Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder and COO of a startup called Smile Genius. We are in the dental industry and we are located in Dublin.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fibonalabs?
Our core target audiences are clinics or dental practitioners. We realized that there was a loophole in the market when it comes to the dental ecosystem; patients’ treatment data were very fragmented and spread out across different platforms. The solution was to align them and bring all the data into one platform. That is why we hired Fibonalabs to help us design and develop our web app and website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We wanted to create a platform that could connect laboratories, clinics, and patients. Our idea was to put together a full suite solution that could unify data and save dentists from having to go into 6–7 different platforms.
We asked Fibonalabs to design, develop, and test a prototype based on those ideas. They built our SaaS product from start to finish, developing the native app in JavaScript. The team helped us through each and every step of production and handled the documentation as well.
We also asked the team to build a web-based portal for laboratories and clinics, since the Android & iOS app they developed was meant to be patient-facing only. The website houses functionalities for booking appointments and modules for monitoring patient treatment and conducting teledentistry.
What is the team composition?
We have worked with several people from their team. We initially communicated with the director of business development, the director of design, and the head of technology. They then brought in the second-level design team which consisted of senior app developers and senior testers. It was a parameter approach where we worked from the top to the medium-level members.
How did you come to work with Fibonalabs?
My business partner and I initially started looking for an individual full-stack developer with in-depth skills. Against what our early assumptions were, however, we went on to look for a professional company that had an established clientele, a good reputation, and a diverse set of expertise. That was when one of my colleagues recommended Fibonalabs.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent around €20,000 (approximately $23,000 USD) so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We formally started the project around January–February 2021. We are still working with Fibonalabs and will be investing more in the further development of the product.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Fibonalabs has successfully brought our idea to fruition. Dentistry is a complex domain but Fibonalabs has been able to translate our requirement into a final product that’s better than what we anticipated.
We’ve gone into the beta testing stage, with the product currently being used by three different clinics and seven different patients. We’ve also gathered qualitative feedback from the actual market, which includes labs in Germany and in the UK, and we’ve found that the UI and functionality of the website and app are absolutely fantastic. The design and architecture have been done very well.
How did Fibonalabs perform from a project management standpoint?
Everyone from the Fibonalabs team has a high level of commitment and all of the senior people are involved in the project, which is brilliant. The project managers monitor the discussions, record the sessions, send feedback, and ask questions. Everything is very clearly and efficiently managed.
FIbonalabs is also good at communicating consistently. We have weekly standup meetings, daily calls, and five-hour marathon workshops. They inform us regularly about the budget, notifying us if we are about to go over it.
They never make an assumption; they always ask us if a certain requirement isn't clear and double-test everything. The quality of their work is exceptional and more than what we expected from anyone in the industry.
We mainly use Google Meet on our end while they use Microsoft Teams. We also communicate through Jira WhatsApp, email, and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Fibonalabs has a strong design team. They’re able to convert our idea into a two-dimensional prototype, which shows that they have really good qualifications and experience.
No matter the department, they’re all very professional and time-conscious. Even though they’re based in India, they work flexibly with us on our schedule.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We had some concerns but once we started working with them, those went away. The team was very much capable of not just understanding what we needed, but also delegating it to their team rather than having us looking into who should be working on what.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very specific and clear with your project requirements. Make sure that you work with Fibonalabs closely because they’re very helpful and professional. I would also recommend that you spend a good amount of time capturing the requirements in the design phase. Don't cut corners when it comes to development and testing.
Go ahead and engage with Fibonalabs as soon as possible because they, in my opinion, are the right company to work with.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director and founder of Teclever Solutions, a computer software company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fibonalabs?
We needed help with UI/UX design for a cloud platform. We also needed help with the complete design and development of a sales performance tool for one of our clients.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Fibonalabs has been part of the complete design and development of both projects. We already had something in mind for the functionality we wanted to achieve with these projects, so they took it from there and designed the complete UI/UX.
