Introduce your business and what you do there.
I own a gym called Me First Fitness. We do personal training, group fitness classes, nutritional counseling, and weight loss challenges.
What challenge were you trying to address with Figurus?
We needed help with our advertising, web development, and social media presence.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Figurus is a consultant for us. We often have ideas on what our website, brochures, or signs should look like. We send him a general idea via email or text, and they get back to us with suggestions. We go back and forth to create it until there’s a finished product.
They’ve developed our original website from scratch and maintained it ever since. Figurus does all the work for us; when we need updates or changes, we send an email and go through it. We constantly update the site throughout the year.
Also, they help us with print and advertising. As long as everything is on-brand with the business, we’re open to suggestions. We generally provide most of the content because we know more about our business. However, they always give us recommendations on what would look good or attract clients, so we work together on the content.

We work specifically with the owner.
How did you come to work with Figurus?
I’d known the owner for about 15 years. Initially, he worked for a printing company that printed all my business cards and fliers. Then, he got into web development, so I went from doing my print advertising with his company to doing my website and everything else.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent roughly between $80,000–$100,000 CAD (approximately $62,000–$77,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with the owner back in July 2008, around the same time I started my business. The company wasn’t created yet, but I’ve been with him since then.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
As long as our sales keep going up each year, we figure their efforts are working.
How did Figurus perform from a project management standpoint?
They do really well. Figurus’ team works just like ours — the correspondence is fast and goes back and forth. They give us what we want and are organized. If we need to have a video call, we do it, but we usually handle most of the communication through email. We also use project management tools. For example, we use online video chats, screen sharing, and Google One to share everything.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’ve dealt with many companies, and we’ve found that communication with Figurus is reliable, fast, and easy. Moreover, they do exactly what we want. If we have a vision, they make it come to life, and any changes needed are easy to do. They’re just great people to deal with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Although there’s always room for improvement, I honestly can’t think of anything.

I’m the president of the Toronto Musicians’ Association, a labor union representing professional musicians in the greater Toronto area of Canada.
What challenge were you trying to address with Figurus?
We needed their expertise in custom software development to link our ERP system with a WordPress website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Figurus has initially helped us improve our ERP system by building additional UI solutions to enable contract and member management. Upon accomplishing their first deliverables, they’ve then synchronized this with our WordPress and member platforms, with the latter based on FileMaker and MoneyWorks.
Apart from conducting API integrations and syncing various data points across our internal and external systems, Figurus is building another website for our company.

Figurus initially stepped in to help our previous developer accomplish our platform, and we then assigned more tasks to them as our needs grew.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Figurus has built a reliable system that’s saved us $350,000 worth of annual salaries — their solutions have automated our data entry processes, so we’ve been able to staff down from seven to two resources. Additionally, the system has also been helping us optimize our customer service, which boosts our company image.
How did Figurus perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate via email and Zoom and manage the project using Trello. Figurus has a level-headed and cost-effective approach that allows us to meet our goals on time — without breaking the bank. They also generate productive insights and respond quickly to our needs with their efficient ticketing system.

For what projects/services did your company hire Figurus, and what were your goals?
I wanted the Figurus to re brand my Accounting firm as well as my Financial Services having a more updated look, and make it easy for clients to find what they are looking for.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
The company came as a referral from one of my clients, everything that was talked about happened on time and in very professional way.

I met with the company to go over what I was looking to do, and what I didn't want, as well as they gave me ideas to make it more appealing to my clients

Once the site went live I had many client state ( about time you upgraded your site). So much positive feed back and the new web site has attracted more people than ever before.

We had a few updates as things went on including adding a few new ideas and deleting some. everything went live before the date it was intended to.
