Most fascinating projects we completed in 2019
Check out the most fascinating projects we completed in 2019

Blue Sky
Blue Sky is a sophisticated workflow management tool designed to centralize communication traffic between company members and customers. To accomplish this task we created a mobile application which covers mobilization, communication and organization needs between an administrator and staff members of event agencies, beauty centers, and many others.

TechInspect
SquarePeg Software Ltd provides its clients from Australia, Thailand, New Zealand, and Great Britain with vehicle inspection software. When we had an intro to the project their software worked only on Windows Mobile 6.5 platform. SquarePeg team came to the conclusion that they need to make their product compatible with more popular mobile platforms if they want to be up to date, keep the clients' loyalty and meet their target audience needs.
We provided them with an Android and iOS app that is now a working tool used by hundreds of thousands of SquarePeg clients on a daily basis. Thus, we have done our best to make it as adaptable and easy-to-use as possible by optimizing the user experience. The users' positive feedback has proved that we have really succeeded. This project started in January 2014. We currently continue our fruitful cooperation with SquarePeg by providing them technical support and developing new features for their product.

BlastOut App
BlastOut is a B2B app that allows visitors share interesting photos within selected event and in current geo-location. User can make comments on images, create own ones, connect with each other and swipe contacts for networking. Very useful in breaking the ice and makes it easy and fun to meet new people.

ManyWho
ManyWho asked us to help them create native Android and iOS (iPhone/iPad) application. The complex development solution was provided and development team assigned to perform mobile development, design creation, QA testing and project management. The key challenge was in dynamic UI development, which means taking generated objects and generating the actual UI for iOS and Android. All screens are generated “on-the-fly”, so the purpose of this application is to generate the controller layout based on the object descriptions coming back from the ManyWho engine. If the user selects a button action, this will prompt the view to execute the engine and re-render the newly generated UI based on the objects returned.

Event App
The client provided event attendees with access to their personalized schedules and set meetings via the web application which had a couple of weaknesses:
- usage of the application via tablet or laptop was difficult due to the bad Internet connection in hotels and conference centers
- the application design wasn’t mobile responsive, so drop-down menus were difficult to read
Seeking to resolve existing problems, improve service provision, and meet clients needs, the client requested us to deliver iOS and Android applications to them.

Idencia
Our client was Idencia - a US-based world leader using RFID technology in the precast concrete industry. It provides infrastructure manufacturers with a system for tagging and tracking concrete and steel structures.
The Idencia initially had an RFID-based Windows desktop and mobile app. When they realized how necessary it was to keep up with technological trends, they decided to transfer their RFID information tracking system to a web and Android applications.
For more details check the case study on our website.

CentralReach App
The iOS and Android app which provide the key features of the CentralReach platform.
For more details check the case study on our website.

Smart Tracker
SmartTracker is B2B cross-platform application that helps to track the movement of workers. Shows the location, speed and service information. Also you can send check-in or photo to capture certain places or panic in case of trouble. App was developed for three platforms: iOS, Android and WinPhone. Additionally APK file was converted to the Blackberry mobile app.

Traffic Live CH
Traffic Live CH is a mobile application that provides information about danger zones and traffic disruption on the roads and highways of Switzerland. Users can see precise indications of time lost in traffic jams, changes of the situation and revocations. App provides the possibility of creating a profile by selecting the cantons and highways of your choice, moreover, messages (push, APNS) are configurable as well. You are always up to date in real time about what is happening on the roads and can easily choose what way is best to drive. This service is offered by Delta Information Services.
We created new UI scheme and graphical designs and assigned dedicated development team to perform production.

Screen And Rent
The Screen & Rent system helps improve efficiency, manage risk, reduce costs and increase revenue by delivering comprehensive data, advanced analytics and rental recommendations. For consumers, Screen & Rent provides the tools, resources and education to help manage their credit and achieve their financial goals. It is through efforts like these that Screen & Rent is assisting the rental community in mitigating risks and identifying opportunities at each stage of the resident lifecycle.