We used a lot of Figma for the UI/UX design of our Cloud platform. For development, they used React and Node.js, and they integrated the platform with AWS. As for the sales performance tool, we used Adobe for the UI/UX design.
The sales performance tool helps a consumer goods company in the US with campaign management. Using it, our customer can upload their products to the marketplace and manage the campaigns for them.
The other project serves as a document management system. The complete documentation for acquisitions is managed in this secure setup hosted on AWS.
What is the team composition?
Four people from Fibonalabs are working on each project, but I only have a main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Fibonalabs?
Someone referred Fibonalabs to me.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $45,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The UI/UX delivered by Fibonalabs has been great, and we’ve seen a significant improvement in user engagement. Additionally, they worked in such a way that time to market was much better than expected.
How did Fibonalabs perform from a project management standpoint?
Fibonalabs’ project management is good. They stick to timelines, so we haven’t had any issues on that front. We communicate via Zoom, Google Meet, and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Fibonalabs’ insight into UX design is really good, and we have healthy communication, so we’ve continued working with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There isn’t anything I’d have them improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear with your requirements and give them as much information as possible.

Web & Mobile Dev for Logistics Company

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of a logistics company. We work in the B2B bulk cargo sector and bring shippers and truckers together on a platform. The shippers are consignment owners who want to move materials from point A to point B, and they hire the truckers to do the job for them.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fibonalabs?
Moving materials like coal, cement, and steel requires a lot of support and paperwork at the loading point. We’re in a very complicated logistics business that isn’t well-built. We needed someone to develop a technical platform to better enable our business. The majority of this ecosystem lives in paperwork, and there aren’t many tech-savvy users. We wanted to make a difference in our sector.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We reached out to Fibonalabs with a big scope and asked how it could be digitized. Their team analyzed the requirements and divided the scope of the project into categories so they could build the technology for the front- and backends, as well as mobile apps.
They allocated some resources and started development. We had a few meetings with each other, and then they put together the plan. We agreed to the plan, and they executed it. They developed one web app, three mobile apps, and a big platform to manage everything. Our apps are only for Android because most of our clients don’t use iOS.
What is the team composition?
We started the project with three people, but we shifted to 9–10. Throughout the project, we had a key contact person.
How did you come to work with Fibonalabs?
We were introduced by a common contact.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from June 2019–August 2020. We had a short break in the middle of the project for a couple of months due to internal reasons.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The majority of investors and users who looked at the app liked the usability and how it was presented. We attribute the majority of the credit to the designers and developers.
How did Fibonalabs perform from a project management standpoint?
Fibonalabs didn’t get involved in a lot of the project management. I took care of it and managed their whole team. I had a monthly management meeting with them because I wanted them to provide direct feedback to the team I was managing from the product perspective.
We worked in a Scrum methodology. Communication with management was very good; we talked openly about the problem and what needed to be done. The communication became better and more in-depth as the project went on.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Fibonalabs’ management team is comprised of good listeners. They listened to the problems and challenges, and they tried to address them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Fibonalabs can improve on a lot of things, all of which I conveyed to them directly. Specifically, they can groom a team, which is more difficult than appointing a team to a specific project. That would give newcomers more opportunities to learn and interact with seniors on the team. They should be able to ask for direction and suggestions.
When Fibonalabs deploys candidates to a team, they should be looking at whether they’re fully capable of executing the project. For example, if the client needs a frontend team member, they should be trained on that. They should also think about how much experience the teammates have and whether they’ll be able to handle the complexity that a project requires. That’s very important when assigning teammates to a project.
We had a lot of delays in terms of delivery. We should have launched by April, but the release was delayed until the end of August 2020. The performance was a bit lesser than what we’d ideally wanted, and that was because of the execution team, not management.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend talking to them and ensuring that your allocated resources have the proper knowledge and experience for your project.
Fibonalabs has successfully built a fully functional app and web-based portal. Their all-around commitment and high-level involvement allowed for clear delegation and efficient delivery within the team. Their flexibility, professionalism, and punctuality are also highly appreciated by the client.
