Please describe your company and your position there.
Medicopia is a pharmacopeia mobile application that serves as a drug information reference tool in India. The information includes generic as well as brand names of medicines, indications for their use, dosing for specific illnesses, adverse drug reactions, contraindications for use, and pharmacology of the drug in question. I am a practicing Electrophysiologist and the Co-Founder of Pharmacopia Labs Pvt Ltd.
For what projects/services did your company hire Divami Design Labs?
We partnered with them for the whole end to end solution, right from idea validation to the final product. They designed and developed the complete platform (including the mobile application) from scratch.
What were your goals for this project?
Our major goals were to have an application with which Healthcare providers could access quick and precise drug information like generic & brand names, contraindications & indications for their use, dosing ratios, adverse drug reactions, pharmacology of drugs.
Also, we wanted it to be designed in a manner that could be functional even without the internet, as in most of cases doctors face network issues, especially when working in a basement or some remote locations. We wanted an interface that was quite intuitive and quick to discover, considering the fact that it should be quick for the doctors to go through the information.
How did you select this vendor?
We wanted to select a partner, more than a vendor. We evaluated multiple agencies, but got a reference to Divami from someone in our network who has worked with them earlier. They understood what we wanted and believed in our vision and we are happy with our decision.
Describe the project in detail.
We wanted to build this application in a way, that significantly changes (for the better) how drugs are being prescribed by physicians. We needed something that could eliminate the guesswork involved in computing dosages, especially for pediatric and geriatric patients, thereby reducing the prescription errors that account for up to 70% of medical errors. Especially for the cases where multiple specialists are involved, we need such an application where the chances of confusion are minimized due to the availability of so many brands and alternatives available in the market these days.
Say, if a patient gets a heart stroke and is rushed to a cardiologist, but if he was already having a kidney problem, at times in such emergencies it’s difficult for the specialists to understand the ongoing medicines of the patients and often there are chances of mixing of dosages, hence, such an application has been very much needed. We knew that it’s complicated to design, hence it was quite challenging for us to find someone who gets the problem and give us the right solution and approach towards it, since we understood the need, but priorly not the technicality of this application.
What was the team composition?
Their design team included 2 designers - one for UX and another for UI, led by a strategist. There were 4 developers, a QA engineer and an overall Project manager during the development cycle. Also, they also built and managed a pharmacist team on our behalf to create and manage the drug database.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Even without major marketing, we have organically reached more than 10,000 doctors and gotten a lot of positive responses. Many have patted our back and have been quite impressed by the whole application. Very recently, we won the prestigious CII design award under 2 categories - for the best interaction design and for the best mobile app, and have been profiled at the Design Week conference. We definitely credit Divami for creating an excellent user experience for the doctors and for creating an app that we can be proud of.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They took complete ownership of the project. We literally just shared our vision and they brought it to reality. Since we didn’t have our own team of developers or designers, they created the roadmap for us and took responsibility for driving the whole process, from scratch to final delivery. We had regular review meetings where we would review the progress and give approval at each stage.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The entire team - each and every person we worked with - had the highest levels of commitment, ownership, and accountability. It is a testament to their team that we could bring out the product with just high-level direction and vision from us, without having a team ourselves.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I can’t think of any. They have been and continue to be a great partner.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Co-Founder of Wurkr based in London. Wurkr is an exciting new video platform that replicates your physical office…online! You can communicate and work with your colleagues visibly and in real-time wherever they may be.
For what projects/services did your company hire Divami Design Labs?
We had bootstrapped an internal working together from anywhere platform that now needed to be taken to a wider audience. After speaking to a number of UX/UI companies we selected Divami to partner with us to design the new front end.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted a UI that was fresh and very intuitive and we needed it delivered within 90 days.
How did you select this vendor?
My team collated a list of potential UX/UI companies through web searches and recommendations. Divami was one of the companies recommended to us. We went through various interactions and selected Divami for their creativity, enthusiasm and communication.
Describe the project in detail.
Once we selected Divami, there were a number of discovery meetings that went into a lot of depth. This then led to conceptual overview designs that we reviewed and narrowed down to 2. Finally, all assets were defined and designed with our tech team. The selected designs were rendered to ensure all colours and concepts matched our expectations with a final finish within the 90 days.
What was the team composition?
We had quite an agile approach to the team composition, growing and contracting as needed. Overall there was 1 point of contact at both ends to ensure a central repository of workflow.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We instantly received the wow factor from the internal users and they absolutely loved the new UI designed by Divami. Our back end team were really impressed that our vision for the front end was perfect for our audience. We were able to integrate the designs with ease.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We always had access to our project manager and the CEO was available as and when required. Everyone else in their team was equally available, even at odd times.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The sheer enthusiasm of the whole team and the CEO for ensuring our vision was always at the forefront. Their creativity was way beyond anything we could have imagined. It led to us rethinking the future roadmap of the product. Great people, creative ideas and enthusiasm!
