backend for Constrafor. To proceed with this project, first, they rewrote the legacy backend code, making it affordable for integration with a more recently developed frontend.

Organizations in the American medical sector suffer profitability challenges, which leads to a significant shortage of healthcare providers. As a dramatic result, there is a contradiction between the decrease of medical treatment consistency and reliability, and the growing

number of patients waiting for help. Consequently, patients are forced to compromise on episodic, transactional and expensive healthcare assistance even with respect to the most basic healthcare services.

 

The situation might change once the standard healthcare operational processes become more automated which will allow care providers to focus on treatment and avoid the administrative routine. Now that the problem has been taken into consideration by AdviNow Medical, it’s going to be solved by dint of the new patient care management system.

If repetitive actions can be performed by special algorithms, medical experts’ knowledge and time may be better used in decision-making processes. In this way, the cost and time savings would contribute to medical care affordability and accessibility. 

 

This idea inspired the AdviNow team to start working on an ambitious project, dedicated to operationalizing technological innovation for solving the current problem.

With the help of Emphasoft engineers, AdviNow aimed to supply providers with a virtual assistant to automate inherent stages of the medical consultation process such as:

In the real estate business the loss of customers is much costlier than in any other industry, so every lead should be processed immediately. An Australian entrepreneur created a startup dedicated to making real estate agents’ work easier and more efficient by distributing incoming

leads between outsourcing concierges to be handled while agents are unavailable, on holidays, or simply offline. We’ve been asked to develop a leads management system for this purpose.

 

Results 

 

Tasked both as a technical and business-consultancy specialists, we’ve been analyzing different API possibilities and the real estate business process to design our client's system the optimal way. As a result, we built a leads management system, which allows for the following:

  • Agents’ registration with their realty offers and descriptions being uploaded from other websites
  • Setting up each agent’s unavailability time, throughout which remote Concierges ought to be active
  • Incoming leads on connected websites appear in Zendesk and are spread automatically among Concierges when the related agent is unavailable
  • Concierges interviewing potential clients who left leads in the name of agents, once agent’s email has been integrated to the lead management system

Our client needed to automatically extract users’ contacts from many social network personal pages and to organize them within lists or databases. This goal was set to be achieved with the help of the bespoke web-scraping system. Web-scraping is the process of specific data gathering copied

For this purpose, the Emphasoft engineers developed a custom CRM system with a web interface, which accomplishes:

  • sending the GET requests to the target site
  • receiving the response from the target site
  • parsing the HTML document
  • searching and extracting the required data
  • converting data into the specified format

The CRM-product also allows users to work with data manually: view and edit the collected data, filter this data by various parameters, delete unnecessary records, add new records, etc.

We have developed a custom application for Zapier and aligned it by means of an OAuth2 data exchange between our client’s marketing platform and the new app. This app receives information about all events through the API from our client’s website and passes it to other applications. It became possible to manage such information as the list of events, the list of guests for each event, the names of guests, emails, etc. Also, it helped to invite new guests via a wide range of more commonly used web-services.

    We are still in the pre-launch phase, but we are very happy with the work that has been so far. The project manager and developers are very thorough and are able to catch problems and fix them very early on.

    Emphasoft provided developers for the Front End and PM to help us complete this big project on time. We had a very tight schedule and needed to augment our team to be able to meet a deadline that was changed to 2 months earlier than planned.

    SOLUTION

    How did you select Emphasoft and what were the deciding factors?

    We interviewed probably close to 100 developers from differen countries and were looking for high permoformers with deep Angular 7 knowledge. We requested code samples and we were pleased with what we saw. The good level of communciation with the Agency owner, flexibility and experience in the industry along with their team skills were decisive for us.

    The Trainig portal we built, included over 40 modules with complex UIs that pulled information from many of the other modules. These modules included tables, use of external libraries to embed Excel files, generate PDF, PPT and Word documents. It also included different level of validation for the many user inputs found in each training module. We held weekly meeting with Product owner to go over wireframes of the UI design and module logic which was then passed to Emphasoft to break it down into smaller tasks and assign them to each of their developers. We used Angular 7, PHP with Phalcon Framework, Material UI. All of this hosted in AWS, using MySQL database in RDS, S3 for file storage.

