BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I worked at KPMG a year ago as a senior consultant. It’s one of the largest companies in the world providing audit, tax, and consulting services.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire CornerCase Nearshoring Labs?

At the time, we were providing a variety of services to a large gold mining company including IT consulting. Their management processes hadn’t been updated in many years and required immediate improvement. One of the solutions we proposed was to implement a current ERP [enterprise resource planning] system for labor, financial, and production management.

Due to the specifics of the client's field of activity, none of the existing systems met all of these requirements, so we contacted CornerCase to develop a new ERP system.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to develop an ERP system with a web interface that could reduce costs and increase the company's profits alongside other proposed solutions.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We carried out a detailed analysis of existing services in the IT market based on price, level of service, and quality of projects. CornerCase offered us a better price and indicated acceptable terms for the project.

Describe the project in detail.

The ERP system we needed had to allow the management of production processes, logistics, finance, and human resources, while also having a full web interface. It had to meet all the tax accounting requirements of the Russian legislation as well.

The system had to fulfill the following:

  • For the financial aspect: accounting, cash flow management, interaction with banks, debt and investments management, risk management, etc.
  • For the production process: logistics, supply chain and transportation management, inventory, warehouses, production planning, production program management, maintenance and repair, capacity planning, etc.
  • For human resources: personnel accounting, work time accounting, payroll, and staff evaluations and recruitment.

What was the team composition?

The project team consisted of a system architect, who was the CTO, and two teams, each consisting of several developers, a designer, and a tester.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

The main results of ERP system implementation include the reduction of the turnover of working capital by 20%, a decrease in the level of illiquid stocks in the warehouse by 25%, and the total reduction of costs by 20% of the annual turnover.

How effective was the project management?

Their team managed the project very effectively. The necessary knowledge and experience were provided and all the proposed solutions were justified. Their employees always stayed in contact with our client and did all that was asked of them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We really liked the interaction between their employees—all of them knew what they had to do. In addition, the development process was so transparent that we could constantly see which development phase was being carried out.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

Their employees are ardent devotees of a flexible approach to development. In our humble opinion, it would be better to use more rigorous planning methodologies during the development of large projects. Nevertheless, this remark is not of critical importance since everything was successfully carried out in a predetermined timeframe.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CEO of Brainapps, a company that develops its own methods for improving memory and cognitive abilities. These scientific methods are presented in the form of a game.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire CornerCase Nearshoring Labs?

Our founders were scientists who developed proven methods for improving human memory and attention. With funding received for product development, we had to choose between hiring a team of developers or working with an outsourcing company. Having our own staff would be too expensive, so we chose the second option.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was both simple and complicated at the same time. We had to convert results of scientific research into an Internet project built on the basis of game tests. It was very important to make it enjoyable for people of different ages and professions.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We chose CornerCase because the owner of our company had previously worked with them. He advised us to work with them on this project. We have no regrets about it and even got a discount.

Describe the project in detail.

The project was created from scratch. Initially, they prepared methodological requirements for training tests, while our team prepared interfaces and mechanics. We developed about 14 educational tests. They also developed a referral program that helps us attract new customers.

They created a personal portal that provides a full-fledged educational process. Personal progress depends on the results of passed tests, completed homework, and resource activity. However, some tests and features are only available on the PRO plan.

The platform also has an email notification system and a plans policy. While most of the functions are hidden from users, they remain on the admin panel. All statistics about payments, the popularity of various games, and the average results for each test are also visible.

Explain how the solution addressed your business challenge.

They allowed us to make our methods for improving human memory and attention accessible by users all over the world.

What was the team composition?

During the 4-month engagement, we paid for 3 JavaScript developers (Angular) and 2 backend developers, as well as a full-day UX designer. Most of the time, we communicated with our project manager. We also communicated with a system architect at the start of the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

The project began to generate its first revenue about 5 months after we started working with them. Now, we support the project on our own since that’s one of the requirements from our new investors. We are very grateful to CornerCase for fulfilling our requirements, as it was very risky for us to give the project to an unfamiliar company.

How effective was the project management?

