SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

To start, we gave Fayrix all of the functional requirements and our business idea. Their team handled all stages of development, including creating the wireframes. They developed the apps for both iOS and Android, and they also built the backend CMS.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with a project manager, who served as my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Fayrix?

They were the best choice for us out of all the companies we considered.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $100,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement ran from February–September 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The apps function as expected, so our employees now have the ability to communicate effectively with each other. We’ve received positive feedback from our HR team, also, because it takes them less time to introduce employees to the company. We’ve seen an increase in motivation from our employees, too.  Overall, the applications have solved the issues we wanted it to, and Fayrix fixed any issues we had.

Their project management approach was good. We had Skype calls and used a Jira dashboard. We had full access to their progress, and everything was delivered on time and within the budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were excellent in communicating with us—it was nice to work with their team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would’ve been nice if we had no bugs, but they fixed any that occurred.

Most of it was written in Java and MySQL. The frontend was quite simple, but the backend had a complex integration with different platforms. We provided the design for the product.

What is the team composition?

The team consisted of 15–18 members. There were developers, project managers, and business analysts involved.

How did you come to work with Fayrix?

How did Fayrix perform from a project management standpoint?

We regularly communicated with senior backend developers. During the project and through all milestones, we had regular meetings to discuss functionality timelines and questions. We could always direct ask backend developers about something. They used Jira. We put our plans in Microsoft Project. We also used Google Sheets in every project. They are great with management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Not every software company can make all milestones on time because there are many complicated things—these can include deployment errors, functional defects, or configuration problems. However, Fayrix works at a very high level. Their technical knowledge is very strong.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We had agents, but we didn’t have enough clients to start a company. We needed help with lead generation.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still earning money with the approach they developed. The system helps me get new clients and obtain data in the travel market. We're able to work with VIP travelers and have data on useful information such as location and hotel features information.

We’re completely satisfied with their service level. We had a dedicated manager who helped solve our issues. We used email, Skype, and in-person meetings.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Mail.ru Group is the largest IT company in Russia. I'm a product manager there.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Fayrix?

We were working on a cloud project for the company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fayrix helped us build a data science model for machine recognition. The solution is part of a B2B solution for companies that require computer vision, specifically for locations with too many visitors for employees to track manually. We provided documentation to their team and a pilot integration we had made in the form of a web app.

The app they built is used for analyzing photos made during exhibitions. A user can use a computer or a mobile device to take a picture of their face, based on which our system will identify all photos featuring them.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three data scientists, an architect, a full-stack developer, and a project manager from Fayrix’s team.

How did you come to work with Fayrix?

I saw their LinkedIn profile and visited their website. They had good pricing, so I gave them a test project. They delivered a working result, so I chose them for a collaboration.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of their work has been around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around February 2018. We've also developed another project, which involves video recognition and are prolonging the contract.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The application is currently functional and people are able to obtain photo matches through it. We showcased it at an exhibition in Moscow, where around 1,000 people came to our stands and interacted with our computers. The app successfully sent them the pictures afterward, and we haven’t had any significant bugs or issues. Our developers haven’t said anything bad about the team or the code they produced.

How did Fayrix perform from a project management standpoint?

They're using the agile methodology, with two-week sprints. They typically invite us to their sprint planning sessions over Skype. We're working remotely as it hasn’t been necessary for the project to meet them in person. We’ve been able to integrate their data-science work into the project. The work was done fast and well.

Jira is the corporate project management system in our company, and it was comfortable for me to use it with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve been able to resolve any issue we’ve had, quickly and without the need to modify our contract. They're an open-minded team, which has made it a pleasure to work with them.

We are very impressed with their professional approach to business communication. They always look at the situation from our point of view, and they have a real passion for solving problems and getting things done. They don’t just close projects formally, but provide high-quality results that are sometimes beyond the task’s initial scope.

How did you come to work with Fayrix?

We made a public bid and gave each candidate a small test. Fayrix had some of the best results, and they provided a good quote. Since we had an existing collaboration, the process was easier for the second project.

How much have you invested with them?

The first project cost $1.5 million. The second one had a cost of around $900,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first project with Fayrix ran between May 2015 and June 2016. Our second project with Fayrix started in September or October 2016 and ended in September 2017. We have begun a conversation about a new project with Fayrix, implementing a new data analysis component.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have been satisfied with the results for all the test cases we considered. Fayrix did their best to correct any mistakes and fulfill additional requests. The platform is used by 20 or more clients, each with their own customizations.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a managing director for a mobile and web platform that acts as a personal in-flight guide. The app was developed primarily for anxious passengers. It provides real-time explanations of everything happening during a flight like aircraft movement, unfamiliar sounds, and passenger sensations.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Fayrix?

