Google Maps Recruiting Video
The Google Geo team hired us for two production days at Google’s Mountain View and San Francisco offices. The goal of the project was to capture three interviews and b-roll for this video. Googlers from around the world were deployed with various video teams and scripts. Out of the six subjects interviewed in this video, we shot three of them. We also shot a number of b-roll shots of the subjects around the Google offices. After filming was complete, the footage was sent to Google for their team to edit and distribute the final product.

US Census Bureau Get Out the Count Video Challenge
The U.S. Census Bureau started a video competition in hopes of motivating hard-to-reach communities to get counted. The Census is meant to aid in the distribution of funds to certain areas of the country based on population density and other factors. Our Executive Producer, Andrew Klein, found out about the competition in the middle of April, which gave us 3 weeks to create something from scratch. Due to the nation-wide lockdowns our only option was to make an animated video. Singer and songwriter, Zak, put together an incredibly catchy song in one weekend, which gave us the idea to turn this into an animated music video. Our Lead Animator, Steve Cook, managed a team of two other animators - Dmitri Yakovlev and Michael Stelmar. We hit the ground running with Dmitri’s storyboard and script. The bear character was created in 3D so we could have the most freedom of movement within the environment. The other characters were illustrated and animated with 2D layers. Steve tracked Zak’s mouth shapes (visemes) to produce the lip sync for the bear. Since we were all remote, we had to use different software to communicate with each other and share files. With Dmitri’s directing and Michael’s expert design skills, we were able to submit our project to the Census 2020 competition with 3 minutes left! Our video finished as a Top Ten Finalist out of 750 submissions! Big Thanks to the team for the incredible effort under the tightest deadline yet.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm a Sr. Staff Communications Specialist for Renesas Electronics. We are a semiconductor company and I manage the company's internal communications and PR globally.
For what projects/services did your company hire Fog Coast Productions, and what were your goals?
We recently went through an acquisition of another company and we wanted to develop an internal corporate culture video to unite people with different backgrounds from both companies. We also wanted to develop an external video that explains the history of who we are and our vision going forward.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Fog Coast was recommended by someone who has worked with them in the past. Fog Coast is known for its reputation as a solid video production company that develops high quality videos and specializes in visualization of abstract concepts using modern techniques.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We first kicked off the projects with a brainstorming session. We really wanted make sure the production team understands the messages we wanted to deliver and the goals we wanted to achieve. Then we developed scripts and storyboards and fine-tuned the content based on their feedback so that we can tell our story effectively.
The third stage is designing a mockup for the video. We went back and forth in this segment since one of our projects involved developing an original animation with a character. Once the character was completed, we had another round of reviews up to 3 versions.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We mainly worked with Andrew and Steve. They were very good at responding to our questions and delivering updates on time. The feedback platform is interactive and easy to exchange comments.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
One of our projects involved creating an original animation. We exchanged at least 4-5 versions while trying to define the character, and once that’s done, we moved to the animation part. We did not want to compromise and we kept exchanging feedback until everything was perfect.
The production team was very patient, listened to our detailed requests and delivered the character that met all of our requirements. Adding to the pressure were our tight deadline and an additional video which was in production simultaneously. Despite all the hurdles, the team delivered quality products on time.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Andrew and his team worked on two of our corporate videos recently. The quality of their work and their professionalism throughout the projects simply exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, they were very methodical in preparing outlines with us and guiding us to the right direction, while accommodating our style and requests as much as possible. We were in touch frequently and they kept us updated with the latest status and the schedule of each deliverable. They understood our requirements and explained how to best visualize and incorporate our vision into the videos.
We had two videos in progress simultaneously and the deadlines were very tight, but despite these requirements, we are very pleased with the final products. The videos are truly a unique work and not a copy of typical corporate videos. We are looking forward to working with them on future projects.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We're a global medical technology leader providing innovative cancer detection and therapy solutions. We work passionately to provide precise, powerful healthcare solutions expertly engineered to optimize operational efficiency, clinician confidence, and patient outcomes
For what projects/services did your company hire Fog Coast Productions?