Our collaboration was effective, and we got the end product.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

One of our requirements was the opportunity to see results of the work on a weekly basis. The CornerCase team considered our request and changed the 2-week sprint to a 1-week sprint. For us, it was a pleasant surprise because we didn’t even have to convince them to do this.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

It seems to us that the project team could be reduced, but we are not professional developers so we can’t justify this. Regardless, our own developers confirmed that the project code is fully supported.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

My name is Aleksandr Lebedev and I'm teamlead for the Skobeeff & Partners company. We are one of the largest web development companies and one of the top 10 SEO-optimizers in Russia. Our clients are big business companies. For some of our web development projects, we contract out to partners who provide outsourced services. One of our partners is CornerCase Nearshoring Labs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire CornerCase Nearshoring Labs?

In this case, we had to develop a site for the EveryTag company. EveryTag is one of the key Russian ECM-solutions on the IBM FileNet platform developer. EveryTag develops systems for the automated registration of property complexes, management systems for engineering and technical solutions, etc. An important product of EveryTag is a technology that provides privacy control of corporate information on paper. To date, this is a unique solution for any business or government that owns valuable financial or intellectual information.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to develop a website that would allow EveryTag to increase the attractiveness of the brand as well as sales.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We regularly work with our outsourced partners and CornerCase Nearshoring is one of these reliable partners.

Describe the project in detail.

The goal was to develop a modern website for EveryTag to attract new customers. The target audience of the site is representatives of large- and mid-scale business companies where all document circulation takes place in paper form.

The site needed to consist of the following pages: product description, service and content maintenance, completed projects, company description, and contacts. The site was to be based on MODx CMS. The design needed to use corporate colors, with the main language as Russian.

Explain how the solution addressed your business challenge.

A company like EveryTag that is engaged in software development should have a modern website. In addition, a new website would attract new customers.

What was the team composition?

It was a fairly uncomplicated project, so the team was small. It consisted of two full-stack developers, one designer and one project manager. Any issues were solved through the project manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

The site has already been working for 6 months. There haven't been any technical performance issues. We are constantly engaged in website promotion and EveryTag has already started to receive new customers from the site.

How effective was the project management?

We have worked with CornerCase in the past so we were already used to interacting with their employees. All interactions were very transparent. The project manager was always ready to update us on the development process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

When you engage CornerCase Nearshoring Labs, you can be sure that the work will be done well and on time. Stability and reliability are their best features.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

We do not have any recommendations for them. When we work with CornerCase next time, I would like everything to be done in the same way and to the same quality.

The client submitted this review online.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

We’re a family-owned company engaged in real estate purchasing and management.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire CornerCase Nearshoring Labs?

Previously, all the real estate management was handled using excel and it involved all our interactions with tenants, with the government, and more. Due to company growth, we required the automation of the main business processes. We basically needed to develop our own management system.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals of the project were to develop a convenient system for controlling tenants which had all the necessary functionality and high security and to migrate all our information into the new system without losing important data.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We asked our contractors for advice on companies that developed CRM [customer relationship management] systems and they recommended CornerCase.

Describe the project in detail.

The CRM system required extensive functionality and had to store information about houses, tenants, apartments, lease contracts, and government representatives. Separately, a payment control system was developed to help us notice problems with tenants on time so we can start working with them immediately. Now, the company managers receive notifications about any problems that arise.

We also constantly receive complaints about tenants, so it’s important for us to promptly process them. We asked to make it possible to create applications and attach them to tenants in the system. Additionally, email interactions were configured. They also built a dual authorization system to access the CRM only from the office as the information in it is strictly confidential.

What was the team composition?

Initially, we communicated with a German-speaking system architect but we mainly communicated with the project manager during the whole project. All the development was done by two JavaScript specialists and one PHP developer. The interface was developed by a user experience expert but we didn’t communicate directly with him.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

The developed CRM has increased our employees’ efficiency and our business indicators. The system was developed iteratively and we saw changes every week. By the end of the second month, we had a beta version and started the process of transferring the old data to the system.

At the moment, we have completed the implementation of the developed system in our business processes and are pleased with the results. Thanks to the notification system, we have already reduced the number of contracts that are being canceled by 12%.

How effective was the project management?

We are very satisfied but the most important point is that we got the results we wanted.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were impressed by their work process—it was very nice to see something new every Tuesday. The team was incredibly polite, punctual, and often helped us on issues that weren’t related to our project.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

We were a little upset that after the project was completed, we couldn’t get support from the same team since they were already occupied by another project. To be fair, though, we didn’t initially agree on this. We plan to continue working with them in the near future.