TETHER
The app offers the innovative “tethering” to the top global music charts and media stations in real time and gives a full access and control over all music sources. Users can listen to the top world charts and radio stations, watch the video, save in playlist and download favorite songs, create and share playlists, sort their best music on the own music wall. TETHER is available on the App Store.

eyeSafe
The key challenge was to create tracking app for web passwords from scratch to work across iOS and Android platforms. Starting with branding we’ve made a research and created app design concept to meet functional requirements of the client and be appealing to users, taking into account their experiences using similar apps, needs, and expectations for improvement. Xamarin.Forms was chosen as a solution for cross-platform performance, that helped us to minimize development time and deliver application faster ready for launch.

Fitness Freak app
Fitness Freak – an app-based personal artificial intelligence coach who will guide you perfectly in improving your physique. Just answer several questions about your physical condition, set your goal and let him create the program to get you there.
For more details check the case study on our website.

Financial Portal
Financial Portal is the web application for an Australian non-bank lender, which specialized on lending products on the mortgage market.
The project goal was to develop a financial portal consisting of 2 parts:
- Admin portal - for internal users who will perform administrative duties;
- Customer portal - for clients who will take out loans through the lender.
For more details check the case study on our website.

TVTAG mobile app
iOS app for capturing and editing video fragments from streamline TV. Users can capture TV broadcast, create media walls, edit video with the wide range of tools, and share it on social media. Watching TV has become dynamic and interactive with TVTAG app. TVTAG is available on the App Store.

