For what projects/services did your company hire func.media, and what were your goals?
Our original website was outdated and not setup for purchase / order fulfillment. With func.media we were looking to create a new shoppable site along with revamping our SEO and marketing aspects. So far, we have successfully launched our new website / platform with major customizations as well as improving our SEO and digital presence. Func.media is always available for questions or concerns, with rapid response times. They were able to take our vision and really develop the custom site we were looking for to launch our direct to consumer website. They have also been a key component in content creation and integration of other applications into our website - overall, helping us build a strong online presence in our market and seamlessly executing the best user experience for shoppers.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched online for web developers and also had professional recommendations from established contacts. We had a shortlist of about 3 companies and after speaking with Func.media about our goals, we chose them based on their portfolio, design and development skills, content creation, and overall cost.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss goals and objectives. From there, the Func.media team delivered several options of mock-ups and wireframes for us to choose from and also discuss further for customization with Shopify. After several rounds of discussion and adjustments, the func.media team were able to design, develop and deploy the new Shopify site, ensuring seamless integration with our Amazon fulfillment and Zendesk customer service features.

Our key contact was their main developer and they also had multiple backend developers and designers working behind the scenes. We always had constant contact and quick response time for needed assistance.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Since launching our site and working with func.media on our SEO, we have seen a substantial increase in our search placement for key terms with organic search traffic up 74% and revenue for organic search traffic up 171%.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We had weekly then moved to bi-weekly calls as the need to communicate was adjusted to the project needs. Once we had all design factors finalized, we let the developers work and if needed, ad hoc calls to discuss any items that came up - overall, they were very flexible to our needs and schedule. Now as we continue with content creation, SEO and site improvements we work with Monday to ensure that projects are organized and communication doesn't get lost in email.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They are young but highly experienced developers, offering us the most relevant and cutting edge feedback and suggestions to improve our site. They've ensured that we're focused on the most relevant topics to maintain our online presence.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We had some issues with tracking all of our changes and update requests but func.media created our own forum with the tool, Monday, which allows me to have constant view of current and open items with more organized communication through the platform.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the COO of a mobile shopping application. We focus on product testing, specifically for Wal-Mart.
What challenge were you trying to address with func.media?
We needed a marketing partner for our business.
What was the scope of their involvement?
func.media has been our partner for marketing strategy, web and graphic design, and brand identity efforts. They’ve also helped us execute influencer campaigns, animated video assets, social media management, content creation, and email marketing, among other tasks. In addition to that, their team handles our Facebook marketing, Google Ads, SEO campaigns, and keyword research implementation.

We’ve been mainly working with Cam (Co-Founder) and Everet (Creative Director), along with other members of their team.

They’ve grown our emailing list massively in a short period — we have thousands of users waiting to use our app. Our social media channels’ numbers have effectively increased as well — we get tens of thousands of visitors every month.
How did func.media perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re great; their team comes prepared to our meetings every week with an organized agenda, making every encounter meaningful. They’re also top-notch in delivering analytics about the campaigns we’re running. In addition to that, they manage incredible communication and turnaround times — every time we need something and contact them, we get a response in under 30 minutes or even come back to us with the work already completed.
In terms of tools and communication, we use Monday.com, Slack, and emails to keep everyone updated on the progress of any initiative.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’ve been working with different marketing companies that overpromise and underdeliver, and func.media is the complete opposite of that. They do everything they promise in an incredibly timely manner. In addition to that, they’re competent in every aspect of marketing because they don’t specialize in one particular area; they’re a full-stack team knowledgeable in every kind of marketing initiative.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and part-owner of a small Mississauga-based automotive shop. We sell and repair cars. I also work there as a mechanic.
What challenge were you trying to address with func.media?
We hired func.media to employ marketing strategies for us. Being in a competitive industry, we needed to find ways to make our small business stand out.
What was the scope of their involvement?
func.media started by examining the main services we provide and our placement within our community. They focused on bringing in more customers that were nearby. We were a small shop, so we needed to identify our best target market. Apart from that, func.media also made the process simpler for us to follow since some of my employees were not that tech-savvy.
As for the key deliverables, func.media built our Instagram page and developed a UI/UX website for us. These were all we needed to make our shop more noticeable.
