SparkEatz App for iOS
The Challenge
Food is at the center of our culture. Free time is limited. For people who value positive experiences while dining out, available tools for finding the right restaurant can be hit or miss. One can ask friends for recommendations, browse websites or randomly choose. For people who travel, or eat out frequently, remembering places they enjoyed or places recommended by friends can be challenging. This process often leads to needless repetition. Once people find a place they enjoy or a dish they like, they tend to visit the same places and order the same things repeatedly. This pattern creates a missed opportunity to experience and explore the world of food fully. SparkEatz believes there is a better way to bring people together around food with less wasted time and frustration.
The Outcome
SparkEatz is an app for finding and celebrating "the very best of food." It's a journal; it's a social network; it's a time saver. SparkEatz allows users to bookmark restaurants they enjoy or want to try. Users can rate the restaurant, specific dishes, and experiences. Reviews can be straightforward or more detailed. When photos are included, SparkEatz feels like a memory book. The ratings and reviews allow users to recall their opinions about restaurants and dishes and keep track of future places to try. SparkEatz Discover also enables users to share experiences with others and view community ratings for restaurants and dishes. Unlike Foursquare or TripAdvisor, a user's own opinion is at the center of SparkEatz. This information considered in context with one's own opinions will allow users to make informed dining decisions and enjoy "the very best of food."

iOS & Android App - Loyalty Rewards in Salesforce
The Challenge
A leading manufacturer of exterior home improvement products, including siding, decking, and roofing needed to update their digital offerings. Their contractor and dealer targeted loyalty rewards application was on an aging platform that was being deprecated. They were already using Salesforce as a backbone of the operation, and migrating to that platform made sense. Salesforce recently launched Mobile Publisher, which allows users to access full functionality using a mobile app for iOS and Android. Their Salesforce consulting firm needed a user experience design partner to create designs for the web app and mobile app experience.
The Outcome
The resulting Salesforce Mobile Publisher App is available for iOS and Android and seamlessly integrates with Salesforce to serve contractors and dealers with a high-quality loyalty rewards experience. The web app is also accessible in a browser with a fully mobile-responsive layout. Users can access their loyalty rewards on the go and upload receipts, check requests, and spend the rewards collected on various incentives. The system is easy to administer using Salesforce as a powerful way to push real-time updates to users. Since its launch, the app has gained 5-star reviews and increased engagement among customers.

OneBreath Ventilators is funded by benevolent investors, who are more focused on the social good than the bottom line. The company was started in direct response to a growing need for high-quality medical equipment in developing markets. ChartMedic Android App
The Challenge
Medicine is complicated. Making a proper diagnosis relies on access to complete health information. Yet, the process of collecting health history is time-consuming, tedious, and error-prone. When patients come in for their appointment, they are greeted with a stack of questionnaires to complete. Doctors who already have limited time with the patient must take much of it to review responses and ask clarifying questions. This experience detracts from examining the patient, observing, and connecting to form a proper diagnosis.
The Outcome
The ChartMedic App is a patient-facing digital tool that simplifies the process of collecting health information. Simple yes, no, and multi-select questions require no typing. The app connects with the ChartMedic Clinic Portal, which is accessible to front desk and medical staff members. Responses can be quickly processed and transferred to Epic or any centralized hospital database system. The app collects the right information quickly and easily, allowing the doctor to spend more time with the patient, leading to improved outcomes.

Brown Bear Enterprise App for iOS
The Challenge
Car Wash Enterprises, Inc. has over 60 Brown Bear Car Wash locations in the Pacific Northwest. Their popular Unlimited Wash Club allows customers to get unlimited tunnel washes at any location for a fixed fee. Due to multiple internal systems lacking integration, enrollment in the Unlimited Wash Club had been a cumbersome process involving paper enrollment forms, fax machines, and full-time data entry staff entering customer data by hand into a CRM system. This process was slow and expensive, and with growing popularity, the volume made it unsustainable.
The Outcome
The Brown Bear Wash Club App is a fully integrated enterprise application, built for iOS using React Native. The system looks up customers by email, identifies the club they are attempting to activate and collects relevant information within the app. Entries are automatically submitted to a centralized CRM system, which starts the club immediately. The process takes just a few minutes and eliminates previous difficulties such as delays, difficult-to-read handwriting, and human error. The app doubled membership processing and helped to sell more club memberships.