Front-End Dev Work for Integration Development Company
“They’ve been responsive to feedback and are quick to implement.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Left Hook Digital does project-based, contracted integration development including API development. We have a few dozen clients in a three-month period. I’m the co-founder and managing partner.
What challenge were you trying to address with EGO cms?
We needed more development power on our team. We had backend developers, but needed frontend development and help with the few backend issues we face.
What was the scope of their involvement?
This project is a pilot project. This is for one our partners, so if it works out well, we’ll do more projects with them. It’s an ongoing augment as needed.
We’re doing a direct integration between QuickBooks Online and a client's app that is essentially a bi-directional sync of accounting information. The integration between the client's App and QuickBooks Online and Desktop is programmed through our partner's platform. We created an app/service that sits between the external software and our client’s app. The middleware is embedded into the client’s app to make it look like it’s all one thing. You could call it a white-labeled intermediate integration app. EGO helped mostly with the frontend.
What is the team dynamic?
We initially engaged with Eugene, the CEO. He reviewed the project and pulled some people in from his team. Irina is helping with project management internally; we occasionally interacted with her as well. There was someone else on the project, but they quickly pulled him off when they realized he wasn’t needed. He actually pulled himself off which is pretty impressive. Misha is the one we’ve been working with primarily. We sync up with him at the end of his day and the beginning of our day. We check in to see how things have gone and if he has any questions. We set the stage for what he’s going to do the next day. That communication was regular throughout the project.
How did you come to work with EGO cms?
We had initially engaged another company, Ascendle, but the project wasn’t something they did. They referred us to EGO. We checked on their reputation, but we didn’t search for another company.
How much have you invested with them?
They gave us a blended rate, which is really helpful. We paid between $25 and $35 per hour, which averaged out to $32. They were flexible in handling the total cost. We decided that time and materials made the most sense. It costs between $3,000 and $5,000 per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in June 2017, and the work completed at the end of September 2017. They’re working on a part-time basis.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everything has gone smoothly. I haven’t heard anything negative about their code. We don’t know enough about frontend development in Angular.js to know whether it’s good, clean code, but the end client does as well as other people we’ve contacted. Nobody has said anything about redoing that code. They’ve been responsive to feedback and are quick to implement.
How did EGO cms perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been great. The only downside was that we had to make sure we could meet in the morning to sync up with them. We eventually became accustomed, but it was hard to get used to at first. It wasn’t any fault of theirs. They’ve been great at saying what issues there are and understanding what needs to be done. Eugene has everything under control and they’ve been following the contract closely and sending us details. There’s not been any a lack of response or an unacceptable delay.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve been very thorough and have been open to answering questions and reviewing anything that’s been done. They check in regularly with us. There have been a couple of times when the project has gone sideways, and Eugene reached out to see if we needed any additional resources or anything else. It was impressive to get that because it meant they’re communicating internally and getting regular debriefings on how things are going.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t see anything at the moment. They might benefit from having someone "stateside" that does project management as well. That way, the hours would overlap better. I don’t know if it would work or not. There’s nothing negative until someone tells me there’s something wrong with the code.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are an EHR systems provider. I am the owner.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cayugasoft Tech?
We needed an iOS app as an alternative to the existing web application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Cayugasoft Tech developed our app. It’s a stripped-down version of the web app, and it provides scheduling and messaging on-the-move. There was one Swift developer assigned to our project.
How did you come to work with Cayugasoft Tech?
I interviewed a couple of companies, and Cayugasoft Tech seemed nice in comparison. They seemed to know what they were talking about, and they were affordable.
How much have you invested with Cayugasoft Tech?
The cost of Cayugasoft Tech’s work was about $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Cayugasoft Tech in 2015. The project was completed in 2016.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The code was clean and it worked. There was nothing else we measured Cayugasoft Tech against.
How did Cayugasoft Tech perform from a project management standpoint?
It was a fairly simple project involving a developer and project manager. The project manager was available all the time, and we had no roadblocks. The communication was fairly straightforward.
What did you find most impressive about Cayugasoft Tech?
I’ve only worked with Cayugasoft Tech, so I couldn’t compare them with anyone else. They were competent, though.
Are there any areas Cayugasoft Tech could improve?
No. I was overall satisfied and have no complaints.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
itagit technologies is a digital media startup where we developed a proprietary platform that enhances digital experiences for users. Our core function is that we create applications that allow real-time interactivity between the user and content for radio, TV, or live events. Users are able to capture and interact with audio/video content being broadcasted from that source in real-time. I am an Egyptian entrepreneur and am founder and CEO of itagit.
What challenge were you trying to address with EGO Creative?
The primary reason I reached out to EGO Creative was that our internal technical department decided to develop our Apple iOS and Android mobile applications using the Xamarin platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
EGO Creative was commissioned to develop the iOS mobile application for 2 of my mobile brands. The first brand is a music discovery-related application called Tether, which they developed from scratch. My other brand is called TV Tag, which is related to TV interactivity and capturing real-time video via TV without using the camera phone. The applications were designed by an external third party, and we were developing the Android apps internally. We went through several scoping exercises to clearly identify the features, functions, and user flow within each application to reflect the designs that were created. They came back to me with a time and cost estimate, and we negotiated to come to an agreement with them. There was an NDA signed because we were dealing with proprietary technology.
We went through the phases of the development based on prioritization that I had set up. In the beginning, we didn’t have a certain number of resources from their team assigned to us. But, when the workload ramped up and it was clear that we would be engaged for 3 months, then we had dedicated resources, including iOS and Android developers and QA testers.
How did you come to work with EGO Creative?
I was recommended to search for developers on Upwork. I did a lot of research on different companies and individual developers. EGO Creative was shortlisted, along with 3 other providers. We chose them based on their experience and testimonials on the site, along with the fact that they had certified developers and were partners with Xamarin. They also gave a reasonable estimate on the cost.
How much have you invested with EGO Creative?
We have spent between $30,000 and $35,000 over the course of our relationship.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in May 2016, and the work is ongoing.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?
Our apps have only been on the market for 2 months. The apps that we created were quite innovative. There was no point of reference that you could compare either brand to. We are offering what we call never-seen-before mobile-based user experiences. We would not have been able to get the positive feedback we’ve gotten from the market and our investors without EGO Creative’s role in the project. Our investors and other people are intrigued with how we’re able to create these digital experiences.
How did EGO Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m in constant communication with a single project manager who’s responsible for the deliveries and any issues that come up. They are very clear on what tasks are being done and which are being prioritized. If we have any issues with testing, they’re quick to respond. We have a personal relationship as well as professional, which helps build rapport. We invited one of their developers to come to our offices for a week, and that helped build a stronger bond between our organizations. They helped us solve certain problems with how to scale certain parts of the application.
What did you find most impressive about EGO Creative?
I’ve dealt with 2 project managers over the course of our relationship. I’m very happy with the responsiveness of the second project manager. She’s always available over Skype, even during night hours when we need help with a live event. At one point, we had a cash flow problem, but they had a lot of patience with our situation, and we really appreciated that.
Are there any areas EGO Creative could improve?
I think there are certain key areas that any company can improve. One of those is reporting on a more periodic basis. Even though they are responding quickly already, they can work to make it even better. They could also expand their presence beyond Europe. With their expertise in Xamarin, it would be a good opportunity for them to improve and expand their reach.

