I am the CEO at Omni EDDI Inc, a company specializing in the electronic file and document processing for the Customs Brokerage and vehicle import market.
For what projects/services did your company hire Geoviz, and what were your goals?
We partnered with Geoviz for our Omni EDDI SAAS platform. Use of the Omni EDDI platform as the centerpiece of the data capture and distribution, as well as PDF form generation.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Geoviz was introduced through a previous business partner.

Omni EDDI operates in the background, away from the user. It functions in several ways:
It connects up to 6 different enterprise applications that provide distinct functionalities. Omni makes the files compatible and transferable between the applications. It connects the vehicle importing community directly to leading US Customs Brokers (i.e. Livingston International, Cole International) It connects to an electronic Bond and Policy insurance generator.
Generates a variety of PDF forms, which are distributed directly to various stakeholders, both via email and FTP upload. Integrates with vehicle importer’s ERP systems. Integrates with the Customs Broker applications (i.e. ACE, ABI)
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We are working with a ‘Software Architect’, a ‘Project Lead’, Software Developers’ and a ‘DevOps’ team working as Omni EDDI’s team.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The most challenging deliverable was the need to meet the multiple requirements at each step of the Omni EDDI process. Omni EDDI uses a “File Comes In”, “Multiple Files Go Out” approach. Many of the specifics of the files that are processed at different steps vary, with Omni needing to be able to handle a variety of file formats and data distribution needs.
Omni EDDI replaced a 14 year old software program with a more robust and flexible option within 12 months of initiation.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Their management style is hands-on, with a daily developers’ meeting and assistance as the software product development architect. They use Agile development methodology with bi-weekly sprints. Extensive use of Jira and Trello is used for project management. Use of Zoom, Slack and Zoom for communications.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They provide a special focus on the full scope of applications that are scalable, robust and have a high quality user experience, in order to create a seamless SAAS platform and mobile apps. They don’t disappear once the product is launched. They remain an integral part of the development and maintenance cycle.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Occasionally ideas that are discussed are not fully understood by all parties and the results do not quite match the needs. This is a function of the speed of the development and the use of the daily meetings. Sometimes ideas are not fully established before development begins.

The VIN2 SaaS makes everyday Vehicle import procedures faster and more efficient. With its VIN decode function it assists with a fast, organized and streamlined solution that generates all the necessary data and forms you need to receive a faster approval & Compliance for cross border transactions.

There are three main differentiations we are able to create with this project. We became the only company in the market that is able to quickly respond to the changing government compliance needs for the automotive industry.
We have the sophisticated security design, next generation label printing, and highest degree of documents and workflows automation achieved against the competition. The stability and robustness of our platform has reached its highest levels in history.

I've liked working with the Geoviz team. They specifically are very attentive to their meetings, they show up consistently and deliver the product when they say that they do.
Specifically in our industry where we're dealing with governments that are constantly changing the rules they have been very attentive to that and take action quickly when it comes to fixing an issue that needs immediate attention and because of that we're finding some success and the response has been really excellent and we look forward to our continued relationship with Geoviz
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Our experience with Geoviz has been a very pleasant one, they've really come to the rescue of our SAAS software platform that had very fragmented lines of code as there was quite a bit of confusion with our previous developers not totally understanding exactly what we were trying to accomplish.
We've found Geoviz a very competent team that has the experience to nail down what we are trying to accomplish. I would recommend Geoviz to anybody that's looking for an honest team to put together a software application as a service system.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The Geoviz team has truly checked all the boxes for what they have set out to do. The only area of improvement we could suggest would be unifying the dev op’s changes with our marketing team in order to get the message out to our marketable share of users. We overall are very pleased with our relationship with Geoviz.

My branded online stores are professionally done and running flawlessly. My inventory with 3PLs and Amazon is well taken care of My sales boosting team is constantly increasing sales volumes month after month.

We use Zoom, Whatsapp, emails mostly for communication. We use a lot of Google Sheets and Docs for reporting. Shopify, Amazon Seller Account, Jazzba Inventory System, and in the future Walmart and other market places will be incorporated
