Feedback summary:

To date, the product has demonstrated consistent improvements in functionality, largely thanks to Droid Labs’ reliable performance and experienced team members. Their broad technical knowledge, competitive pricing, and impeccable customer service continue to impress.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our business offers 2 services. The first is our own product—a text messaging application that users can build in minutes. Secondly, we're also doing consulting to help other startup companies build products.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Droid Labs?

One of our clients had an unstable product. We primarily hired Droid Labs to replace this product, piece by piece.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The product is a mass communication tool that manages a huge volume of emails, texts, voice calls, and conference calls. Extensive scalability and stability are required to be able to send emails, text messages, and voice calls at that volume.

The product is both a web and mobile application. Droid Labs is primarily building the web application, focusing on the backend. The website itself is just the frontend that enables our customers to send their messages.

Right now, Droid Labs has 4 people working full-time for us. Due to the nature of the product, which is designed for a small company, we only hire senior people. I think each of the 3 developers we’ve hired can qualify as a lead because they are quite senior.

How did you come to work with Droid Labs?

I found them on Upwork. We did a trial project on a smaller scale. They did well, so we decided to have them work full-time.

How much have you invested with Droid Labs?

We've spent about $16,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired Droid Labs in September or October of 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

So far, we’re very happy with the product and their service. We work with many different service providers, and Droid Labs is definitely in the top 1 or 2.

How did Droid Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a ticket system, and we're using JIRA as a development tool. The team is dedicated, knowledgeable, and committed. Their delivery is reliable, so we're very happy with their service.

What did you find most impressive about Droid Labs?

They offer a unique level of customer service. I appreciate both the quality and commitment of each developer. I think it's hard to find that combination. All we wanted were senior and dedicated developers, and that’s what Droid Labs offers.

Are there any areas Droid Labs could improve?

At this moment, we’re really not concerned about anything. We're pretty happy with the service, so we're looking forward to continuing our relationship.