Mobile App Dev for Auto Software Company
"They really appreciate positive feedback about how their work has benefited our customers."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a software solutions provider for the automotive industry, and I’m one of the directors. We’re located in England and we currently have five employees. Our software prepares reports which allow customers to inspect end-of-lease vehicles.
What challenge were you trying to address with EGO Creative Media Solutions?
We had some legacy software on older technology which we needed to migrate over to a new mobile paradigm of Android and iOS. We didn’t have the skills in-house to do that, and we decided that it was better to outsource the mobile development part of the work rather than upskill.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We first engaged their project managers to help scope out the project. We also have experience in that area, so it was a joint effort to come up with a solution that we liked. They then brought on board one of their technical architects, with whom we worked closely. We completed the wireframing and progressed to the MVP [minimum viable product stage]. We went through testing scenarios, and then we were able to launch.
In the early stages, we had quite a close interaction with them because we were new to outsourcing. As time went on, we’ve been able to step back from that day-by-day management. Initially, we engaged a project manager part-time, and then we brought in a developer on an hourly rate. We then switched to a fixed monthly contract, so the developer was working solely for us on a three-month rolling contract. We have the option of extending that to around 40–60 hours per week if necessary.
I liaise closely with their team lead, who either works on the project himself or delegates to another developer. As a result, we don’t have only one individual developer. There are a number of resources they can use who have knowledge across the project.
How did you come to work with EGO Creative Media Solutions?
It was a fairly brief process. We’ve not really outsourced before, so we were sort of sticking our toe in the water to test how the relationship would work. We went through Elance originally and had a number of responses back. After more in-depth interviewing with the providers, we felt that EGO Creative gave us confidence that they understood what we were after. They had experience in both Android and iOS development, so we decided to hire them.
How much have you invested with EGO Creative Media Solutions?
We’ve spent around $5,000 to $7,000 per month throughout the course of the project.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in the first quarter of 2014 and launched at the end of 2014. It’s an ongoing project, as we have customers who are forever looking to bring more aspects of their business into our product. We’ve also used EGO Creative for other smaller applications we’ve needed over time.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
We have a specialized product, so we don’t have a huge volume of customers. However, our customers use it quite intensively. They are happy with the product, and we’ve had very positive feedback on the user interfaces. EGO Creative has a good understanding of how to make an app feel natural within the Android and iOS environments.
There have been times when we experienced slight misunderstandings, but that may have been due to a lack of specific explanations on our part. Those instances were quickly rectified, and we’ve overcome those challenges very easily.
How did EGO Creative Media Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a dedicated project manager who understands the product very well. She and her team have gone over and above when we had hard deadlines. We’ve been very pleased with the project management. We have regular Skype meetings, and we also use Atlassian’s JIRA and Confluence to track the project. We use the wiki quite extensively as a central repository to store knowledge of the project. We’ll write scope and feature requests within Confluence, which EGO Creative then translates into JIRA tasks for the developers.
What did you find most impressive about EGO Creative Media Solutions?
I don’t have much experience with outsourcing, so it’s difficult for me to compare. In my opinion, the most impressive aspects are the relationship we’ve developed, their understanding, and the pride they take in ensuring the product has an impact to the end user. They really appreciate positive feedback about how their work has benefited our customers. I believe that shows a level of care within the project.
Are there any areas EGO Creative Media Solutions could improve?
There have been some occasional misunderstandings due to the language difference, but we’ve been able to rectify them quickly. Because an outsourced team is not as close to the business as we are, there may be information missing from their knowledge base. It’s a two-way process to fill those gaps.

