coming to us during the first 2 weeks. After that, results kept improving because they kept optimizing their campaigns on a weekly basis. Our CPL (Cost per Lead) decreased month after month.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They use so many tools and I don’t think I know all of them. I know they were using Surfer SEO, HotJar, KissMetrics, UberSuggest, Photoshop, Slack, Trello and Sony Vegas but I’m sure they were using more internally. Communication is easy because they gave me access to their project management board so I could see the progress of my campaigns live. We also had a WhatsApp group and we were jumping on weekly calls as well.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
There is huge attention to detail and they took a lot of time learning about our brand and market. When I asked for revisions, the turnaround was fast and the quality was quite outstanding.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The communication was all online because they’re remote. It wasn’t such an issue because the collaboration went well but if they could open an office near my place, that would be awesome.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the product owner at Decathlon taking care of digital marketing efforts as well as content for Decathlon Blog. Decathlon is the largest sporting goods retailer in the world with over 1500 stores spread across 57 countries around the globe.
For what projects/services did your company hire Growth Hackers Digital, and what were your goals?
We first hired Growth Hackers to boost organic traffic to the blog. Even with a lot of content, we weren’t able to drive the desired amount of traffic to the blog to justify the time and effort put in. The goal with our engagement was to mainly improve the quality of the content on the blogs and improve traffic with SEO efforts. Upon overachieving the target for the blog, they were awarded the mandate for Decathlon India’s e-commerce website SEO as well.
How did you select Growth Hackers Digital and what were the deciding factors?
When seeking digital agencies for SEO and Content Marketing, Growth Hackers appeared as one of the top agencies in India. Upon getting in touch and explaining the problem statement, they presented a clear cut approach and made it possible for us to envision the true potential of our blog. This gave us the confidence to go with them.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.
They did a thorough audit and provided a detailed list of technical and on-page fixes to implement on the blog. Growth Hackers constantly monitored the impact on the traffic and visibility and made sure targets were achieved. A similar approach was followed for the e-commerce website as well.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Growth Hackers has different teams with different areas of expertise. A 5 member team specializing in SEO was working with us. We also had regular contact with Mr. Sundeep, the founder of Growth Hackers.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
For the Decathlon blog, they were able to increase the traffic by 10x at a 100% growth MOM over a span of 15 months. For the e-commerce website, Growth Hackers was able to increase the traffic by 2x and improved the search visibility by over 4x.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
They followed an extremely effective workflow. We had weekly calls set up to discuss in detail the traffic addition we achieved due to their efforts and their plan of action to further get us close to the goal we wanted to achieve. They were also really active over calls and emails and were always ready to help. Communication has been really seamless.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their approach is truly amazing. It’s a perfect blend of data and human thinking to make meaningful findings. This approach is foolproof and is designed to work under all circumstances.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I can't think of any. I’m really happy with our working engagement with Growth Hackers. They’re an awesome team to work with and have a contagious energy level. Loved every bit of working with them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a Co-Founder and COO at Dirtcube Interactive LLP. We are a fast-growing startup located in the Mumbai Area. We are currently focused on evolving into a production house for Interactive Media and Digital Entertainment software. We like to create our own original IPs and build products that we ourselves would love to use.
For what projects/services did your company hire Growth Hackers Digital?
We engaged Growth Hackers Digital to oversee the Media Buy/Ad Campaign Management for our social media app - Capshot.
What were your goals for this project?
We aimed to target the right audience through the correct channels in order to ensure low CPI as well as a good retention rate for the app.
How did you select this vendor?
We did a lot of research on different agencies and came across Growth Hackers Digital. While initially hesitant since we are based in Mumbai and their head office is in Bangalore, we were confident of a good working relationship after speaking with the team. On one of my visits to Bangalore, it was great to meet with them and get the ball rolling.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The scope of work included identifying the correct audience to target with our social media app and the best channels to optimize our efforts. We settled on Facebook and Google ads, after which the work entailed creatives for the ads, video production, end-to-end ad management, and optimization.
What was the team composition?