Fog Coast was instrumental in helping us develop new video and animation content promoting the industry's first 3D AI deep learning breast cancer detection algorithm. Our goal was to develop testimonials and visual content that informed the viewer of the value of our company's ProFound AI technology.
What were your goals for this project?
To develop several video testimonials by early adopters; clinicians who were passionate about sharing their positive experience of using our company's ProFound AI during their reading of mammography studies.
The second goal was to generate educational animation visuals that could be used for tradeshows, videos, or presentations demonstrating enhanced cancer detection while reducing reading times and false positives.
How did you select Fog Coast Productions?
We evaluated several companies that offered similar services. We selected Fog Coast Productions for several reasons. Their ability to take our vision for what we were looking to accomplish and clearly articulate the steps, goals, timelines, and production costs that would result in a finalized product.
We also appreciated their strong organizational, and communication skills, as well as technical knowledge. Lastly, their flexibility to work with us, enabling us to pick and choose from a portfolio of services, those that best worked within our budget and timeline.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
Fog Coast worked with us to define the process for interviewing several members of our team as well as KOLS. They flew, with equipment in hand, to one of our largest conferences where they captured interviews, booth activities, and other B-roll like content.
A second project required a trip to our main office where they interviewed members of our team and product demonstrations. Fog Coast worked with us during the editing process, providing us several revisions to help ensure the final product was exactly what we were looking to achieve.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
They provided a two-person filming crew when on-site and one animator for post-production work. Each step of the way, our teams worked closely together, sharing ideas and recommendations.
The Fog Coast team was very accommodating and easy to work with, making those they interviewed feel comfortable during the process and after filming, provided us multiple rounds where we were able to fine-tune the final products.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The content Fog Coast Production generated has been used by our sales teams countless times over, helped substantially increase our web traffic, and is continues to be accessed via Social Media and Video platforms.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We enjoyed working with the Fog Coast team, they were professional throughout the process, flexible when it came to setting up meetings, and worked with us during the creative and post production process. We always felt confident that the final product would be a one we'd all be very proud of and looking back, I can say we exceeded expectations.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The Fog Coast team, their understanding of the process, technology, best approach, and experience in helping ensure our success. They guided us as we moved forward, took the time to explain the benefits of considering one option over another, and shared their insights throughout the product development journey.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Our company didn't use a video conference tool at the time we worked with Fog Coast. I would add video conferencing to our meeting times, something that has become a standard post-COVID.

True to the mission Statement of Hillel SV, we create meaningful Jewish experiences for students at a time when they are making important decisions that will affect the rest of their lives.
Our staff create situations for Jewish students to interact socially, increasing the likelihood that they will meet Jewish life partners. We provide training and support for students to stand up against anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism on campuses.
Additionally, we contribute to campus cultural life by presenting programs featuring Jewish/Israeli music, arts, holidays, customs and values. We are a multi-campus Hillel that actively supports Jewish student groups at five local campuses and welcome any college age students in Silicon Valley no matter which school they attend.
Submitted by: Sarita Bronstein, Executive Director and Mitch Reitman, Assistant Director
For what projects/services did your company hire Fog Coast Productions?
Pre-production, story-boarding, filming, adding background footage, post-production.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal of the project was to create a micro-documentary to use in its fundraising activities, community and student engagement, and to build name recognition for Hillel of Silicon Valley.
We wanted a documentary that can be shown at Hillel SV’s primary fundraiser, L’Dor V’Dor in February, 2020, host on the organization’s website, and show at numerous presentations about Hillel SV throughout the year in order to:
1. Explain that Hillel of Silicon Valley (SV) serves the students at San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, Foothill College, De Anza College, and West Valley College, as well as any undergraduate or graduate student in Silicon Valley not served by another Hillel.
2. Illustrate Hillel SV’s mission and purpose.
3. Convey Hillel SV’s urgent responsibility as a Jewish educational institution within a small window of opportunity to help students navigate anti-Semitism and anti-Israel activity so they will want to live safely, proudly, and confidently as Jews and supporters of Israel.
