Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of marketing communications for an HR development firm. We’re a government agency responsible for access into the government on all matters pertaining to human resource development. We provide advisory services.
What challenge were you trying to address with The Fox in the Box Group?
We needed help coming up with a digital marketing strategy to grow our brand.
What was the scope of their involvement?
When we met with them, we went through graphic design advertisements — most of the content was focused on marketing. While we didn’t have the budget to develop a comprehensive strategy, The Fox in the Box advised us on the best ways to use multiple platforms and channels.
On Facebook and Twitter, they taught us how to create advertisements, and then they setup Instagram and LinkedIn accounts for us. They often referred us to websites where we could learn more about digital marketing tools.
Other areas of focus included SEO, SEM, PPC, and content marketing. Content marketing was been especially helpful, as we told them we wanted to target customers by posting blogs, images, and videos about our organization. They also offered advice on how to advertise on mobile phones.

How did you come to work with The Fox in the Box Group?
Our team went to Cape Town for corporate training that The Fox in the Box Group offered, and we met their managing director. She assisted us whenever we needed help. I’d call her to ask for advisory services when we were working on our social media strategy, so we needed to come up with a digital marketing strategy, she also provided those advisory services.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent less than $100,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from June 2017–August 2019. They are always willing to answer questions, though.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The Fox in the Box Group really helped us. When I started working with them, we began paying attention to our weekly social media analytics. We also check our website analytics monthly to see how we’re faring. All this is shared in a report we write for them.
How did The Fox in the Box Group perform from a project management standpoint?
Their communication was excellent — they even went out of their way on weekends to let us know if the level of interaction on our website was too low. If that was the case, they advised us to have the means to respond to queries. The Fox in the Box Group was very efficient. We were happy with their services.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The content that they offered, as well as the quality of the services they gave to us, were amazing. When we ask them how to do something, they are very instrumental in helping us, even with tasks we’re developing ourselves.
The Fox in the Box Group took on the issue of training us. We didn’t know anything about graphic design, designing advertisements, or monitoring content, but they gave us tips on how to design, monitor, and make detailed reports. The Fox in the Box analyzed the quality of the strategies we created because they wanted us to succeed, even though it was beyond what we agreed to.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’d like them to open a branch by me so that they can come into our office to share knowledge with us. They indicated that they’d like to assist the government, but they aren’t in our country.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They provide a wide range of interlinked services regarding digital marketing, with particular emphasis on social media. Ask them to guide how to develop your digital marketing strategy and follow metrics.