After touching base with the founder and their sales representative, we worked closely with their account manager, ad managers for Facebook and Google respectively as well as their in-house design team.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were able to identify Google and Facebook as the best channels for our Ad Campaign. The team helped us achieve a low CPI of around Rs.3 for Google Ads and around Rs.12 for Facebook Ads within the first 2 months. Accordingly, we were able to optimize budget allocation. In the two months since we launched the app, we have reached well above 50K downloads.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication has been very smooth. Every member of the team is always available for a phone call to discuss project planning/outcomes. We have a Whatsapp group and a Slack channel through which we constantly communicate. Weekly reports and planning meetings are a must from both sides.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
While being adept at their core competencies, what was most impressive was their communication and organization. It allows us to focus on what we do best without constantly stressing about campaign management. Also, the team is very responsive to suggestions and feedback which helps in the alignment of vision.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There is always room for improvement in any organization. I believe they currently specialize in a few digital marketing verticals and if they grow the organization to cover more bases they can certainly do even better.

I am founder of a digital platform that powers financial independence for women through tailored content, communities and curated financial services.
For what projects/services did your company hire Growth Hackers Digital?
We were looking to start paid digital campaigns on Facebook and Instagram to drive app installs for Basis.
What were your goals for this project?
1. Efficiently target our audience on Facebook and Instagram 2. Drive engaged users to our mobile app
How did you select this vendor?
We were doing some of these initiatives in-house, but did not have the right expertise. We didn't want to work with just any vendor, as incentives are often misaligned. We went ahead with Growth Hackers because they seemed well aligned to help us grow - and are now like an extension of our team.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Growth Hackers runs all our social media paid campaigns. They own the copy and concept, and all the ad targeting setup. They also closely monitor and track performance and key metrics, and advise us to modify our strategies based on data that we see from the campaigns.
What was the team composition?
We work closely with three team members.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since we started working with Growth Hackers, we've seen a 4X increase in our app installs, and they've helped us keep our acquisition costs at healthy numbers.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team is extremely responsive and approachable - and we've had no issues so far in terms of communication, transparency and keeping things moving.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We really appreciate the amount of knowledge the team has on creating and executing effective social media campaigns. They are also great at execution - and communicate with our team often.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We'd love to get advice from the team on what other growth channels we can pursue as an early stage startup.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Rang De is India's only social peer-to-peer lending platform through which individuals can become social investors and invest in other individuals from low-income households helping them build sustainable livelihoods. I work as an Engagement Manager at Rang De, and am responsible for all things related to engaging our community of social investors, including but not restricted to (since we are a start-up) communication, product design, and customer support.
For what projects/services did your company hire Growth Hackers Digital?
In 2019, Rang De transitioned from a charitable trust to a Non Banking Financial Company to comply with a regulation by the Reserve Bank of India for peer-to-peer lending. In this transition and the preceding lull while we prepared for it, we lost many of our social investors. From a community of 15,000 social investors, we managed to transition about 2000+ social investors to the new platform. Our challenge was to grow this community of social investors, and grow it fast. The urgency was two fold: 1) to meet the need for credit from our investee communities and 2) to sustain the platform - since our revenue is dependent on a membership fee paid by our users. In our new avatar, Rang De took a new positioning as a for profit social enterprise, instead of a not for profit earlier. We also transitioned from a free platform to a members only platform with a freemium model. This means we needed to identify a new type of user that would resonate with what we were trying to do. We hired Growth Hackers to help us start doing the work to identify and grow this pool of new users. We did not have any digital marketing capability within the team at the time.
What were your goals for this project?
The goals were simple: - to identify the new type of user that was taking an affinity to Rang De's offering - to grow this pool of new users As highlighted in the previous answer, the need to grow our user base was two-fold 1) to meet the need for credit from our investee communities and 2) to sustain the platform - since our revenue is dependent on a membership fee paid by our users.
How did you select this vendor?
We found Growth Hackers after multiple failed attempts to work with other digital agencies/consultants. Our strategy to identify vendors had been through word of mouth and through leveraging our network. I believe we discovered Growth Hackers through an online search. The deciding factors were their case studies and their clarity of thought and process. The co-founders of Rang De identified Growth Hackers and were involved in the initial screening process. The team was only introduced to Growth Hackers once the engagement was confirmed, owing to past failures in these partnerships.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The scope of work was to: - Identify a positioning that worked for Rang De on digital channels - Identify an audience that was resonating with Rang De's product - Grow this audience All through the channel of digital ads on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The expectation of Growth Hackers was to: - Define a strategy to employ - Create the creatives and the copy for the ads in alignment with the strategy - Deploy these ads across channels - Share weekly reports on the performance - Iterate weekly to introduce tweaks in strategy based on learnings Our role was to: - Brainstorm on strategy with the team (especially in the initial month) - Share feedback on the creatives - Tweak the copy if required - Approve strategy, creatives, and copy before ads were pushed live
What was the team composition?