4. Convey Hillel SV’s program approach in deepening student’s connection to Jewish life by providing meaningful experiences to learn about Judaism and Jewish life; increasing the number of students who engage in exploration and experiences that connect them to Israel; integrating students into the greater Jewish community.
5. Show how Hillel SV educates Jewish and non-Jewish students about the history of Israel and its place in the complex political landscape of the Middle East and how we help students to effectively respond and advocate on behalf of Israel.
6. Use the documentary to help us in the raising of additional funding to counter drops in foundation and Jewish Federation support.
While our audience is very supportive of Hillel SV as an organization and understands our mission and the types of programs we provide, it is becoming more and more difficult to get across the urgency of securing the future of the Jewish community, willingness of young Jewish to express their Jewish identity and support of Israel in these times of increased anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment.
The funding challenge becomes more of an issue every year because we are serving more students and programming costs are rising, but our income is not increasing in proportion to our expenses.
7. Provide a definitive message into the community about the pluralistic nature of Hillel of Silicon Valley. Religious people may think our programs are not religious or “Jewish” enough; Israelis may think that we are too religious. Some may perceive us as too Zionist in focus.
The fact is that Hillel SV creates many points of entry for students to explore their identity and connection with Israel. We are very diverse (Jewish affiliation, family background, Jewish experiences, multi-cultural, interfaith, Israeli).
How did you select this vendor?
We considered two companies. We had one referral. We reviewed similar types of videos.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The pre-production phase of this project consisted of concept development, scheduling shoot dates, formulating interview questions based on the mission, scheduling crew, location scouting.
Production (August through December 2019): The production for this project took place over a four-month span and consisted of capturing interviews of Jewish professionals, community leaders, and additional/alternative footage to accompany soundbites.
Post-Production (January-February 2020): The post-production on this project will begin after all the necessary footage is captured. Post-Production consists of logging footage, editing, color grading, stabilization, music, lower thirds, export, upload, delivery and archiving.
Delivery of micro-documentary (Rough cut January 15, 2020; final version February 1, 2020)
Show documentary at L’Dor V’Dor Fundraiser (February 9, 2020)
Show documentary at other fundraising opportunities (February through December 2020)
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Andrew at FCF was the primary producer. The team worked with us on several rounds of feedback.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Hillel of Silicon Valley had the great pleasure of working with Andrew Klein and his team at Fog Coast Productions. We needed a mini-documentary presentation about the work of our non-profit in order to make the case about the realities, opportunities, challenges that our organization faces in our work with college students.
From the very exploratory stages, Andrew was very reassuring that he can create a story board that conveys both facts and emotions. We needed something that demonstrated the many programs our organization offers while at the same time expressing how we must overcome challenges. We wanted a video that would not only help us communicate the important work we do, but also to help us in our fundraising efforts.
Andrew and his team came several times to film footage of activities. On many occasions we conveyed concern that we didn’t know how they were going to convey the challenges we wanted to show. Andrew continued to reassure us that he had a good handle on the story board.
Ahead of schedule, the first version of the video was completed. We were pleasantly surprised that the video had the right tone, conveyed the story balance we were seeking. We were given the opportunity to spend a day with Andrew to fine tune the message, and make any adjustments.
We found Andrew flexible, accommodating, and open. The video was previewed to our community at our annual fundraiser to rave reviews. Our donors and leadership said that they learned new things about our programs and challenges.
We believe the video is a terrific vehicle to meet our goals of increased visibility and fundraising. We are delighted to review Fog Coast Productions to any organization seeking to consider a similar project.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication was handled very effectively via phone calls and emails.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their team was patient, understanding, reassuring, efficient, and helpful throughout our work together.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Luma Therapeutics is a healthcare startup that specializes in home-based psoriasis treatments. As the senior director of marketing, I oversee the company’s physician and patient marketing.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fog Coast Productions?
We wanted to make a product demo video to accompany our latest product release.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Fog Coast Productions was required to develop an animated video that demonstrated the functionality and convenience of our products. We also wanted the videos to highlight the differences between similar treatments that are on the market. They began by drafting visual storyboards, which were later converted into full animations. To complete the final edits, their team provided voiceovers and visual effects.
