I am the global marketing director at Boss Equity, a merger and acquisition technology company and growth organization. We work in the software tech sector internationally.

What challenge were you trying to address with Eton Digital?

We were conducting a rebrand and needed help with development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Eton Digital recreated our website from scratch and transferred much of the content from the old version. They helped us with a complete rebrand to achieve a new look and feel. The site is for both internal and external use. We had built up quite a large customer base over 15 years and didn’t want to lose that following, so they made to link the original. A variety of features tell users about our company including who we are and our resources. The numerous site pages include an “about us” section, news items, and podcasts.

Eton Digital also developed some secure landing pages where we can host our customer mandates and people who are potential acquirers of both businesses. After they sign an NDA, we send them an invitation with a password to log in and view private information.

Setting up the website from its inception to getting it up and running took about three weeks. Eton Digital completed all the backend work. They liaised with me and our CEO about how we wanted the frontend to appear for our visitors. The suggestions they made throughout that process were very constructive. They were careful to fulfill our exact requests.

What is the team composition?

Marko (Quality Assurance and Project Manager, Eton Digital) was our main point of contact. We worked with between 3–6 people from their team at any given time.

How did you come to work with Eton Digital?

One of my colleagues knows the owner, who is based in the UK. The development team performs the work from their office in Serbia. They have been great all the way through.

How much have you invested in them?

We invested between $40,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on this project together from October 2016–January 2017.
 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our engagement has gone very well so far. The redesigned platform is easy to access, and our users enjoy it. We’ve been able to drive all our current and prospective clients to the new site. Despite the volume of content it houses, the new layout makes it simple for users to find whatever they need. 

Eton Digital carried out all the work we requested and even made suggestions for improvement. Now, we have them on a monthly retainer to take care of any bugs or crashes. This arrangement has proven so useful I wish we’d started using it sooner. Checking the entire platform each month helps the team stop any glitches before they become a problem. Half the time, they resolve issues before we even notice them. 

How did Eton Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Eton Digital has been great from a project management perspective. I am responsible for management from our end.  We regularly send them a massive amount of information to process, and they’ve performed very well. 
Our project manager ensures everything flows smoothly and progresses in a timely fashion. We communicated via email most of the time and used Skype occasionally. Currently, the project management tool we use is Redmine.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Eton Digital has both very strong technical skills and the ability to interpret and produce what we wanted.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We are continually tweaking and evolving the process of how we offer services to our clients. The process will continue to change due to the evolving nature of our work; it’s not a reflection of anything Eton Digital has or hasn’t done.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you take the time to brainstorm and discuss the project. Eton Digital has great ideas and suggestions to offer.

We hoped that once our website was complete, we could become the leading marketplace for this kind of content.

We created a short list of global vendors, reviewed their portfolios, and asked for cost estimates. We determined that Eton Digital was well-suited for this project.

Eton Digital designed and developed our website, made recommendations for cloud services, and developed our iOS application. They continue to provide SEO services and other marketing support.

We have worked with a project manager, front- and backend developers, a website designer, a DevOps manager, an iOS developer, and an administration team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Eton Digital delivered a functional website and mobile app. Our platform is live and has a community of more than 200,000 members in more than 170 countries.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We worked in two-week sprints using an agile method. We operated well within Jira, and Eton Digital managed to deliver on all of their commitments.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are committed to building strong and healthy relationships with their clients. The ownership team is engaged with the project, and they ensure a transparent and communicative partnership.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, nothing specific for their team. We chose to leave product testing to our marketing team, which cost us time, so I’d recommend that testing be defined and included in the scope of any project.