ChartMedic Clinic Portal
The Challenge
Experienced medical practitioners understand the challenges that come along with collecting and managing patient health data. Organizations are balancing written forms with electronic medical records and ensuring that doctors and nurses have the information they need to make an accurate diagnosis during each patient appointment. Patients are asked redundant questions and often have to repeat information to nurses, doctors, and medical staff during their limited time at the doctor's office. These inefficiencies lead to confusion and less time for patients and doctors to interact.
The Outcome
The ChartMedic Clinic Portal is a web application that integrates with the ChartMedic App to centralize patient questionnaire responses. Each questionnaire is filled out in the ChartMedic App, and answers appear seamlessly in the ChartMedic Clinic Portal. WordPress Dev & Design for Medical Device Manufacturer
"Their efficiency was their strong point."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the chief medical officer at a startup medical device manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What challenge were you trying to address with Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
We had an existing outdated website, and it was difficult to update because we had to write the code ourselves. As a result, we wanted a WordPress platform that we could easily update without having to code.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team developed our website and integrated the palette and fonts that we had on our previous website, and they added some photos, too. Our platform had our company’s description and product, contact form, and blog section. They also created a downloadable brochure that would allow us to collect email addresses. On top of that, they set up our website in such a way we could easily implement SEO strategies and view our analytics.
What is the team composition?
We only communicated with one main point of contact throughout the project.
How did you come to work with Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC was recommended by our product designer. They had worked together on another project, which led us to work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $10,000–$14,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our collaboration ran from August–October 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were pretty happy with the website they created, and our investors also told us that our platform looked great. Overall, Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC did what we asked for.
How did Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?
They were on budget; we only spent what we expected to pay from the estimate they gave us. We communicated through Zoom and email. Once they moved to the implementation phase, we were able to do everything through email.
I’d say the only issue we had was with their timeline because our project stretched over a number of weeks. It wasn’t really a big deal for us because we weren’t in a hurry. At that time, I think they had people out of the office or they had too many projects, but the team finished our project just in time for us to launch it at a conference.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their efficiency was their strong point. We had a very simple project, and they were able to do everything they promised. We didn’t have any disconnect during the engagement.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we were satisfied with their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
At the beginning of our project, they presented a statement of work (SoW) and they stuck to it.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I head a small software development company called Spark Anvil, LLC.
For what projects/services did your company hire Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
We hired Flower Press Creative Studio to help us work through the interaction and visual design for a new app of ours, SparkEatz.
How did you select this vendor?
I had a personal referral to work with Flower Press from a former coworker of mine.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
SparkEatz is a mobile app for tracking the dishes you like and don't like from restaurants. I engaged Flower Press when the core of the code was already done, but needed some interaction design help as well as visual design help. We brainstormed about the ideal interaction model, worked through wireframes, and eventually got down to pixel-level visual design.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Two people. I worked directly with Khaiersta, the head of Flower Press, and with an illustrator on her team.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We ended up with a great app with smooth user flows. The app looks professional and is easy to use. Initial feedback about the app has been positive.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Our work together was very effective, coordinated through Slack and email. The Flower Press team was responsive to questions and input; they were easy to stay in touch with.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I'm most impressed with Khaiersta's interaction design skills and enjoyed brainstorming with her about different ideas on how to approach specific flows.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing big enough to mention here.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a Owner of the business. I handle accounting, inventory management and marketing.
For what projects/services did your company hire Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
We hired them to complete a redesign of our website several years ago. We have since relied on them to handle ongoing updates and maintenance for the site as our business needs have changed.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted a simple online presence that would be easy to use on mobile or desktop, with basic information about our restaurant and bar locations. We offer 24-hour food and drink menus, which we wanted to have online for customers deciding where to dine. Our previous website was quite old, and hard to maintain, and we just wanted something simple to use and manage. We received positive feedback on the website from customers and employees. We believe it serves our needs well.
How did you select Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
We had previous experience working with Flower Press Creative Studio on our printed menus. We chose them for the website work based on past experience.
Describe the project in detail.
Since the project was straightforward, we did not have a complex process to go through. Flower Press set up weekly meetings during which we planned the content for the website, with a series of wireframes. They set up a clickable prototype for desktop and mobile, which we reviewed with stakeholders. They provided color and icon suggestions, and selected photography. We provided menu content and location information for inclusion on the site. For ongoing maintenance, we contact Flower Press with updates to the menu, and they update the website content as-needed.
What was the team composition?
We worked primarily with Khaiersta English, the Creative Director, and Eric Baldoni the UI Developer who executed the build. For ongoing updates these two collaborate with us to make updates as needed.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have spent less time managing our website since the redesign. It is simple to ask Flower Press to handle updates when they are needed. We value the partnership. We have had many positive comments from customers and staff. It is difficult to quantify any direct impact on sales, however, we do believe having a professional online presence has helped present us well overall.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication has been easy. When we need maintenance it is very simple to ask for changes, and they are usually done within a few days. We also benefit from occasional suggestions for changes and updates to our website, which we consider based on turn around time and budget.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We like their diverse skill set and a single point of contact for updates. With just one email or phone call we have a whole team of experienced professionals at our disposal.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None that I can think of at this time.