Web App Development for Marketplace Startup
"I could not have dreamt of having a better project manager than the one assigned by CayugaSoft."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are an early-stage startup providing a marketplace for wellness services. I am the founder of the company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I have been working in the tech world for a long time on the business side, but choosing a language for my current platform was a challenge. I asked CayugaSoft to explain to me in plain English why they would choose one platform over another. I was told that, although there are newer languages available, the advantage of established ones is that they offer many tools and widgets which we can leverage. The recommendation made sense to me, and I liked CayugaSoft's ability to deal with me at a non-technical level.
CayugaSoft assigned one lead and one part-time developer, as well as a testing team. I had regular meetings with the lead developer.
How did you come to work with CayugaSoft Technologies?
I never had a connection with this market before. I found CayugaSoft through a European service for matching clients with software development companies and reviewed them along with 15 other candidates. I could see that CayugaSoft could clearly see what I wanted to do, based on their high-level briefing. They went beyond what was being asked by our group, giving me more details about what could be done in a way that made me confident in CayugaSoft's skills.
How much have you invested with CayugaSoft Technologies?
The cost of CayugaSoft's services has been between $50,000 and $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with CayugaSoft in February 2016, and have an ongoing collaboration. The progress has been slow, given that I'm doing this while still working a full-time job. We are in the final stages of development. It has been a wonderful experience so far, and I would love to work with CayugaSoft in the future.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
CayugaSoft Technologies has delivered a functional product. It has a few bugs, but not to an overwhelming degree. I found CayugaSoft easy to work with, especially at this stage.
How did CayugaSoft Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
The team was amazing. I could not have dreamt of having a better project manager than the one assigned by CayugaSoft. She was understanding and knew what to say in order to reassure me.
We used JIRA, Slack, and Google Docs. CayugaSoft has been much more organized than me in terms of managing my ideas, following up, and delivering on time. I was usually late for our scheduled calls.
What did you find most impressive about CayugaSoft Technologies?
CayugaSoft has a team of very nice people. I received messages for Christmas and Thanksgiving, even though they are based in East Europe. CayugaSoft handles outsourcing very well.
From a technology point of view, I had a hard time understanding test-driven development. CayugaSoft was able to explain it to me, allowing me to make the right decision in terms of cost and good-quality code. CayugaSoft has gone above and beyond, treating my project as their own and bringing a creative approach to solving problems. There were times when I didn't know how a certain feature could be created, and CayugaSoft came up with good solutions every time.
Are there any areas CayugaSoft Technologies could improve?
The cost could be lower, but I don't think that this is a realistic possibility.

