I am the CEO and founder of RS Eco Palm, a sustainability consultancy firm based in Malaysia.
For what projects/services did your company hire Excelfixer Sdn Bhd, and what were your goals?
As the pandemic struck us hard in 2020, we decided to innovate and bring digital solutions to agriculture players in Malaysia. Our goal was to develop a super responsive mobile application across both ios and Android platforms in a short span of time. So speed was the key.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We shortlisted 3 potential vendors to work with and had 2 key factors that we based them against. One was speed of delivery & response, the other was the team itself. After interviewing all 3 vendors, we found Excel Fixer to be extremely efficient with their short timelines while remaining flexible in their approach.

We started off with discovery meetings to highlight our working protocols and project goals. We then provided Excel Fixer with a framework to base the mobile app on. After agreeing on a detailed timeline, Excel Fixer provided us with a prototype within a month and continued to improve the functionality and UI/UX within the next 3 months.

Excel Fixer provided us with 1 Technical Lead and 2 managers for us to work with and were very responsive to provide clarifications and support whenever we needed them, even if it was after working hours.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were very impressed with the functionality of our app as we needed it to be very responsive for agriculture players in Malaysia. We managed to receive our app in full operational condition (with minimum bugs and fixes required) within 4 months.

As the pandemic restricted any physical interactions, we did not feel challenged to reach out to their team as and when we deemed necessary. We held our meetings via Zoom and had no trouble getting in touch with their key personnel via text/email whenever required.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
As this was our first time releasing an app, Excel Fixer did not make us feel overwhelmed with developer jargons and made the discussion very customer friendly. They provide useful guidance on the functionality and UI/UX that attracted more agriculture players to use the app.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Their service has been really good. Moving forward, we would definitely appreciate an existing customer loyalty program as we have more apps lined up in the near future. Kudos.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of revenue at SUBHOME Management, a hospitality company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Excelfixer Sdn Bhd?
We have a new product called VIP Pass, which is a virtual voucher that’s sold to the guest in order for them to book a room in our hotel. I needed someone to build a system where the customer could check for availability and book and cancel online, so we hired Excelfixer.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Excelfixer created a WhatsApp bot that automatically answers our guests and clients who need to address their issues. This was the first project I had with them.
When users send a message, WhatsApp replies with option after option until the user’s question is answered. Messages are then recorded and stored in a Google Drive. Whenever I want to look at the inquiries, I can always view the history of the conversation with a guest.
We were so happy with the outcome that we asked them to do the portal as well. I used to do voucher redemptions through email, where our customers booked manually, but Excelfixer developed a voucher redemption portal for us from scratch. The portal is a website but is accessible through mobile. The first phase of the development was having a little issue but they made updates and fixed all the issues and bugs.
I provided the team with documents that explained who my customers are, what vouchers they have, and which voucher they use. They helped me to load that information into the new system so that I don’t have to worry about my previous data.
I came up with another voucher system and they’re now helping with that.

I work with the CEO and one other person from the team.
How did you come to work with Excelfixer Sdn Bhd?
The CEO used to be a colleague of mine. When he told me he was building his own business, I contacted him to see if he could help me with my project. Excelfixer had a cheaper offer compared to other companies we looked into, so we decided to go with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2020 and the engagement is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It is a very simple system but had a lot of bugs when they first built it. They improved it very quickly as they went. I now have a full, smooth-running system that is helping me with a lot of things.
Initially, there was still some manual work from our end in terms of calculating the vouchers, but now, everything is in the system. Every 2–3 months, they would have a new update or new features added to the system without any additional charges.
How did Excelfixer Sdn Bhd perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate through WhatsApp. Every time we ask for a new feature, Excelfixer gives us a deadline and meets it, sometimes even delivering ahead of time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re a young company with only two people, but they have delivered the work really fast.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing that has made me unhappy. They could hire more people, though.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I highly recommend working with Excelfixer. The quality of their work is very good and they meet deadlines. Their services are very affordable.

They continue to serve us despite the project ending, with our queries on the website minor formatting changes or small revisions of the website, where required.

Extremely easy via short online calls/meetings, or they come to our office in KL. Timeline-wise, delivery was done 1 week prior to the deadline.

We have now reduced our time to produce reports from the previous 7 working days from when the data is ready to now 4 working days, also, we save alot of man-hours on the data cleaning process.

The major communication tool was using Whatsapp. Their response time throughout the development was excellent. They met the timeline for the project in less than six months

They should better present their company services as it was not clear that they do also offer statistics regression capability from their company profile.

Videsaur is a video sharing platform which allows users to upload download and share their favourite videos. Excelfixer build the whole website and app which is running on AWS. Currently they are maintaining our website.

We were having a difficult time following up with our potential clients. We initially were using Google sheet to follow up but we were not doing a good job and hence decided to hire Excelfixer to fix our problems. They did a very fantastic system and delivered it in no time. We were happy with the system they designed that solved all our problems.

We found them online and they were a start up, hence we felt we could negotiate for a good deal. They promised a refund if we are not happy with their work. They showed a lot of confidence in their ability. Hence, that was their selling point plus the cost!

After minimum bugs and fixes, Excelfixer Sdn Bhd passed the project on time. Plus, the platform was as responsive and operational as expected. Communication-wise, the vendor was able to explain complicated but useful matters in a beginner-friendly manner.
