I am VP of Software Engineering at a small retail data analytics startup.

For what projects/services did your company hire Epicmax, and what were your goals?

We had some ideas for a web portal for our customers, but don’t have the staff internally to do it. We wanted a website that users could log into and view dozens of different statistical reports.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Epicmax reached out to me directly. I looked around for other similar services and found Epicmax’s familiarity with our tech stack a great fit.

We selected a portal UX layout. From there I broke down the things we wanted from the web portal in priority order and added cards to Trello. The Epicmax team got right to work, communicated clearly with us when there was some ambiguity or question. We started with authentication, added authorization, routing, and basic layout tweaks.

We worked with Andrei (leader/manager), Pavel (developer), Maxim (developer), and Yauheni (technical leader).

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our web portal began seeing regular customer usage early. We had very few customer-facing bugs and were able to fix a few things we hadn’t thought about before they became big problems. We are a (small-a) agile shop and prefer to get something in the hands of our customers and iterate rapidly — the Epicmax team was a great partner for that model.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We used Trello almost exclusively, occasionally using Slack for out-of-story kinds of questions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Everyone on their team had a great work ethic. We feel we have a good partnership with them and hope to be able to give them more work in the future.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing specific for the Epicmax team, but working with a fully remote team requires you to be able to break down your requirements into clear deliverables. Early on I didn’t quite grasp this and was frustrated at the level of detail I needed to supply. Once I realized my mistake, we made adjustments in how we communicated.

I’m the CEO of a medical billing company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Epicmax, and what were your goals?

We hired Epicmax to develop a completely new version of our existing web application.

How did you select Epicmax and what were the deciding factors?

Initially, we needed to build a new VueJS frontend for our application. Afterwards, we also decided to develop a .NET Core backend for our new platform.

I had been looking for individual VueJS freelancers when Andrei (Epicmax CEO) contacted me. I was impressed by EpicMax's Open Source projects and decided to work with their team on a small side project. My team loved the result of that collaboration, so we moved on to having EpicMax develop the next version of our main platform.

Most of the time the team consisted 2 developers: 1 frontend and 1 backend.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our collaboration resulted in a new version of our platform that is modern and user-friendly with a great architecture.

Epicmax had no excessive management on their end, and I appreciated that. They provided capable, professional developers who worked directly with our team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I loved that Epicmax is a team of great individuals. Together, we formed a united team that cared about the product and each other.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Our time zones could be closer, but we found ways to effectively work together in spite of that difficulty.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder and CEO of the company called Clipping Path India. We provide photo-editing services to ecommerce and product photography business.

For what projects/services did your company hire Epicmax?

Needed help developing a complex front-end application for our photo-editing production application.

What were your goals for this project?

Our in-house team was good at backend but not VueJS, and we chose VueJS because our research told that it's a great framework. So we needed help doing the front-end part on time to help speed up the development of our app.

How did you select this vendor?

I tried Upwrok but wasn't confident with the candidates, then I posted a job at Vuejobs and quite a lot of people submitted proposal including Epicmax. And we finally hired them because we thought they are the most relevant and experienced people in this field, and later on we found exactly that.

We provided them UI design and they mainly provided VueJS development on the app. The original app is developed using Ruby on Rails.

What was the team composition?

There was one main contact person for administrative purposes, and one main developer. But at some point they offered me adding an additional developer to support. I also found the second developer to be experienced and good.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Their quality of code, organisation and overall project management made it a happy going. They only charge for the time spent, and they are efficient at what they do. The way they organise the project, makes it very easy and quick for feature implementation and bug fixes, love it!

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We managed the project via a Trello board and Github for the repository. No issues with that, in-fact it is a pleasant experience.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They know what they do, they are polite, honest and cooperative.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Well, I could say that they also provide backend development, but I don't want to say that because I like the way they keep focusing on VueJS and specialise just on that. It's better to be good at one thing than trying to be good at many :) Can't find anything else that could be improved.

I'm the president of an e-learning SaaS startup.

For what projects/services did your company hire Epicmax?

We needed development of a new e-learning portal using Vue.js framework, along with a new drag and drop course-building platform through which we could build online lessons using a Vuex interface.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a frontend team that would do custom UI/UX design with excellent attention to detail. We also wanted to adopt atomic design patterns in order to turn our existing UI library into Vue.js components.

How did you select this vendor?

I found Epicmax through their work on Github.

They developed our portal using Vue.js and turned our robust frontend designs into Vue.js components. They then used Vuex to integrate backend APIs to the newly designed frontend and to create our course-building platform.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a dedicated developer who quickly adapted to our requirements.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Their work allowed us to deliver our course-building platform three months early, while the e-learning portal is also three months ahead of schedule. We’ve also created mockups for two new applications that we weren’t considering at the start of the engagement.

We managed the project on our end.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are very efficient, and they’re good listeners who always respond to us.

I’m the CEO of Flatlogic LLC, a software development company based in Minsk, Belarus. I’m responsible for strategic development and execution.

We sell an admin dashboard template built with HTML5. At the time, we didn’t have enough in-house resources to develop a version of our product with Vue.js. We partially outsourced this job to Epicmax.

What were your goals for this project?

Since we’re selling our product’s source code to thousands of developers, it’s important that it’s very high quality.

How did you select this vendor?

Epicmax is Minsk-based, which was crucial for us since they were developing parts of our core product. We wanted to be in control and be able to reach them quickly if necessary. They also had a team of engineers with a proven background.

They built several pages and components based on Vue.js and integrated them with our templates. We contributed design materials and code guidelines.

We worked with one developer from Epicmax. Andrey (CEO, Epicmax) oversaw our project and acted as our main point of contact.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The product is selling pretty well, and we’re satisfied with our customers' feedback. Epicmax’s contributions helped us a lot.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their communication was transparent and straight forward. Andrey and his team don’t get bogged down by bureaucracy, so we were able to concentrate on development.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They’re young, fast, and transparent. I wouldn’t expect any trouble from this vendor.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The project could’ve been finished faster, but since we were focused on quality, speed wasn’t very important to us.

Our company provides supply chain software for energy companies.

For what projects/services did your company hire Epicmax?

We hired Epicmax to covert a Flash user interface to Vuejs.

What were your goals for this project?

Convert existing UI to Vuejs.

How did you select this vendor?

We had collaborated with one of their developers on an open source Vuejs project.

Their team had to understand our real-time architecture, understand our backend message-based api, and then covert an existing Flash UI to Vuejs.

What was the team composition?

Team was two people, our CTO, and their most senior developer/architect.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Previous Flash-based UI was not working in newer browsers, due to security restrictions, which, if not solved, would have resulted in loss of customers.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was managed using YouTrack for issues, Github for version control, and CircleCI for continuous integration and delivery. It was very effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their senior developer / architect is a genius, very strong software abstraction skills, and very strong command of the Vuejs ecosystem. They were not afraid to push back on some of our suggestions when they had better ideas.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Honestly, none that I can think of.

We wanted to build a custom platform that incorporated an analytics dashboard and workflow automation.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to keep costs low by relying on good tools. We basically forked the Epicmax dashboard project and adjusted it to meet our needs.

How did you select this vendor?

We found them on Github.

We gave Epicmax a visual, interactive prototype of how we wanted our platform to look and function. We also supplied Postman mock-ups for the REST backend. We based the design around their own open source dashboard. Epicmax ported code from Vue.js to React.js and implemented the platform.

I worked with two members of the team, an account manager and a developer. One of our own developers worked alongside them.

This project automated several processes for our organization.

Their project management was great. They were quick and punctual.

They were high performers, but also easygoing.