How did you come to work with Fog Coast Productions?
I was referred to them by a colleague who had experienced success with them in the past. During our initial meeting, we were instantly impressed by their thoroughness and eagerness to work at all hours to assist us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent less than $10,000 for their video production services.
What is the status of this engagement?
They worked on the video from December 2018–January 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Although it’s too early to measure the impact that the video has had on our business, we can verify that Fog Coast Productions has improved the way that we tell our story. The animation is featured on our corporate and patient websites, and we plan to show the video at the next industry conference. We have also added their work to our investor pitch deck and webinars for prospective patients.
How did Fog Coast Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
The project was highly successful because both of our teams were committed to creating the best product that we could make. Fog Coast Productions encouraged us to give feedback during every stage, which made the process remarkably smooth.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Fog Coast Productions delivered an amazing asset in a very short timeframe. We were also delighted by their customer-first approach to business; their dedication to the project was unwavering, despite our exhaustive list of requirements and strict deadlines.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We did not experience any issues while working with them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the director of marketing at a real estate marketing automation company that serves brokerages of all sizes. I oversee all branding, content development, lead generation, and marketing operations.
For what projects/services did your company hire Fog Coast Productions?
We have many amazing clients who can share fantastic stories about the value of our service. In the past, we've always tried to capture the stories in dry case studies and short quotes. This time, we wanted to create short testimonial videos to better showcase their personalities and successes.
What were your goals for this project?
We hoped to use the video during our sales demos, in follow-ups, on the website, and at trade shows.
How did you select this vendor?
I visited a conference in San Francisco that I knew many of our clients would attend. I Googled video production companies in San Francisco, and Fog Coast Productions appeared. After speaking with several other companies and reviewing examples, Fog Coast Productions won because of their solid proposal, suitable budget, and professional and easygoing attitude. I felt confident that they knew what they were doing, that they would guide me, and that they would deliver a quality product.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
We decided to do create five videos: one client-focused testimonial, two best practices videos, and one company-focused video. We also requested on-screen text to add visual interest.
We discussed what types of questions to ask clients beforehand. During the video shoot, I asked our clients questions. I knew that gathering enough material for the videos would depend on the answers we received. After filming, we didn't have enough unique material to make the second best practices video, so we created a shorter compilation to use on social media.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
They provided a three-person filming crew and all the appropriate equipment.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We felt proud to share the videos with our clients, who were happy with how professional they looked. We've gotten great feedback from clients and plan to use the video at our 2019 trade shows!
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Their workflow and communication were great. A few weeks in advance, we talked about the flow of the shoot and discussed the questions we would ask. They gave helpful suggestions since this was our first time creating a video.
Their clear, timely feedback showed me what to expect on the day of filming. They had the first iteration ready for review soon after the shoot, and the post-production and editing moved quickly.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their flexible approach made the location and lighting work well. Amazingly, they also found the best clips without much input. Most of my edits related to choosing an intro/outro and adjusting on-screen text. The client shots were spot-on, and they did an awesome job of choosing the highest-impact dialogue.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The only thing that I'd request is to receive advice about clothing earlier. Their work and communication were high-quality, though, so I have no complaints.

I'm the marketing and communications director for the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, a philanthropic catalyst that connects Bay Area Jews to the power we have as a community to improve the world. We partner with donors, organizations, and foundations to address the pressing issues facing our community, and we develop innovative strategies that result in deep and lasting impact locally, in Israel, and around the world.
For what projects/services did your company hire Fog Coast Productions?
We needed to create several videos: one to highlight the impact of our work and one to present to a community leader. Both were critical because they'd be viewed by some of the wealthiest philanthropists and donors in the Bay Area.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted the videos to inspire and educate the audience on who we are and what we do. We also wanted them to entertain and purposely poke a little fun at the winner of our annual Sinton Award, which goes to an extraordinary life-time leader who has given time consistently to the Jewish and general communities.
How did you select this vendor?
