WHAT IS IT?
Optismed measures and assess simultaneously the work of several Machines and Operators with just one smartphone. It is settled for SMED activities.
WHAT PROBLEM SOLVED?

You must record videos for often several changeovers, to download them into PC, breakdown in small pieces and copy into Excel file, get tables and diagrams one by one, summarize and make reports under Word and Power Point. Lot of errors, delays and back and forth occur during a such a heavy process.
And when 2or more Operators are working in parallel on several machines is often impossible to keep them together in the camera eye.

Our company hired a dedicated team from Floating Dots for a full-stack range of services: Web & Mobile development and also for the management of the project in case.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to launch the product with all the features included cost efective and in the time range planned with the team and stakeholders.
How did you select this vendor?
We selected Floating Dots from a list of potential candidates that we had finalized. They were the most promising and their team showed passion and dedication for the project from the very beginning. Because of this attributes plus the Quality-Price-Ratio presented and the experience, we chose to go with the Floating Dots team.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
The project is an CRM software for the automotive industry, operable as a mobile application and also as a web based platform. The Floating Dots team took care of all the technical and managerial aspects of the project implementation from writing the specifications, UI/UX design, Agile focus, mobile development, web development, testing, delivery and support. The team made sure to respect the Agile methodologies and the structure of this was impecable as we moved along from sprint to sprint.
What was the team composition?
The project had 5 people involved: 4 developers (2 mobile, 2 web) and 1 project manager & tester.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Because the project launch was a success, we managed to keep our stakeholders, employees and clients happy by providing the services that this CRM offers.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Project management was well organized and the person responsible was highly skilled for this position. As I mentioned earlier, they we're able to keep us informed of any change/problem/status update, keep the Agile workflow and move the project in the direction we wanted without risks and unknown factors.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their skilled developers and the ability to implement a well-organized workflow set them apart. We never feared about the future of this project because the communication was great and we made sure that every aspect that presented a risk wass discussed and found a solution for. The technical implementation was very good and also the support later on.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There were few times where the schedule of different calls was a bit hard to plan.

In order to develop a completely new tools for Operational Excellence, not yet existing. It is about mobile applications making more efficient the work of experts and trainees in Lean and six sigma
What were your goals for this project?
To get ready to use this kind of new tools for having an example of how mobile technology could help us
How did you select this vendor?
From on line lists of applications development companies, I had selected 6 of them. Second step was the selection process : interviews, proposals, negotiation.
Describe the project in detail.
Once the vendor was selected, we started to develop the design of the future application, the result has consisted in a set of wireframes. Based on wireframes it followed an updated evaluation of the initial lead time and cost of project. The development starts in May with 3 weeks loops of development and on line meetings of validation of each function.
What was the team composition?
More often 1 developer, a period of time there were 2 developers working and 1 part time Project Manager
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The application is very has been very recently implemented (three weeks ago) on Apple Store and Google Play
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
All the team was very flexible and available to work together. We set together a frequent skype meeting, but when need to change the frequency they were very positive. The Floating Dots team has been willing to find solutions in areas where the initial design was a little imprecise. They took great care and importance to my remarks and requests
What did you find most impressive about this company?
There are several topics that impressed me : - their flexibility and reactivity to my requests - the great care given always to my remarks - the obstinacy to get the results
Are there any areas for improvement?
Thinking well, there is maybe one area : develop a thorough test plan before and during the different development phases. It will help to finish even faster
