I'm a team leader of a company creating computer software for maritime industry. We use machine learning to empower crews and vessel operators to operate vessels efficiently.
For what projects/services did your company hire dotLinkers - IT Recruitment Agency?
We cooperated with dotLinkers to help us grow our team of Machine Learning Engineers.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
dotLinkers were recommended to me from a friend, we had a relation with them in the past.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
dotLinkers helped us massively speed up recruitment process, allowing my team to grow from 5 to 9 people, by finding right candidates in a very competitive Warsaw IT market. Our budget was tight, yet they managed to find interesting candidates to stay within limits. Every CV we got was spot on, and they really took time to understand what our positions were about (and we were recruiting for a non-standard roles, like Machine Learning Operations Engineer).
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I had a direct contact with Piotr Ziaja, and I think a couple of recruiters were involved, but I don't know exact number.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We managed to almost double the size of the team (5->9) in 4 months.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was really open and based on transparency and proper communication. Our needs were well understood, we also held weekly meetings to track the progress.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They really took the time to understand our roles, and I think that was pretty unique in the market. I've never had an hour call about the position I'm recruiting for before, and you can really see the result of that - literally every CV was a good fit and it saved us a lot of time we spent in the past on screening and rejecting bad candidates.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not really, I think it was close to ideal. There was a bit of a mess around offer names, but I think it was really caused on our side as we had to change a couple of offer titles to adapt to what was on the market, and that probably wasn't communicated to dotLinkers properly. But Piotr proposed a call and it was all clarified as soon as the issue was identified.
