I’m the founder of an e-learning company. 

What challenge were you trying to address with Graph Technologies?

I was looking for a firm to develop a mobile application. 

What was the scope of their involvement?

Graph Technologies is developing an Android mobile application to serve as an e-learning platform. I’ve helped them lay out the app’s design, including the look and feel. Graph Technologies also provides advertisement services, which we may utilize in the future.

I worked with a developer and a project manager. 

How did you come to work with Graph Technologies?

I found Graph Technologies through a Google search. They responded quickly to my message when I inquired about their services, so I hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested $20,000 with Graph Technologies. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This partnership began in June 2021 and is scheduled to end in June 2022. 

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The app will launch in the Google Play Store soon, but I’ve relayed the app to users for testing and it is doing well. 

How did Graph Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Typically, we communicate with Graph Technologies through email and WhatsApp. Graph Technologies is very responsive and understanding about our need for a payment plan. We pay Graph Technologies as the project progresses — we don’t pay full price upfront. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I am impressed with Graph Technologies’ expertise and skill level. They can provide anything I request — they’re flexible workers with the skill to deliver for their clients. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Graph Technologies is great and should market themselves more. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d advise customers to work with Graph Technologies because they’re loyal and trustworthy. They can deliver for clients and provide expertise for many development work that lies outside of a client’s industry. 

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Coinbox, a fintech company that helps the average Kenyan pay for things in bits. We call it Coinbox because users can save coins to own high-quality products. When prominent brands come to Kenya, they can only sell to high-end people. We’re attempting to bring such brands to the lower-middle class, enabling consumers to own a bit more. Simply put, our company aims to bring brands closer to the masses. 

What challenge were you trying to address with Graph Technologies?

We hired Graph to help develop a mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Graph developed a mobile app that was integrated with M-Pesa payments, a mobile money transfer company popular in our country. The team also helped us raise capital and pitch to investors. We provided them with our idea and showed them how we wanted it to work. Their resources took that idea in raw form and developed it into an app. Meanwhile, our team decided to publish the app on Google Play since 97% of the Kenyan population were Android users. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with two people from Graph. One of them was the main developer, and one person was helping him. A large team worked together behind them. 

How did you come to work with Graph Technologies?

We found Graph through a local innovation event in Kenya; we were directed to them by someone who’d worked with their team before. Their pricing was fair, and more importantly, they were engaging. Our team didn’t know much about technology, but they were excited about what we were doing. They also wanted to work with startups. That was the start of our partnership. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $2,500–$3,000 on the entire project.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from August 2020–January 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measured success based on how well we performed in the startup space and understood our product. Simply put, we learned a lot about the startup ecosystem. Graph also gave plenty of suggestions for ways we could grow our brand. 

How did Graph Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Graph was better at communicating with us than meeting deadlines; we had some delays here and there. However, this usually happened when dealing with technological products. We never had huge issues because they always kept us in the loop and informed us of the reasons they were late. In terms of tools, Graph used Jira and Bitrix to manage the project. We mainly used WhatsApp and regular phone calls to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They had great technological knowledge — they could solve hard problems. In fact, they helped us explore avenues we didn’t even think about at first. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve added more people to the project. Only two engineers worked with us — more would have been better.

Have a clear vision for your project and goals, and let Graph know about them.

I’m a team lead at SpaceBridge Ventures. It’s a creative agency that mostly does branding and ad work.  

What challenge were you trying to address with Graph Technologies?

We needed to develop a system, and one of our clients needed a mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Graph Technologies developed a shopping and delivery Android app for one of our clients, for whom we were doing branding work. Users of the app can shop from anywhere and have products delivered to them. It’s a native Android app built on Java.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with the developers.

How did you come to work with Graph Technologies?

We’d met with Vincent (Owner, Graph Technologies) at a tech event. I had him in my contacts.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $5,000–$8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Graph 3–4 years ago, and we completed the work in 2019. The project’s been completed, but we’re doing an upgrade now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The most important thing for the client was making sure that the app was completed on time and had the functionalities they wanted. We did a number of tests at different stages and for different functions.

How did Graph Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Vincent was quite good in that regard. I knew him and had worked with him before, so it was easier from my side.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Graph Technologies is very creative at what they do, and they really listen to what the customer wants. They give a lot of advice on what’s feasible and what can and can’t be done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The communication could’ve been improved at one point, but everything else was good.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should be sure about what they want to avoid having to restart. Our client just had an idea, and they didn’t think it through. If we know what we need to do, the developers’ work is easy and fast. They won’t need to start thinking for the client.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the owner of a branding company that procures and print promotional merchandise for our clients.

For what projects/services did your company hire Graph Technologies, and what were your goals?

Since we are a start-up and did not have an in-house developers to build our website, we hired this team to design and develop a WordPress site for us. We were hoping to increase our reach throughout the country.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for developers and vendors. We settled on Graph technologies based on their past projects and cost estimates.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a kick off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there the team provided mock ups for our site. After a few iterations, the team developed an information wordpress site. they updated the content to reflect our services and created a landing page with a contact form.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

a project manager was our main point of contact throughout the process. There were also two developers and a graphics design working behind the scene.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our site, we saw a 60% percent increase of traffic to our social media pages which in turn were converted to sales. Our clients also have a better understanding of our services and products.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We had weekly stand-ups with the project manager who communicated with the rest of the team. Incase of any delays or hold back, the team let us know in advance. We talked through emails and WhatsApp calls.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They took the time to train us on how to update the content on our site.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

When we first launched, we had a few bugs on the contact form. They were quick to fix the issues and we are progressing well.
