Shopify Web Dev for Workout Apparel Company
"They are by far the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective team I’ve ever worked with."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a premium apparel company in the work-out space called Ten Thousand. I’m the VP of brand and the creative director.
What challenge were you trying to address with GenovaWebArt?
When I started over two years ago, we needed to revamp the website from the front- to the backend. The design, functionality, and logic all needed to be revamped. Our goals, from the start, have been to have the best UX and optimize the site for our conversion rate.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We hired them as our site development partner. It all started with an overall of the full site, where they brought our design to life and built a new Shopify site from scratch.
They’ve since worked with us to optimize the site, adding new pages and functionalities along the way. From that first project of overhauling the site to now updating the site navigation and optimizing it, they work with us on it all.
What is the team composition?
I primarily work with one person, Christina (Account Manager).
How did you come to work with GenovaWebArt?
I was grandfathered into this engagement; GenovaWebArt had been working with my company before I started. However, I believe they were highly recommended by a friend of our brand, so we got to know them. We were told they were an extremely competent, responsive, cost-competitive team — all of which I found to be true.
How much have you invested with them?
I’d estimate that we’ve spent around $50,000 per year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since July 2018 and our engagement is ongoing. We’re constantly developing and revamping the site; they provide a lot more than just maintenance.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
From my perspective, we’ve seen exponential growth since we switched over to the new design they implemented for us. We’ve seen around a 550% growth in revenue since launching the new site. We’ve seen over 8,000 5-star reviews on the product, brand, and overall experience. Conversion rates have been steady around the 4%-5% range, which is amazing and has dramatically increased from the 1%–2% range we previously had. We had a great experience. They did it seamlessly. I couldn’t be happier.
How did GenovaWebArt perform from a project management standpoint?
As far as project management, we use a Google Sheet to track projects. We primarily use email to communicate and they’re extremely responsive. The team is great at prioritizing and executing on timelines.
They’re seven hours ahead of us, so usually when I send something at night, the work is done by the next morning for us, depending on the scope. It’s super helpful for them to be in a different timezone than us. They’re really reliable, which is rare in the development world.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve worked with a lot of developers and they are by far the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective team I’ve ever worked with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they do a great job. I don’t have anything specific to point out.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’ve recommended them a bunch of times to people. Definitely have a first call with them, give them a test, and hear them out.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the CEO of Runtime, which is the world’s first esports nutrition company. We focus on improving in-game performance for esports athletes and gamers, providing healthy alternatives to junk food and snacks.
For what projects/services did your company hire GenovaWebArt?
We wanted a better website to improve our sales. We heard about GenovaWebArt from our partners and approached them with a design that needed to be turned into a Shopify theme. They transformed our design into a fully working theme and integrated Langify flawlessly, as we needed to run two languages at the same time. The project also included integration of third-party apps and development of internal operation tools for the German market. We had a limited timeframe for our upcoming launch but were honestly blown away by their flawless execution.
What were your goals for this project?
We needed to integrate our design into a fully responsive, 2-language Shopify theme within a limited timeframe and budget.
How did you select this vendor?
We've surveyed about 20 Shopify experts and studios to find the best fit. GenovaWebArt gave us a competitive quote and was able to execute our vision within a limited timeframe.
Describe the project in detail.
For our first call, we laid down the basic goals and timeline and talked about the new design. Then, we moved into weekly progress checks, and GenovaWebArt provided to-do lists for us (e.g. copy, graphics, translations) as the project progressed. We've also consulted with them about SEO, and they did an initial market analysis for us, suggesting improvements to our design. They integrated every Shopify app as natively as possible to match our style. Once they presented the theme, which was almost complete and bug-free, we exchanged a bunch of emails with the bug-fix list. After the website launched, we started to work on other features, including the development of two custom solutions that weren’t on the Shopify App Store.
Explain how the solution addressed your business challenge.
The new website theme gave us better conversion results and provided a stronger representation of our company. GenovaWebArt also integrated a custom solution that solved our dilemma of meeting the requirements of the German PFAND recycling system for the drinks we're selling.
What was the team composition?
We provided a designer and a project manager, but it’s hard to say how many people were involved from GenovaWebArt.
What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?
Our conversion rates have improved, and the overall perception of our brand is much stronger. GenovaWebArt met and even exceeded our expectations with their reliable implementation of tweaks and custom integrations to meet our location-based requirements.
How effective was the project management?
The project management was efficient, even though we communicated mainly through email and Trello. We kept in touch throughout the development cycle, and we never had any issues or miscommunications.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I’m impressed they were able to execute a large-scale, complex project in such a limited timeframe and for a reasonable price. They’re a very reliable partner.
What tips or recommendations do you have?
GenovaWebArt is located in Europe, so communicating with them from the U.S. may be challenging. In our case, the communication was always quick and clear.

What challenge were you trying to address with GenovaWebArt?
We needed their team to upgrade our online shop.
What was the scope of their involvement?

What is the team composition?
I was mainly in contact with Elena (Project Manager) and Arthur (Founder & CEO).
How did you come to work with GenovaWebArt?
Our CMO found their team’s profile online. They had higher pricing than our previous developer, but we’ve proven them to be Shopify experts that communicated their plans to us well.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $1,100 on this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
The communication started in January 2021, while the actual project ran from March–April 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The performance of our website improved after GenovaWebArt’s development work, and that’s the best metric for us. Additionally, they delivered everything we needed on time.
How did GenovaWebArt perform from a project management standpoint?
They met every deadline that we set.
What did you find most impressive about them?
GenovaWebArt was a very well-organized team, and they gave us everything they promised.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We didn’t encounter any.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Identify your main goal, and set your expectations straight — their team will then take everything from there.

I am the CEO of paper republic. Founded in 2012 and located in Vienna, Austria, we produce high-quality notebooks and accessories that are distributed in more than 50 countries.

We previously worked with them to build the second version of our website. Moving into this next phase, we were confident that they could help us with this project, too.
Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

What was the team composition?
We worked with a development team that was managed by a leader.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The new website went live three weeks ago and the past month’s online sales were 20% higher than they were last year.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
I really appreciated working with my assigned team. They handed the project very professionally. Their communication skills were excellent and any small issues or setbacks were quickly resolved. GenovaWebArt also showed great organization strategies. Throughout the four weeks of the engagement, the team set three major milestones, all of which they hit.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was impressed by their professionalism. GenovaWebArt not only implemented everything I asked, but they also suggested improvements for our design and the website’s functionalities. They really took our design to a new level, and they did it for a fair price.
Are there any areas where they can improve?
There is very little room for GenovaWebArt to improve.
The work from GenovaWebArt has thrilled the client, notably leading to a 550% growth in revenue and thousands of positive reviews from users. The team is consistent, dedicated, and clearly skilled in their industry. They work productively with a time difference and emphasize timeliness.