We had an account manager who was responsible for all the communication. She also managed all Facebook and Instagram Ads. In addition, we had another team member who was responsible for Google Ads. They were supported by 1/2 additional members from their team for creatives and copy. The founder of Growth Hackers was also involved in initial strategy design and was available whenever his inputs were required.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We started with a customer acquisition cost greater than INR 3,000 in the first week, and by week 12 had brought this down to INR 250, which remained the average for the rest of the engagement period. This was definitely good progress. We identified the positioning and type of creatives that was working best for us in the digital space.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
This was definitely the best part about working with Growth Hackers - they were extremely professional, communicative, available, and open to feedback. Working with them was seamless and an absolute pleasure. We communicated over Google Hangouts, since that's the channel we use internally at the organisation. They were available all days of the week, with a quick message on hangouts. Their reports would come in like clockwork, every Tuesday. If we were late to share feedback, they would stretch after hours to ensure that the creatives and copy were tweaked and ready to be pushed as per schedule. They were very open to feedback about strategy, creatives, copy, and even process. When process tweaks and additional reporting was requested, they delivered this immediately. The partnership was definitely effective.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They delivered. It was less talk and promises and more action. Unlike many in the space of digital marketing, they did not make tall promises or paint a picture of unrealistic numbers. Depending on the budgets assigned they would project realistic, albeit conservative numbers, but work hard to deliver them. Their biggest strength is their method of working with their clients. As mentioned in the previous answer, working with them was seamless.
Are there any areas for improvement?
One specific one - Google display ads were not working from the very beginning. But we took a long time to cut budgets on them. This ought to have been picked up earlier, allowing us to divert budgets to the channels that were working.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I handle marketing and corporate communications for a Danish robotics company, which has over 700 employees across the glove. My role is to oversee all online and offline communications in the South Asian region, comprising primarily of India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
For what projects/services did your company hire Growth Hackers Digital?
While we are very well-known across the globe, the concept of the collaborative robot technology that my company pioneers is relatively nascent in the South Asian region. Since its entry in the South Asian market in 2016, all marketing activities were done offline, while online marketing was carried out by our HQ in Denmark. However, we realized this year that a localized digital marketing strategy was essential to further our goals of lead generation and brand awareness.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to increase product and brand awareness and generate high quality leads in an affordable way that would also allow for a targeted approach.
How did you select this vendor?
We had a few in mind, but thanks to a referral, we settled on this vendor, who first allowed us a trial period of a month. After 11 months, I'm happy to say that we now have extended their contract for another year.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The vendor is in charge of the entire digital strategy, as well as executing it. This includes Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, Google ads, Retargeting, Email marketing, and campaign management on Hubspot. They submit weekly reports and have weekly reviews, which are also monitored by our Digital Marketing Heads in the USA and Denmark. Their team also creates brand-compliant designs for us to use in our online and offline marketing activities.
What was the team composition?
I work closely with 3-4 people who handle our account specifically. This includes a designer, as well as 2-3 people in charge of digital marketing channels and Hubspot.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since we have begun working with GrowthHackers, we are guaranteed at least a minimum of 1 lead per day. After 11 months, approximately 40% of all leads have been generated through online sources.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team is extremely efficient, approachable, and friendly. They reply quickly, and have even created a WhatsApp group for even quicker feedback and communication. Deadlines have also been met.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Since this is the first time we were working with a digital marketing team, we were apprehensive about this new approach and needed some time to understand digital strategy. GrowthHackers was patient and answered everything in detail. Thereby helping us explore and learn more about the possibilities in digital marketing. They are also extremely brand compliant in terms of designs they create. which has often been a struggle for me to coordinate with previous agencies.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Overall, I am satisfied with their work.