We needed help with app development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked together to develop our iOS and Android app. They helped us with all the technical questions. We collect professional aviation data beforehand, analyze it, translate it into human language, and present it to the user. While onboard the airplane, the app uses telephone device sensors to detect the flight stage. Algorithms translate the information that was collected beforehand and provide it to the user at the right moment, even when the phone isn’t connected to GPS or Wi-Fi.

They helped with graphic design and UX design. When the customer downloads their flight information, we upload the information about their flight. The app provides the calculated route on a color-coded turbulence map so the passenger knows what to expect in route. They receive messages while on the airplane explaining how flaps work, why there’s turbulence, and why the light is flashing before taking off. It also provides points of interest they’re flying over. It’s also available in different languages.

What is the team composition?

We had a couple of developers for iOS and Android, the engineers, and a project manager. We had a project manager on our side as well.

How did you come to work with Fayrix?

They were recommended to us as a reliable software developer.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $50,000-$199,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2016 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app is working well. It has been downloaded by 80,000 users around the world. We have paying customers as well. We’re happy.

The app has helped anxious flyers to improve their travel experience. We’ve done a good job providing that help to people.

How did Fayrix perform from a project management standpoint?

The process has been smooth. They answer all our questions. We use email and phone calls to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very receptive and very professional. They’re always ready to offer solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We’re quite satisfied with everything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be ready to sit down, discuss, and share your vision. If there are new ideas that come, make sure to communicate them.

Mobile apps developed on the platform regularly host millions of users without issues. Fayrix has established an accessible, efficient workflow with the in-house team, who appreciate their professionalism, technical competency, and straightforward communication style.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a large contractor for government organizations. We make solutions for Moscow City Administration and Moscow City infrastructure, and we provide multiple government organizations with mobile applications made on our single mobile platform. I’m the partnership manager.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Fayrix?

We needed help with mobile app development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us create our mobile platform using Java, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. It’s enabled us to generate mobile applications with any functionality, which we deliver to original administrations and governmental organizations in Moscow.

The app was developed for iOS and Android. They completed only the development work; our in-house team provided the design and marketing. They continue to support us as we make changes to the platform.

What is the team composition?

They provided eight developers, four or five QA managers, and one project manager who briefs the developers. On average, there’s about 35 people with different functions between their team and ours.

How did you come to work with Fayrix?

We looked at seven companies and we chose Fayrix based on the references provided and their prices.

How much have you invested with them?

$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2011 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The Moscow IT Department just informed us that the first application has about 2 million users. In our city, around 1,000,200 people use the application. Our other applications serve a small audience of several hundred users, and the single mobile platform is used by about 100 users within our company.

I haven’t had any negative feedback. We have a very good working relationship with Fayrix.

How did Fayrix perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Skype for video, audio, and chat. Communication is comfortable. The team has weekly progress reports and daily briefings through Skype. It was quite transparent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are always online, and we are always in touch with them. Their work is transparent, which is important when working with resources outside the company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

All the guys are professional.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a try. If you have some doubts, ask for a small trial project. You’ll see that they can do what you want.

The well-received app provides users easy access to the market's response to their product. Fayrix' solutions-oriented approach puts customers at ease. Their creativity, knowledge, and technical ability are hallmarks of their high-quality work.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a product owner at a company that develops products to analyze social media and mass media. Our system collects data from a wide range of sources and aggregates the information so it can be analyzed. We produce messaging and infographics to help our clients make sense of the information, such as how their brand works in the market and any negative feedback.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Fayrix?

We wanted to develop a mobile application for our customers. We didn’t have an iOS developer in-house and we needed to develop an app quickly because our managers wanted to see the product as soon as possible.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wrote documentation for Fayrix because we wanted to reproduce our web system in a mobile application. They provided us several design mockups to choose from and then began developing the application. The iOS application allows users to click on reports and see a list of messages. The user also sees the mood of each message: positive, negative, or neutral. There are several graphics that show how many messages about the brand appear in the news over a selected period of time. There is also a search function to filter messages by keyword.

What is the team composition?

There were five people on the team. There were two iOS developers, a designer, a project manager, and a test specialist.

How did you come to work with Fayrix?

Our search identified several companies. We sent them all a simple pilot project as a test. We sent them our idea and asked them to provide mockups and a short description of how it should be done. We chose Fayrix because their submission was really good.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $60,000-$70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them between April–August 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of the application was great and our managers were satisfied. We don’t have many users, however, because our company decided to focus on the web-based system and not iOS. Fayrix did great work and provided good results.

How did Fayrix perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a really easy, comfortable relationship with the project manager. We discussed features together and he and his team helped with some ideas. There were no issues with communication. We used Jira and Skype to stay in touch every day.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They made me very comfortable because they clearly understood what they’re doing. Sometimes I didn’t know how we could solve a problem, but Fayrix always helped us identify solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I didn’t have any problems with them. It was a short project and they did well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Fayrix can develop good quality products in a short period of time.
