I'm the owner-manager of a holiday let agency. I provide holidays for well over 1000 customers a year, all in the seaside resort of Filey.
For what projects/services did your company hire Fly Digital, and what were your goals?
When I first launched my business with 4 properties in 2018, I designed my own website in wordpress with the help of a friend. But as I expanded my business to take on around 15-20 properties, I needed to attract more web visitors to ensure I filled the properties in my portfolio. I met with Andrew to discuss my needs, which were to do a full website redesign, including logo/ brand identity, with SEO services to ensure sufficient visitors and appear in the top rankings for searches in the area.
Andrew also suggested some creative ideas such as the "properties of the month" to keep the website fresh, and also designed it so that I could easily update the content myself as I wanted to be able to do that. My website now has many times more visitors than previously, and my properties are all fully-booked so I couldn't ask for more.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I wanted someone local, at an affordable cost, who could offer a flexible service. I met with Andrew at his house, to discuss my requirements, and I felt he was what I needed. His website redesign costs were very clear and reasonable, and he was also happy to be flexible in terms of ongoing support as I was just growing my business, so my budget was not massive, and Andrew was happy to schedule support work only when I asked for it.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
We met a few times at the beginning so that Andrew understood what I needed the website for and how people would use it. I also shared the widgets and content I wanted included from my bookings system so that it was fully-integrated and worked smoothly.
Andrew created a prototype design which I then shared with one of my clients for their views too, and we suggested some edits which Andrew was happy to make. He used some of my photos to create a colour scheme and logo and brand identity for the business. He linked to my social media to ensure a joined up approach. He made sure the website was flexible as I added more properties as it had to be scalable.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Andrew works on his own, and is always responsive to my texts and emails.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The new website had an immediate impact on web hits and bookings. Daily visits rose from under 50 a day to over 200 a day, and on some days, over 500! The website is so successful many visitors think I am the manager of the holiday village where my properties are, which shows how professional it looks, and also that it must be appearing in searches above the management company which is a multi-billion dollar international company!
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Andrew is local, and we meet when required, but generally we discuss work requirements via text or email or the phone. This suits me well. Andrew would let me know when he could schedule more SEO work for me, and let me know what he had done and why when the work was completed.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Andrew just has an amazing technical knowledge, which means he can deliver a lot quickly. They are great value for money as they sort things quickly.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I have been very happy with Andrew's work.

I am the Enterprise Development Worker for the charity Hull YFC and am responsible for founding and managing Sycamore Gardening.

Sycamore Gardening is a new enterprise. Fly Digital designed and produced our branding, marketing, website and helped us build our online presence.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I looked for a designer who struck the right balance between creativity, approachability and price.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Contact was initially made over the phone where we had a lengthly discussion about our enterprise; our context, its aims and goals. We then discussed our needs and budget. Once we were satisfied Fly Digital were a good fit, we had regular video calls and step by step worked through the work we needed doing, beginning with branding and then onto our marketing. We have an ongoing relationship.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We only ever liased with Andrew, which made the whole project so much easier, we weren't passed around to different departments and plagued with subsequent communication issues. We also avoided being passed to junior/novice designers and instead had Andrew's experienced and knowledgable involvement from start to finish.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We've been very pleased with the response to our branding and marketing. All the signs suggest it is accesible and engaging for the customers we are trying to reach. The website has brought in a lot of unexpected business and we have managed to fill our schedule much quicker than expected.
