Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work at Coursera, an online education platform, as the director of enterprise product marketing.
What challenge were you trying to address with GMS Media & Advertising?
We were one of the launch partners for Zoom applications, which Zoom was going to announce at their annual conference, Zoomtopia. In relation to that, we needed to create a one-minute video that would be used on their keynote to announce this new functionality and showcase how some of their partners were using it.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We provided GMS Media & Advertising with a script of what we envisioned. We spoke to them about how to finish the project within our preferred timeframe. This was a short-term project.
We had some product footage and, at the same time, we needed them to feature the VP of our product. We brainstormed with them on how to do so safely during COVID-19. In the end, we decided to record it remotely.
It took a few different tries to get the right fit in terms of being able to get good quality footage and audio. We needed to make sure that our spokesperson was comfortable with how things were going. Like all good projects, we had last-minute changes; we wanted to broaden the scope and showcase an additional capability of our application. We shot the whole thing over a weekend.

We collaborated with 2–4 people from their team.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with GMS Media & Advertising for one week in October 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work was fabulous. We leveraged the video not just in the conference but also in associated press releases. They exceeded our internal goals, and we were really pleased that we were able to get it done in such a short term and at a high quality. Overall, we were so impressed with GMS Media & Advertising. It was such a critical moment for us and, because of this partnership, we achieved our goal.
How did GMS Media & Advertising perform from a project management standpoint?
They had a really streamlined project management process. From the beginning, we knew that it was going to be a bit of a sprint. GMS Media & Advertising were experts at setting schedules, and they even included some decision points for the unknown.
The other thing that I really appreciated was that they hit all of their deadlines and even exceeded them. They did an excellent job of managing expectations, which made our job easier. When the assets were coming, it set everyone at ease and helped us make quick decisions.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were incredibly responsive, and they took feedback well. They were also professional, and they understood our choices. Given the challenges of COVID-19, we were very pleased.
In the beginning, we were trying to decide whether we were going to use B-roll footage or not, given that we were doing all of the filming over Zoom. At that time, GMS Media & Advertising said that they would come back to us with a few options so that we could have different ways of tackling the project, and they did.
After that, we agreed that their direction was the way we wanted to go. Most importantly, they made sure that everything they did aligned with our brand.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It was wonderful. We plan to do a second video once our app is readily available. Additionally, there were no surprises.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Share with GMS Media & Advertising what your goals are and include them in setting your strategy. Our spokesperson was very conservative in terms of COVID-19 policies, and they just took it in stride. Additionally, they can help you brainstorm on different approaches that you could take. I don't think that that level of partnership is always available.

I am the frontman and manager for an independent Irish folk band called The Humble Hooligans.
For what projects/services did your company hire GMS Media & Advertising?
We hired GMS for a full-scale production music video.
What were your goals for this project?
Professional quality, public exposure, branding.
How did you select this vendor?
I met the owner of GMS media through a networking group. He came highly recommended and I chose his team after meeting with him.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
We shot on location at my personal residence. GMS brought a whole team of 8-9 crew to make sure every aspect of the project was managed. The shoot took most of the day. After wrap, I waited less than a week before the finished product was presented to us. We could not have been more pleased with the quality, professionalism, and communication with this team.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Not applicable.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Within a week, the video had more hits than any of our previous content. We were very pleased and plan to use GMS in the future.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was flawless. It was evident that they were in step and the speed and fluidity were clear.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They really enjoy working with each other. It’s fun to watch.

I don’t have any suggestions at this time.
