Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO and founder of a platform that integrates delivery applications into one centralized place.
For what projects/services did your company hire DOT Infotech, and what were your goals?
We needed them to develop an application that replicated our built UI and integrate the APIs from each delivery platform
How did you select DOT Infotech and what were the deciding factors?
I interviewed 6 different development teams and DOT Infotech had the most competitive price and I had some friends who had used them and had a positive experience.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Currently in the restaurant industry, delivery platform usage has surged. A significant proportion of restaurants now use delivery platforms to facilitate their delivery operation, and now with the recent health crisis, delivery and takeout makes up a large percentage of sales.
Restaurants are forced to participate in delivery platforms in order to have greater customer reach, however each individual platform places a burden on restaurants to maintain them. The amount of time required to handle each platform adds up and as a result, restaurants are forced to choose a select few because they cannot handle more.
This makes it so restaurants do not reach their maximum revenue capacity. Our platform would solve this problem by lowering the amount of required hardware devices to one that is synchronized to all used platforms to allow restaurants to increase their reach, ultimately increasing revenue.
Restaurants are currently forced to choose between delivery services as each delivery service requires its own unique app and system, making it extraneous and time consuming to manually handle orders from each individual delivery platform. We would essentially solve this problem by pulling delivery data from all the delivery services that the restaurant relies on, nicely integrating them into one place.
We will make it accessible for the restaurant’s clerk to solely rely on one central system to manage day to day restaurant delivery operations. Any changes that happen in any of the restaurant’s delivery services will be reflected. The app will be accessed through a web browser(since its a web app), we expect our web application to be accessible in any web browser platform the user desires.
Greater emphasis will be put on the more popular and widely used web browsers. In the beginning, we want the web app to run in the most recent web browser versions. Later on, we want the app to be able to run on older web browser versions. The main reason for this is because we expect a significant portion of the users to have outdated browser versions.
The app is meant to retrieve delivery information that pertains to the restaurant’s orders from delivery services through an api and displaying it simply to the user in one screen. The app will also track the information/data traffic going in and out of the app in order to deliver data analytics about the business’ operations.
We would like our web application to be developed using ASP.NET Framework(ASP.NET Web API Framework?) with an MVC(Model-View-Controller) approach. Built with web technologies(CSS, HTML, JS) to display the information to the user, Server/Database management technologies(SQL, MySQL, SSMS) to store the information/data, and C# or (a language developers may be more comfortable with) to manipulate the data/information(CRUD). The app’s DevOps will be (Github, for development tracking) for deploying/hosting the web app.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have 3 total people working for us. I am the CEO, Ryan is the CFO, and Jose is the CTO. We all handle different parts of the project
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
When the orders are confirmed by the delivery services, a max delay of about 10 seconds (or less) would be ideal before that order reaches our app. The final application must completely support 2 platforms. It must pull orders and list them based on time completion.
Orders must have their current state (new, current, complete) and be listed accordingly. All orders and their status must be saved and analyzed for data analytics. Menu functionality works and is synchronized across all delivery service platforms.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We use Slack to talk to developers and receive updates, and we use WhatsApp to talk between the founders and key parties.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I liked their flexibility and how they do more than they should.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They don't communicate as frequently as I like. We did not get many updates and only received information once the milestones were complete. The project is not complete yet and we are still in development

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a co-founder and the CEO of Baemingo. We’re a software company developing our own product for the SMB and retail area. We deliver mobile apps that offer a consolidated solution for takeaway, delivery, loyalty, and POS, along with data insights, analytics, business intelligence.
The solution utilizes machine learning and AI algorithms. We help enterprise clients to scale their businesses through data insights.
What challenge were you trying to address with DOT Infotech?
We needed to expand our tech development team. We took a couple of people from DOT Infotech onboard, especially for the frontend development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
DOT Infotech helped us with frontend development on our mobile apps. As time went on, we also took on a couple of people from their team for backend development and DevOps.
Our tech stack is Node.js, React.js, React Native, AWS Lambda, and GraphQL. Their team helped with those technologies on four major projects.
What is the team composition?
We started with 3–4 people from their team, and we scaled the team to seven from DOT Infotech.
How did you come to work with DOT Infotech?
I got in contact with Diptesh (Co-Founder & Head of Business Development) through a LinkedIn reference. We had a trial period with two resources, and I had really good conversations with Diptesh about our business during that period.
He really understood our needs and let us know they were in a startup phase and wanted to build something. After saying we'd be glad to take them on to the team if they could find the same quality of resources, we hired them to support our growing projects.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with them between August 2018–November 2019. We worked back and forth on different projects for a year and a half. We have a couple of projects coming up and we’re in dialogue with them again for those.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We finished the project DOT Infotech worked on, and we didn’t have to redo any of their work. We were satisfied with the foundations they helped us set up in our company.
How did DOT Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?
They did really well in managing the project. I’d worked on outsourcing projects before. In comparison, DOT Infotech had a high level of communication and understanding of our culture. We were especially pleased with the communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The biggest part was the communication between our teams. There wasn’t a big cultural difference between us in Northern Europe and DOT Infotech. They were easy to work with and never late on deliveries.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could’ve been more proactive in suggesting new solutions to problems we had in our projects.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Someone considering working with them should run a trial task in the beginning, to get a feeling for their quality. That would satisfy a lot of questions.