One of our employees referred them.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
They started off by explaining the entire lifecycle of the process in advance, so expectations were set from the beginning. We collaborated on the videos, and they posted them onto a platfom that allowed us to provide edits, suggestions, and feedback on specific frames. We had three rounds of feedback until all the different complicated video components were streamlined and looked effortless.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Communication was key to making this effort successful, and their process had the perfect mixture of meetings, listening to our needs, and creative collaboration. They were highly creative in their approach, and responsive and professional. They also made it very clear that they wouldn't leave without us being absolutely satisfied with the final product, which we were.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The videos were well received, and one of them will be used throughout the year in all of our distribution channels to help people understand the nature of our work. We continue using them now to make our blog and social media presence more dynamic.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Since there are only two of them, we always felt attended to. Their success depended on our team having a unified vision.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their combination of skill, knowledge, agility, creativity, and responsiveness was impressive.
Are there any areas for improvement?
With this being a new professional relationship, we look forward to working with them. We're still improving how we communicate our needs and their translation of those needs. We did find it very helpful to have both of them in the room when explaining the projects.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the head of growth at Growth Drivers, a marketing agency specializing in scaling startups and small to mid-sized businesses in the tech industry.
For what projects/services did your company hire Fog Coast Productions?
We needed to animate seven illustrations on our client’s website in a short time.
What were your goals for this project?
Our client wanted to increase their site’s production value with more user interactivity.
How did you select this vendor?
We'd worked with Fog Coast Productions before, and their high-quality work, expert knowledge, and competitive prices made them a no-brainer. They were also easy to communicate with and willing to work within our process.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The illustrations were custom, and, once animated, had to fit within the space where they lived on the website. All of them had to be the same speed too. I requested specific parts of each illustration be animated and received an estimate quickly. We had to do a lot of problem-solving to fit the scope of work. The tricky part was that the animations had to be extremely high-quality but couldn't slow down the website.
On top of this, we had to make some changes because the animations wouldn't work perfectly with the site as it was designed and developed. Steve (Co-Founder, Fog Coast Productions) took this in stride, and we found a solution to complete the project on time and budget.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
The entire project was managed via a Google sheet I created with specific instructions for each animation. We also created a folder system within Google Drive to manage which animations needed approval and which ones had been approved.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our client is exceptionally happy with the animations and sees both longer session duration and time on page.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Because this was a one-off project, we didn't have Steve work within our normal project management system. Still, everything went smoothly. We communicated through Slack daily and had zero issues finishing the project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They worked efficiently while communicating every step of the way. Steve fit within the process I’d outlined and cooperated extremely well with our developer, which made my life easier.
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, not off the top of my head.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
My name is Anthony Palavi and I’m a co-founder of GrowthPlug Inc. We provide marketing services for doctors and dentists.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fog Coast Productions?
One of our newest clients asked us to create a video for them to leverage on social media platforms and YouTube. We don't have the capability to do that in house, so we needed to hire a video production firm.
What was the scope of their involvement?
To begin, they helped me map out the general idea for the video. They created an actual storyline instead of just talking head interviews with the doctors. They broke the video down in to different scenes, and then created scripts for the doctors. Each doctor had 1-2 sentences of information about their speciality and why viewers should come to the practice. All of that was about a two week process.
Filming took place over one day. They directed the shoot, helping the doctors get comfortable talking to the camera. They did a lot of editing, adding cutaways and different angles.
What is the team composition?
My primary contact is the executive producer, and there were three people working on the video.
How did you come to work with Fog Coast Productions?
Vetting different potential vendors was a huge process. We narrowed it down from about 15 vendors to five, and then I had a phone call with Fog Coast. My first impression was very positive, as they were really interested in drilling down to the essence of the video.
I liked that Fog Coast offered many different options, such as using a drone to take aerial footage or doing animation. Their range of capabilities made them stand out from other firms. A lot of the other videos that I saw were flat — no storyline, no build in the music — but I liked the vibe of Fog Coast’s videos.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $6000-$6500.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement took place in October 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The video hasn't been live for that long, but we’re very pleased with the quality. I really like the different angles in the video. There’s multiple shots for each interview, and they cut away every 15-20 seconds to make it more interesting. The doctors loved it; they’re happy with the creative aspects and how good it looks.