    There were 4 people total. 3 Front End Developers and 1 Project Manager.

    Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

    The Client loved the App look and feel and how it empowered their staff by providing clear and well-designed training modules with many interactive UIs and export capabilities. As a result from this, the client gave us other 2 smaller projects and is already planning on version 2 for next year.

    We had a weekly meeting with their Project Manager through Zoom who helped us tackle any communication barries or blockers. We also communicated directly with developers to provide further clarification or details as needed through Skype. We used GitHub for our code repositories.

    The quality of work, their skills and high level of commitment. The agency owner following up every couple of weeks or at least once a month to guarantee customer satisfaction was a big plus.

    Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

    The project has been deployed live in 5 customer locations with ongoing operation for a few months by now without any serious issues or defects found by the users. During monthly sprints, Emphasoft was putting long hours to meet the deadline and has always been there for us.

    How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

    We used direct communication between my engineers and the Emphasoft engineers which helped ensure smooth communication.

    What did you find most impressive about this company?

    Their bar for talent is extremely high. In my last role, one of their developers mentioned that they interview about 50 people for every position that they fill. Their interview process is rigorous, and as a result, they attract top talent.

    In addition, Emphasoft has an incredible remote culture. It really makes working together easy from a client’s perspective. Lastly, their style is amazingly crisp, clean, and consistent across their work with multiple clients that have different needs.

    No, nothing comes to mind. I've been very happy with Emphasoft's work throughout the entire engagement.

    We love the website’s features and Jobs Widget system and its interface. It really helps HR and recruiters to post vacancies on the site easily, get responses, and schedule interviews inside the system.

    The service turned out to be flexible, we can customize it for each client.

    The team did their work well. The product manager would give me weekly updates. Whenever there were issues, they were quick to listen and respond.

    Using various on-line resources we researched a number of vendors and drew-up a shortlist of 4 to whom we sent a specification document for a minimum viable product.

    The deciding factors in our choice of Emphasoft were their grasp of the business, requirements, their ability to communicate clearly in English, their reputation for on-time delivery and cost.

    Emphasoft proposed breaking down the project into 2 sprints. This allowed the basic requirements to be tested and refined before adding more advanced functionality. Their solution was an AWS hosted React/Django front end with an AWS managed Db and S3 storage.

    We dealt primarily with 2 people from Emphasoft. An overall project manager (mainly costs and timelines) and a technical project manager for the actual software development and deliverables. Both had excellent English and were responsive to questions and queries.

    Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

    The project was delivered on time, to spec and on budget.

    Project management was carried out mainly through Slack which helped to keep all the relevant information in one place. Phone and conference calls were via Skype. All queries were responded to in a timely fashion. Overall communication was very good.

    They focused on delivering the project on time and accommodated the inevitable minor changes without quibbling.

    Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

    Some overall system documentation would be useful. The source code has been provided but an overview of the system set-up would be useful for any future work. As the system has only just been delivered it is possible that this documentation will be forthcoming.

    They did a lot of different things for us. At first, we gave them simple projects to assess their skills. After they had completed those with ease, we decided to work with them as an ongoing partner on an unlimited basis. During this period, Emphasoft developers finalized the web version of the Webim chat and app for Windows and Linux. They developed an operator and demo apps for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, Cordova plugin, FAQ-modulus. Emphasoft developed a mailing service by phone or email, implemented support for additional APIs, user statistics metrics, the ability to close dialogs, prepared a widget redesign for Webim's enterprise clients, implemented the ability to evaluate the work of operators in channels, set up correct dialogue routing, and also configurated the Webim and CDN service.

    The project has modernised our previous solution. It has also meant that we can communicate more effectively with our customers.

    We were working to a fixed price budget. Therefore the project manager maintained a strict focus on deadlines and milestones. That said, he also allowed for a certain amount of 'evolution' during the project which meant that the final product was better than I could have imagined.

    What did you find most impressive about this company?

    Excellent leadership. Fantastic work ethic and desire to achieve great products. Very good value for money.

    Are there any areas for improvement?

    Occasionally written communication needed to be more systematically laid out. Often myself and the project manager we put our heads together to come up with short term plans, often involving shared documents and Slack. Occasionally the documents would lack structure. Although this was as much my fault as the PMs!