Blueprint and App Dev for Digital Agency
"They’re serious about conducting business. I like that about them."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of Divigner, which builds websites and different flavors of mobile apps for industries. We service all types of industries but mainly focus on the medical field. We also do 2D and 3D animations as well as static and interactive infographics.
What challenge were you trying to address with EGO Creative?
We use companies like EGO Creative to access the more technical pieces of our website and mobile app builds.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve worked with them on 2 large projects. The first job I had with them was building out “blueprints” for mobile apps. EGO helped me mature that process. The blueprint basically states what you're getting, what the client wants, and what they’re trying to do. Then we move through the process of creating wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes. EGO will create a clickable prototype that works on any device—iPad, tablet, Android, iOS, Windows—that can be sent via URL. The client simply downloads an application and then they can interact with the design. At that point, we stop and reassess what functionality the client wants based on what we’ve created so far. Basically, that allows the client to stick their toe into the pool little by little before they commit to a big upfront investment. It allows them to control their expenses.
Right now, EGO Creative is helping me build an app for municipalities in New Jersey that takes advantage of the native capability of smartphones. Mainly, it’s a tool for municipalities to reach out to current and prospective residents as well as local business owners. The goal is to deliver the city’s information to them via their phones, giving municipalities yet another way to stay in touch with their communities. As New Jersey matures its infrastructure, we’ll see more mobile-friendly interfaces for paying parking tickets, EZ Pass, etc. We hope we can integrate with those systems and share 1 database in order to make these processes faster. The platform will be a semi-open architecture. This allows for integration into databases of third-party tools and things like that, so it can work for a lot of other organizations. There’s a module within it that is dedicated to municipalities that will allow me to resell this platform.
How did you come to work with EGO Creative?
I was impressed by Xamarin and what it offered in terms of its framework, cutting app time by more than half. I looked at Xamarin’s list of recommended vendors. I knew that there is a lot of talent in Eastern Europe, so I focused on the ones that were located there. I reached out to several of them and EGO gave me the best response. That’s how we got connected.
How much have you invested with EGO Creative?
I would say we have invested about $5,000 to $10,000 on planning and prototyping.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with EGO Creative in November 2014, and our relationship is ongoing.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
They took my blueprint process to another level, augmenting and refining it so I could present it easily to app development clients in a tiered fashion. They took my idea and they wrapped the process around it. My clients so far have received it well, and that is directly attributed to what EGO brought to the table. EGO Creative understood the concept of an MVP [minimum viable product], and they focused on making sure clients understand the MVP of what they need so they can control costs. Between blueprinting and the MVP, we’re able to pitch a lot more.
How did EGO Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re good and I’m happy with them. They’re thorough and they’re on time for meetings. They all speak English well, considering that’s their second language and they’re from Eastern Europe. I’ve brought my clients on the line with them, and they’re courteous and respectful to them. Although I'm always on the phone, they speak freely and update my clients directly. They’re sensitive to their clients’ cultural differences, holidays, things like that. They’re what you would expect from a good project management team.
The project usually starts with a conversation with their COO, and from there, it gets handed down to their engagement or project manager who I work with. I’m usually working with the project manager and a designer, someone that’s skilled at putting together the wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes. If the project goes past that point, I might talk directly to their CEO and work with him. If projects move forward, then other team members, like the developer types, are introduced to the project and brought on board. Mainly, I've been working with their CEO, COO and project manager.
What did you find most impressive about EGO Creative?
They’re resilient. They were located in the region of Ukraine that was invaded and business was disrupted, but it continued. They redistributed their team members within the country. It was as if they had a master disaster recovery plan. They’re serious about conducting business. I like that about them.
Are there any areas EGO Creative could improve?
I would suggest cosmetic things like making their website a little glossier and checking it for grammar. It’s in English and it’s being projected to folks in North America. Depending on who’s looking at it, poor grammar could ruin their repetition and their credibility. I would hate for them to lose a good client over grammatical errors because some people are really picky. Everything else has been exactly what I expected.