How did Fog Coast Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very proactive about getting any input from our end. They came to the doctor’s office prepared with an overview of all the shots they wanted, and they took the wheel in leading the production.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really love their wide variety of capabilities, which not every company can offer. The team was fantastic; they know what they're talking about, they know their industry well, and they know what they're looking for on a shoot.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't really think of any time where I wasn't satisfied.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Understand completely what your customer wants, and then articulate that vision to Fog Coast. Then just trust them and their process.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of digital engagement at Konversai. I work in marketing, social media, and event planning. We’re a conversation platform for sharing knowledge via live video.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fog Coast Productions?
The biggest challenge we face is communicating to users that they should share the full breadth of their experiences and not just specialties. To accomplish this, we wanted to create several impactful videos of users detailing their backgrounds. We wanted the interviews to function as content on our platform and advertisements on our social media channels. Communicating who users can connect with on the platform was the goal.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Fog Coast produced over 50 videos for us including the filming of a company event. We provided the majority of interviewees from our user base but Fog Coast brought in a few people as well. They conducted interviews, performed the editing and production, and provided all necessary equipment. I sat in on the interviews initially to ensure they were getting the material we needed. It quickly became clear they were going in the right direction so we gave them the space to deliver.
What is the team composition?
3 different crew members helped us over the course of the engagement. They’d usually work in teams of 2.
How did you come to work with Fog Coast Productions?
We used another vendor previously, but their quality of work wasn’t up to the level we needed. Fog Coast was referred to our CEO by a business consultant. Once we met with them, there wasn’t a need to consider anyone else.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent over $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together January 2017–August 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work’s had a huge impact on how we’re able to interact with our followers on social media. The videos exemplify the user’s ability to share any life experience or teach any topic using our platform. Fog Coast provided a great product that functions as our best resource when advertising the company’s capabilities.
How did Fog Coast Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
We’re flexible with deadlines and turnover rates and Fog Coast never took advantage of that. They got videos back to us within a week. Fog Coast was organized, always available on call, and reliably accommodated our changing needs.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to get people to open up during interviews was spectacular. An issue with our platform is that it makes people feel vulnerable. Fog Coast was friendly, helpful, and made people feel comfortable. This allowed them to ask interesting questions without being intrusive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t suggest any improvements from our point of view. We had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Let them do their job. They know what they're doing and if you give them the objective, they will perform.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the co-founder of a women’s fashion platform where users can mix and match outfits and share with their friends.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fog Coast Productions?
We needed help producing marketing videos to explain who we are and what we do.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve created about 10–15 videos, one of which was animated. We hired them primarily to produce these videos, but they also came in and helped us build storyboards and shot schedules.
What is the team composition?
We work with one or two of their people for our projects.
How did you come to work with Fog Coast Productions?
I’ve known their founder for a while, and he’s always been great with videos, so working with them was an easy decision. They have a good sense of humor and know how to make things funny and engaging, which was important for what we were trying to do.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $20,000–$25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in either September or October 2013, and we finished our most recent video in March 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
One of the marketing videos we did for another client has over 20,000 views. As a client, I’m happy with the work they’ve done.
How did Fog Coast Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very flexible and well-organized, and willing to make changes or reshoot scenes. We like to do things on the fly, but they’re always prepared for whatever we throw at them. Even when we make things difficult or follow a whim, they adjust.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re creative and funny. They know how to make people laugh and what will engage our audience. Today’s market is full of diluted content, so those skills are really important.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I’m satisfied with their work. They may have things they want to improve for themselves, but they’ve been great and delivered everything I asked for.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Use them during our planning process. Utilize their creativity and humor, and let them put their spin on your ideas.
Fog Coast Production was very patient throughout the partnership. They listened to detail requests and acted upon them within a tight timeframe, including an additional video that was in simultaneous production. The client also noted their high-quality work and professionalism.
