Rebranding, Logo & Web Design for Consulting Company
"They really tried to understand us and come up with ideas that disrupted our way of thinking."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder and managing partner of ACMAgile. We’re a consulting and training company founded 14–15 years ago that helps clients be more agile. We’re based in Turkey, but we provide services around Europe and the neighboring regions.
What challenge were you trying to address with DxGreat?
We’ve worked with them on several projects, including two big ones. The most recent one was for our company’s 10-year anniversary. We decided to revamp the company’s entire identity — it was more than just redesigning the logo and website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our first major project with DxGreat was five years ago, and it entailed organizing a physical conference with 1,000 guests. They organized all of the logistics of that conference, and it was very successful.
Three years ago, we had a big rebranding project. DxGreat changed the marketing concept that we aimed at our customers. They also came up with a new logo, website, company communication style, and everything else in between. First, they started with customer research, identifying how customers saw us and how they wanted to see us. We then used those results to create a clearer message. We came up with a simple yet powerful value proposition, followed by a company persona. DxGreat created a character called ‘ACM,’ which our internal team reshaped. Finally, DxGreat came up with the color, logo, language, and style ideas.
What is the team composition?
There were 4–5 people from DxGreat involved with the rebranding project. Three main people led the conference project, but it involved more than 10 people overall, since it was a heavy physical operation.
For smaller projects, we are always in contact with one manager, and they have designers and SEO specialists working in the background.
How did you come to work with DxGreat?
I knew their founder personally and gave them a small project at first. They were successful, so we increased the collaboration. They understood us and were there to give us support. With other companies we’d worked with, there was always a discussion about needing to pay more for any modifications. I don’t find that to be a customer-centric or adaptive effort. When we start a project, we don’t know what direction it will go in, and we’ll make many decisions together with the team.
We created a good understanding with DxGreat on both sides about changing requirements, being adaptive, and running quick experiments to evolve the solution. We align well from that perspective, so we continue to work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
The rebranding project was close to $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The first project was in April 2011, and the relationship is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Three years later, we’re still seeing a positive impact from the rebranding project. Website traffic doubled 1–2 months after we introduced the new home page, and it continues on that trend.
More than 90% of the customers that we’ve talked to have said that the new branding represents us much better.
How did DxGreat perform from a project management standpoint?
For the branding project, we worked in an agile scheme with 1–2 week iterations. We experimented with designs and evolved them. We used email and other communication channels, and they were reachable all the time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s their creativity and innovation. DxGreat didn’t see this project as creating a shiny design to make the customer happy; rather, they really tried to understand us and come up with ideas that disrupted our way of thinking. They acted like the business owner.
Also, it was hard to find a company with an agile work approach that was similar to ours. Since we’re an agile consulting company, this is in our DNA. DxGreat was very familiar with agile work and aligned quite well with us. They learn as a company, and they never repeat themselves.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I wish they were closer to us, but I have no real complaints.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
I would advise you to trust them and treat them as part of the team. Sometimes, people will just write a few pages about what they want, and they’ll rely on the creative team to do their work, but it doesn’t happen like that with DxGreat. Be completely transparent and open with them. Make them understand what you have and what you want to experience so that they can come up with great ideas. That way, DxGreat will give you astonishing results.