Project summary:
In order to inform and influence potential customers, Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC designed both a printed menu and a custom, informational website responsive to multiple platforms.
Feedback summary:
By facilitating an ongoing partnership with a local printer and making regular updates seamless and transparent, Flower Press helped establish efficient, long-term processes for maintaining business success. The team's visually appealing products were well-received and operate on all target devices.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner and operator of Tik Tok Restaurant and Bar, an established restaurant chain in Portland, Oregon.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
We hired Flower Press Creative Studio to design printed menus for the restaurant and create a custom, responsive, and informational website.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to provide potential customers with information on location, menu items, and pricing in a simple, straightforward manner that would encourage them to select our restaurant.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
A friend recommended them.
Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?
After an initial meeting to discuss the project goals, I provided written consent and Flower Press handled the project management. We began with the printed menu, going through several rounds of design and revision. We created the website next with much of the same information but presented it in a clean and modern way. The pages were responsively designed, so they were easily viewable on desktops, tablets, or phones. Flower Press also created several informational pages in addition to the menu and customized the interface with unique graphics featuring our logo and photography.
What was the team composition?
The team consisted of the company’s founder and creative director, one senior designer, and one UI developer, all of whom were excellent.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The printed menu received positive feedback from customers. Flower Press recommended a local pre-press printer with an easy, reliable process for updates; each year, we send them our price changes, then they make the edits and send us the updated menus. The website effectively communicates our critical information, appears in search engine results, and works well on the target devices. Updates to the website are straightforward as well; we contact Flower Press directly for annual price changes.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The workflow was highly effective. Tasks were accomplished efficiently and ongoing changes were completed expeditiously.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was impressed with Flower Press Creative Studio's ability to simplify a relatively complex set of tasks. The printed menu and website are critical to our business operations; through Flower Press and the printer relationship they established for us, we're able to keep these materials well maintained and looking great year after year.
Are there any areas where they can improve?
There is nothing I can think of.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a marketing specialist at The Hunley Group, a Salesforce consulting firm specializing in building products for the construction, healthcare, and life sciences industries.
What challenge were you trying to address with Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
We needed a complete website refresh. Our site was about 10 years old, and we needed a little bit of a rebrand to bring it to 2020 with a fresher look.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started working with Khaiersta (Founder & Creative Director), giving her an overview of our company and what we do. It was a lot of getting to know each other.
After that, we began with the website before going into the rebranding, which included finding new icons and templates that would give the company a new look.
What is the team composition?
Khaiersta was my main point of contact. We also worked with Eric (Senior UI Engineer).
How did you come to work with Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
One of our team members had worked with Khaiersta before. After seeing a lot of her work and getting to know her personality, we thought she would be the best fit.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2019, and the site launched in September 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It took a lot of teamwork. Everything that came from their team gave us a fresh look. It also gave us a boost in where we want to go brand and marketing-wise. Since we launched a blog, it’s become more popular because of the draw of the updated site.
The functionality is much better. It works flawlessly, and it performs well on mobile.
How did Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?
The team always on time and within budget. Throughout the engagement, we worked virtually with their team. We used Slack and Google Hangouts.
Khaiersta spearheaded the project, and she was great about getting to know our company. We put a lot of trust in her. Eric helped with any technical items we needed. If I had any questions, he was great about answering them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Khaiersta’s ability to look at our project was impressive. Not everyone understands what we do, but she was able to give a fresh look that gives us an edge over our competitors. Her ideas set her apart.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not that I can think of. They were great at communication, and they were super quick at getting back to me.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be open with their team. They enjoy hearing ideas and working with other people. As long as you’re truthful and upfront about what you want, they’re great at making your ideas into reality.