Game App Development for Gaming Company
"They just get the work done and it gets done fast, so that’s been big as far as revenue generation in our company."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of development for the app studio. The company, WildTangent, is primarily a publisher of games for desktop, PCs, and mobile devices.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cayugasoft Technologies?
Our company uses a combination of internal resources to really drive some of our products and then we rely on external partners, whether it’s for engineering, art, music, or sound, to really help add additional resources to our teams in an affordable manner. It’s a combination of additional resources but also affordable resources.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The platform is mainly mobile games for Android and iOS apps. We mainly used Unity 3D, a game development platform. That’s where we do most of our mobile apps with Android and iOS. Recently, we’ve been doing some web development using HTML5. Cayugasoft Technologies has helped us over the last few months with some HTML5 game development. That would be both for web browsers and for native mobile apps for Android and iOS.
I would typically have a project manager on their side helping to oversee with scheduling and language translations. Usually, it’s between 1 to 3 developers that we work with, but we kind of scale up and down as needed, based on the amount of projects we have.
How did you come to work with Cayugasoft Technologies?
They reached out to me initially when I was at a different company, an independent game studio. I was vetting a few outsourced vendor development studios. Cayugasoft is based out of New York, so they have a domestic presence. I felt really comfortable with them over some of the other companies initially. You’re making a guess, so to speak, on which one is the best and so far it’s worked out great. More or less, this is the third company I’ve been with that I’ve worked with Cayugasoft on, so I’m a return user for sure.
How much have you invested with Cayugasoft Technologies?
We have invested between $10,000 and $50,000. We’ve done a number of projects, but our last 2 projects with them were 2 different apps across a couple of different platforms. I would say they were both in the $15,000 range each.
What is the status of this engagement?
It’s been about a year that we started. We’ve released 3 products in the year, so each product that we’ve done has taken somewhere around 3 to 4 months to complete. We completed our third project with them just before the holidays. The work is ongoing as needed. At least in this role that I’m in, we sign up for 3 months’ worth of work, so we plan ahead for 3 months and we sign a work agreement, and then we reassess every 3 months. That’s generally how it’s been. It’s not a written rule or anything like that.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
We have a blackjack game that Cayugasoft did all the development on. Right now, it has 300,000 downloads over a 6 to 9-month period. It’s only been out for 6 months, which is pretty good for a year without a lot of marketing. It’s really organic. We’ve had at least 3 times ROI [return on investment] on our blackjack game. That’s been pretty positive. We have just released some other games more recently that are still growing at this point.
How did Cayugasoft Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is really good. I’ve worked with 3 different project managers throughout this period. It’s been about 5 years since I’ve been working with Cayugasoft. The current project manager has been there over 2 years. She’s great. Generally speaking, they are based out of the Ukraine but they speak great English. They are very organized, punctual, and really know what they are talking about and have a sense of what’s going on a little bit more technically than most. They’re very on point and easy to talk to.
I know they use JIRA. We’ve been using Hansoft. We use that with them on our side as well as JIRA. We use Slack as a communication tool and Skype for weekly conference calls. We also used code repositories.
What did you most impressive about Cayugasoft Technologies?
It’s a general statement but it doesn’t apply to all external developers, but I think they just get the job done. They get it done fast. A lot of times with external developers, the quality that you get is directly related to the guidance that you give. If you just tell them to go and do something, they’ll do it quickly and it’ll work. It might not be exactly how your internal team has been doing things, so there could be conflicts as far as that goes in implementation differences. But the overwhelming positive quality is that, what seems like overnight, more stuff gets done than what is done internally in a week. It sometimes feels like that, but any upfront guidance that you provide would certainly help you as far as integrating with other people’s work. They just get the work done and it gets done fast, so that’s been big as far as revenue generation in our company.
Are there any areas Cayugasoft Technologies could improve?
I think it goes back to guidance. It’s hard to say what they could improve on it if you didn’t give them the initial directions. I don’t think there’s anything major that I can really think of.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Please describe your organization. What is your role and responsibilities?
I’m the founder, president, and COO of Ascendle. Ascendle is a contract software engineering firm specializing in mobile application development.
What was your goal for working with eGo Creative Media Solutions?
Our goal was to find the technical skill for our client projects. Our projects are typically mobile application projects using Xamarin, which is the Microsoft.NET technology that we use to build cross platform mobile apps. We wanted to keep costs down for our clients, so we wanted to find someone offshore while at the same time finding folks offshore that would be able to communicate with us well verbally. With eGo Creative Media Solutions, we had enough of a time zone overlap that it made it easy for us to collaborate and work together.
Please describe the scope of their work.
