DPD aimed to modernize its services by migrating from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud, ensuring enhanced transparency, efficiency, and customer experience. Rather than a simple lift-and-shift migration, DPD sought to rebuild its entire suite of digital products. To achieve this ambitious goal, DPD partnered with ELEKS, initially testing their capabilities on a single product before awarding them the full project.
ELEKS assembled a team to transform over 15 DPD products across three key areas: depot operations, client-facing applications, and internal enterprise systems. Using serverless architecture on Google Cloud Platform, ELEKS rebuilt and modernized these applications while integrating new business flows and functions.
ELEKS also implemented test automation, DevOps practices, and monitoring solutions to ensure high performance and immediate incident resolution. As a result, DPD successfully completed its six-year migration, optimizing hosting costs, improving system resilience, and enhancing tracking and analytics. The upgraded IT infrastructure now supports over one million domestic parcel deliveries per day, strengthening DPD’s position in the global logistics market. Additionally, ELEKS continues to provide ongoing support and research into AI and robotics for further innovation.