We engaged Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC to build an application for signing up club members. We previously signed up members with a paper application, so we hired Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC to digitize that process for us.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Previously, an applicant had to fill in a paper application that we scanned and then the office would manually input their information into our system. They designed an application with creative elements that facilitated data collection to set up a membership, all while promoting the brand of our organization and company.
The app was built for the iPad. They developed it and went through the workflow, doing lots of testing to determine how the consumer interacts with it and what their process was. The app is now going to be integrated across all our offices across the region.
Finally, they’re involved with the redevelopment and redesign of our website. Our website is being redone to allow for the app to be integrated into the site. All these parts are now being integrated into a single symbiotic system.
What is the team composition?
Our main point of contact was Khaiersta (Founder & Creative Director, Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC). While we primarily work with her, there are three other people we interact with at Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC. Their team also cooperates with another third party company we hired.
How did you come to work with Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
After I told my IT group I wanted this app developed, they did some research. They presented me with 2–3 options, and I met with them all. I liked the feel of Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC the best, so I went with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent upwards of $200,000. The app they developed was around $35,000. Now that they’re doing additional phases integrating our app and redesigning our website, we’re spending more with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began work in March 2018 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Previously, we were able to process 50–100 applicants a day. Now we’re processing 100–200 applicants with ease. The app has dramatically increased productivity in our offices as they’re no longer deciphering bad handwriting and manually inputting data.
We’re also selling more club memberships as that process moves online. We’re waiting for more metrics beyond that, as we’re waiting to finish the other parts of the project.
How did Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re really good at communication. At the beginning of the project, they provide us with a scope and we have a weekly conference call where they describe the various stages of the project and what they anticipate to accomplish that week. We also evaluate what is needed from both of our ends on the calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very thorough. They try to think through all the stages of the project and find out how something will be received by an end-user and the consumer. They work through, test, and identify as many potential pinch points early on in the process in order to address and eliminate them prior to launch.
Also, their design has a very natural feel. It’s user-friendly and easy to learn.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There were some initial bumps with Apple, but Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC jumped right in and identified what needed to be fixed to rectify the situation. I thought they did a great job, and there’s nothing I’d say they should have done differently.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The more you know about what you want while going in, the better they’ll be able to deliver and meet those needs. Part of our challenge was the constant evolution and not knowing entirely what we needed.
Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC was great at modulating, adjusting, and accommodating us through that process, although it is best to skip that all together to avoid scope creep.

For what projects/services did your company hire Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC?
We launched the .page top-level domain in October 2018. As part of our launch program, Google Registry worked with people and companies who wanted to launch interesting use cases for a .page domain and could get a live website up and running on our timeline. Google Registry invited Flower Press Creative Studio and their clients to apply for the .page Anchor Tenant program.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal of the .page Anchor Tenant program was to inspire other potential registrants by showcasing interesting .page websites on our marketing website. To achieve this, we reached out to creative vendors to collaborate with us to demonstrate different ways the .page domain could be used.

Flower Press Creative Studio also worked as a facilitator with our team at Google to ensure that we had client approved assets for the launch of the promotional website in October 2018. Flower Press Creative Studio produced several pages (e.g. web.page, careerxo.page and turnthe.page), which are featured on the get.page domain as part of this effort.
What was the team composition?
I worked with Khaiersta English (Founder & Creative Director, Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC). She involved Laura Sherman (Senior Visual Designer, Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC), and Eric Baldoni (Senior UI Engineer, Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC), to build out the projects. Clients for web.page, careerxo.page, and turnthe.page provided content and approvals.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the VP of Expansion at Insurance Lounge. I work on a lot of the technology and growth initiatives.
What challenge were you trying to address with Flower Press Creative Studio?
We were looking for a vendor to help us design our website and marketing collateral.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They designed our platform, integrating our AI chatbot into the website. They've also integrated some of the core technology processes that allow people to quote their insurance on our website and become customers of Insurance Lounge. Also, they've overhauled the entire look and feel of our brand and designed a new logo and collateral for us. A lot of times, we give them a general idea of what we want done and they're able to come up with a couple of different versions, helping us decide which option will be the most efficient and effective.
What is the team composition?
We have one primary point of contact.
How did you come to work with Flower Press Creative Studio?
Our CEO knew them and reached out to them.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent about $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2013 and the relationship is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The new website design has generated a lot of growth of our business, while the new print materials have increased our presence at events in retail stores.
How did Flower Press Creative Studio perform from a project management standpoint?
They're highly adaptive and responsive. Also, they set clear expectations and timelines. When they find out that the project will take longer or cost more than initially quoted, they're very transparent about our options.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They understand our unique needs and our business very well. They listen to what we're asking them to do and put it through their own filter of expertise, often coming up with a better way to handle things. Because they know our brand history and understand our expectations, the quality of their work has got better and better over the years.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It's a very minor thing, but we'd like them to work more closely with our other vendors (for example, on social media or SEO providers). Flower Press understands our brand much better than the other companies we work with.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be open and willing to listen to what they have to say. They're experts and know what they're doing. We're very happy with the look and feel of everything they've designed for us.
Internal and external stakeholders were pleased with the website developed by Flower Press Creative Studio, LLC. They were easy to work with, and they were able to meet the client's budget. Overall, the team had a successful partnership because they delivered everything they promised.