We started our partnerships with one project. It was to take an application that the client had built during four or five years and they wanted to rebuild it using Xamarin. They wanted it done as quickly as possible. So, we were able to take that five-year project and rebuild a version 1.0 and ship it in four and a half months. Since then, we have used eGo on other projects. I believe we have them on five projects at this point.
What was your process for selecting eGo Creative Media Solutions with which to work?
We were evaluating other companies as well as individual contractors to work with us. What swayed me to go with eGo was talking to the head of their company and getting a good feel for him personally. His outlook on business and how clients should be treated was very engaging. Also, through talking with some of the technical members of their team, I was confident in their development ability.
Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative in dollar terms or a personnel work-hour figure? When was the work completed?
The first project was about a four- or five-month project but, as mentioned, we’ve worked with eGo Creative Media Solutions on about four or five more projects. Our partnership is ongoing and falls between $50,000 to $200,000 total.
Is there anything unique or special about eGo Creative Media Solutions that really makes them stand out compared to other business partners?
I think the biggest things that we’ve seen are the attention to detail from the various eGo team members. They’re really on top of it. They’re highly skilled software engineers and quality assurance engineers. From an attitude perspective, they have a great attitude. There is a lot of pride in their work. They are very sharp people.
Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?
I think the only thing is we hope they keep hiring more people so we can keep adding them to more of our projects.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a Sydney, Australia-based startup
For what projects/services did your company hire EGO Creative Innovations?
We struggled to come up with a coherent design for our web app, so we retained the vendor to create exciting and awesome UX/UI
How did you select this vendor?
We've identified top design teams across the world. After careful consideration, EGO were selected because of some stunning designs they've created for other brands. Pricing was very on-market and the quality of communications was outstanding.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
EGO team has conducted a thorough assessment of our needs and wants. They then proceeded to assess user pain points, and suggested very clever UX tricks that we would have never thought of.
They kept us updated on the progress and continuously engaged with us to ensure the alignment of their work with our goals. They frequently reviewed our feedback and promptly incorporated changes, always exceeding our expectations.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
My team directly worked with a project lead, a UX designer, and a graphics designer
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Wow! That's an all-encompassing description of the work they've done. Very cool, stylish, and intuitive design of our partner's app has some features that we incorporated in our main project. Everything was outstanding: from the animations to coherent styles, to the top-notch style guide delivery. Totally unexpected after numerous terrible experiences working with other self-proclaimed design teams. The EGO team rocks so hard! We retained them to work on our main project.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team was always switched on and frequently collected our feedback, and promptly incorporated our feedback into the process. In addition, I particularly loved that the guys were able to lead the design decisions and inform us of their reasoning behind the particular elements. Totally awesome.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Hmm, how about everything? I was the most impressed with their high level of professionalism.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Honestly, this has been one of my best collaboration experiences in a long while. Rivaled only by working with my own team members. Would love to continue working with these guys again.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a technical head of our product SpotAR based in Soest. We are developing a mobile application for cities and museums to create historical augmented reality experiences for tourists.
For what projects/services did your company hire EGO Creative Innovations, and what were your goals?
We had a design ready for our application and needed it to get it developed natively on Android and iOS with multi language support and modularized project structure.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We selected this vendor after researching some companies to outsource some of our work. The project portfolio from EGO was pretty good and that made our final decision.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We provided a design and flow diagram in Adobe XD which the development and management team from EGO understood very quickly. They offered native iOS & Android developers and also did QA testing after each iteration release.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Mostly we had contact with four persons, one project manager, one QA tester and two developers.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The app got delivered in time as calculated and expected with great quality.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
EGO follows agile project management with regular appointments with us and documents everything very well. Also, all communication platforms are offered to get in touch with each other. Project estimates are done very accurately in advance to get reviewed by us.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They are professional and accurate in their work.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We really can't think about something which could be done better.
EGO's portion of the solution performed smoothly and met the internal staff's expectations. EGO cms was accessible and responsive throughout the process. Their willingness to answer any questions, revise code, and devote additional resources kept the project moving forward.
