Rewriting respect
Redesigning the sign using Arabic calligraphy, tightly linked to Islamic and Arabic culture, had a very positive impact in Qatar, where people are deeply attached to moral values and religion. Seeing the sign ‘written’ in their own language had a strong effect on people, touching their subconscious and reminding them that respect is a cultural and moral/religious duty.

I’m the director of investment of an investment company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Generator Design Agency?
We weren’t in the public scene, so we didn’t have a website or general presence in the market. We also wanted to give a professional feel to our potential customers when they looked for our name online.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Generator Design Agency developed a website for us and did rebranding tasks. They built a dynamic, professional, and high-tech site in English and Arabic that has a tool that enables us to update and make changes ourselves, which is very helpful. In terms of the rebranding, they redesigned our company logo to make it fit the current business environment, redesigned our letterhead, and created a short video explaining the vision and mission of our company.
To jumpstart the project, we provided the content for the website, and after reviewing it and marking some changes, they applied it to the platform. We also went through a feedback phase for the branding where we approved all the colors, font’s and other esthetic aspects of the content — they were very patient to accomplish what we wanted.

We worked with 3–4 members of their team, including a project manager and a graphic designer.
How did you come to work with Generator Design Agency?
We found them through Google research; we saw their previous work, and we chose them based on the passion they showed on the project.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent around $10,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from February 2021–January 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Regarding the logo, they developed a design that suited our company and represented our heritage and the combination of the Arabic and English languages. Also, the website they created for us puts us in a more confident position when we introduce our business to potential partners — it shows our professionalism.
How did Generator Design Agency perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management was great; they were on top of everything and met the established deadlines. In terms of communication, they were very responsive, friendly, and took care of all the changes we asked for without complaining. Overall, they focused on delivering something we really wanted and not just something generic to finish the project.
In terms of tools, we used Zoom and Google Meets.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their creativity and design skills were outstanding. Also, the personality of the team and the passion they have for storytelling were impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make a precise timeline for the project and have and engage with their team throughout the process.

I’m the CEO of South Land Trades. We are based out of Chicago, established in 2010. We are a hookah importer and manufacturer, work in tobacco, and handcrafted art.
What challenge were you trying to address with Generator?
We needed branding work done in order to build our identity and create an appealing story for our customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They started by building the logo for the company. They also designed the logo for the leading handmade hookah brand. They did part of the website design, including the text above “Our Story”, font, and color choices.
They designed flyers and banners and created packages for several of our products. For example, they created different packaging for different types of charcoal.
What is the team composition?
I have one point of contact.
How did you come to work with Generator?
I saw their ad on Facebook, and they were referred by one of their clients.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $3,000 roughly.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in 2012 or 2013, and our work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
There has been continuous growth in the company, and I am confident that our collaboration with them is a key factor. They did a good job reflecting our artistic identity while merging it with an oriental feel. It’s very unique. They were able to create unique packaging that catches the eye of shoppers. The feedback from our customers on the packaging has been very positive.
How did Generator perform from a project management standpoint?
They are efficient. They’ve held our hand through the processes as we came into this with a limited background. They are great regarding innovation. Communication is via phone, email, and some video conferences.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They take pride in their work and try to invest aggressively in educating us on why they do what they do. They focus on explaining the psychology of certain choices for the customer. From a marketing perspective, they are very helpful. Their creativity was both comforting and appealing from the start.

No, nothing comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be open about what you’re looking for and don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions. The more they understand your vision, the more innovative they can be.
