Magento 2 & eBay Store Dev for E-Commerce Business
“I can email dZine-Hub and get a response within a couple of hours; they also give me the answers that I need.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a co-owner of a business that sells on eBay. We also have our own website.
What challenge were you trying to address with dZine-Hub?
We hired dZine-Hub to do design work for our eBay stores.
What was the scope of their involvement?
dZine-Hub designed our eBay store pages, and we became the first seller in Australia to have category dropdowns. Customers could choose products by using dropdown filters. dZine-Hub came up with this strategy and implemented it.
After a number of years, we decided to start our own website inside of eBay. They handled this job and uploaded 20,000 products to the website. The first version was built from scratch using Magento. We upgraded it to Magento 2 in March 2021.
At present, dZine-Hub has been providing support for us. Since we also have a lot of internal IT work, they’ve had to coordinate with plenty of apps outside of their area of expertise. They’ve had to merge all of those together for us. Moreover, they’ve created tiered pricing features on our website. For one product, we can have 13 prices.
We also have products that have the same diameters but different lengths, so dZine-Hub has also created a system where customers can choose their desired length. Overall, the team has to do plenty of matching and coding to make everything work seamlessly. It’s also crucial that the website is clean and easy to navigate. It also has to have a lot of pictures without making it too flashy.
What is the team composition?
We mainly work with one point of contact, but we also communicate with their owner. More people work behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with dZine-Hub?
Our company found dZine-Hub through Google.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $500,000–$600,000 AUD (approximately $370,000–$450,000 USD) on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement started in January 2013, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The upgraded website has grown by $2.4 million in one year — it’s now doing around $4 million, up from $1.6 million previously. We attribute this greatly to the work that dZine-Hub has done in terms of the site’s design, functionality, and speed. Our eBay stores have remained the same or have grown a little, but the new business we get is organic.
How did dZine-Hub perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m quite demanding and tend to change my mind a lot, so dZine-Hub has a tough job. They often let me know when a task is going to be done, and I sometimes ask them to delay it because I want to add something.
Moreover, though they’re on the other side of the world, we’ve never experienced any downtime even if we’re facing issues — I can’t even remember the last time the website went down. That’s one of the key reasons why I stick with them. We mainly communicate through emails, and we have Skype meetings every week during any development process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
dZine-Hub’s response time is impressive. We deal with other IT companies in Australia. Most of the time, we have to wait for 1–2 days for a response when we launch a support ticket with those companies. On top of that, the people that get in touch with us don’t usually know what they’re talking about or need to get in touch with other people in their organization to seek approval.
By contrast, I can email dZine-Hub and get a response within a couple of hours; they also give me the answers that I need.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Our time differences can be an issue, so it would be great if dZine-Hub can relocate to Australia. For context, they were supposed to meet with us here, but the COVID-19 pandemic happened. So far, we’ve agreed that when the pandemic is over, they can come over and spend a couple of weeks with us so they can truly know more about our business. That way, we can start doing more together.
Sometimes, it’s also a challenge for them to understand what I want because I’m always changing and improving the website. Nonetheless, we’ve stayed with them even though a lot of other Australian companies want to work with us. I’d be devastated if they changed things between us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be prepared with the data that you give dZine-Hub. I’m not a well-structured person, and I don’t operate my business by creating a 30-page submission document with all the requirements and functionalities I need — that takes three months to discuss. Instead, I send the team an email detailing what I need to be done. If you want to work with them, be clear about what you want.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Malay Apparel is an established online clothing retailer in the United Kingdom. We aim to provide a diverse range of fashion at affordable prices; designed by and for fashion conscious men and women. We are one of the fastest growing apparel brands in the United Kingdom and a high-volume seller at eBay and Amazon marketplaces for many years.
For what projects/services did your company hire dZine-Hub, and what were your goals?
In the largely expanding fashion and clothing industry, reaching customers in their comfort was extremely important to us. The best way to do so was online selling which is also one of our long-term goals - to make known, expand and upscale our business. Therefore, we chose to sell our products through our custom-made website that would create a personalised shopping experience for our customers. We reached out to dZine-hub to help us with a professional and well-built Magento website for our brand.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Our primary concern was to work alongside an expert ecommerce & IT consultant team who would help us achieve the kind of service that we were looking for.
A proactive team that understands the needs of our brand and gets into details of what would work best for our online business. After spending a good time researching, we found dZine-hub to be experts in providing workable and promising eBay and Magento solutions and so, we approached them to help us with our website design and build.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The team began with producing a scalable framework for the ecommerce website design with Magento as the underlying software. They also helped us create a custom designed branding for our website. They also implemented a new system to migrate data and standardized our ecommerce business workflow.
Inventory management was made easy through Magento 2 as it is most sophisticated to work around with product customisation. Furthermore, they helped us with marketing which made our brand’s presence felt among buyers/customers.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with their Client Communication Manager, account manager, marketing consultant and review calls with the Director.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We have successfully launched our exclusive range of lounge wear products, gaining reach across regions which was once a barrier to our business growth. Talking about the analytics, we were able to see a massive increase in the overall sales over the last 6 months. The inventory has been dynamically linked with our backend order processing softwares.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The promise on time was not compromised. Communication was never an issue. The team is always available and highly responsive in assisting us whenever needed. They also provided realistic solutions for all of our requirements however minute they seemed. They used zoho, trello and jira for project management.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
dZine-hub’s expertise on Magento solutions is remarkable since they have been providing magento solutions for the past 10 years. They always helped us with wholesome and realistic solutions for our requirements. Every little detail was paid attention to and every requirement was handled with utmost care.
Frequent communication was a boon and periodical progress updates from the team helped us understand the workings of the project even better. Swift action was made in case of any amendments or queries we raised and not to forget their prompt delivery!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not any that I can think of at the moment but if they could add more services in their offering, it would be great.