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not really, our expectations were met and the end product is being loved by everyone that uses or sees it.

UI/UX Development for iOS and Android Accounting App
"Divami Design Labs sees our success as their success, and I like that."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of Duke.ai, a company that has developed a SaaS-based bookkeeping and accounting tool that automates all the elements of document processing using AI, and imports those into financial accounting software.
What challenge were you trying to address with Divami Design Labs?
We had developed the cloud infrastructure, which includes the ability to send documents and have them processed, but we needed a UI. We hired Divami Design Labs for this purpose.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We contracted Divami Design Labs to first help design what that the UI would look like based on the requirements we put together. We started out with a proof of concept using a JavaScript web app. Ultimately, we needed to have our cloud solution on a mobile platform, so we asked them to help us develop the iOS version. We talked about the UI’s design and the app’s interaction with the backend server.
The app is on both iOS and Android. We mainly wanted a simple app since our target customers are truck drivers. However, its use can be extended to anyone in the transportation industry. Usually, these individuals are on the road for a very long time and don’t have the educational background to learn advanced software like QuickBooks. We wanted to eliminate all manual data entry, and Divami Design Labs helped us put together a simple frontend. From there, pretty much all activities can be launched from a mobile phone.
We came to Divami Design Labs with some basic code and wireframes with three buttons—upload, view process, and view reports. They created proper wireframes for the app and impressive graphics for those buttons as well as visually-appealing backgrounds while producing a nice flow between the home screen and each menu. They provided their technical expertise in terms of the layout, but also on things like prompts for next activities in order to create an easy and intuitive experience for the truck drivers using our app.
Once we passed the layout and design phase with Divami Design Labs, we moved onto the integration of our backend APIs and how the data is transferred from the server to the app. They were involved in all the necessary engineering discussions and implementations. Their team also helped with some of our automation to make sure that, despite different use cases and unanticipated user interaction, we’d be able to overcome some of the assumptions and find some of the failure points. They wrote automated testing scripts and did some research and development for us. As the product evolved, we were able to do more reliability and QA testing with Divami Design Labs.
What is the team composition?
I was in contact with around seven individuals. They had a programming manager assigned to our account, who made sure we were on schedule and that their engineers prioritized their development activities according to our requirements. This persisted for a period of seven months. We now have an engineer on retainer, who’s basically an extension of our team.
We don’t have a programming manager anymore and the developer reports directly to me. I set his priorities regarding the activities to work on, and he’s involved in our weekly scrum meetings and sprint reviews. He’s kind of like a contract employee.
How did you come to work with Divami Design Labs?
My CTO had heard good things about their company, so we gave them a test program to work on and the relationship evolved from there.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Divami Design Labs in July 2018, and it’s an ongoing partnership.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve delivered within budget and on time. It’s one thing to have a contracted service and give the provider something to execute, but it’s another when a vendor shares their insight and proactively informs flaws in the designs or approach to the work, helping us safeguard ourselves against issues in implementation or deployment. This is what Divami Design Labs does and it means a lot to me. Their team has been considerate on the cost as well, focusing on the activities that I’ve actually asked them to do.
The first thing people tell us after they’ve seen the app is that it has a clean and intuitive interface, and I attribute that to Divami Design Labs’ ability to translate my vision of simplicity into the app.
How did Divami Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?
I was amazed at how they adapted to work on our schedule. I’ve worked with offshore companies and there was usually a delay. We had one critical registration bug after going into production, and we were able to resolve that in two days. It was a combination of night calls and morning calls, and they were always available.
We use Trello for project management. Divami Design Labs worked directly with my US engineering team over email. We have shared folders for documents and feature requirements.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really like their energized staff. I’m a high energy kind of person and when I called them to talk about the solution, they bought into it. It wasn’t just another job to them, but rather they acted as an extension of our team. The other companies I’ve worked with provided good service but didn’t feel our pain points. Divami Design Labs sees our success as their success, and I like that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We needed some people with AWS experience, and Divami Design Labs didn’t have them when we started. I ended up hiring someone externally to help us with that. Then, two to three months into the project, Divami Design Labs found an AWS expert. They’ve been able to listen to the feedback coming from their customers, find gaps, and fill them. We know we can't have full breadth across all technologies but it's impressive to see them respond to customer feedback.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Clients need to have a clear vision of what they want, but if they don’t, Divami Design Labs’ team can help shape what they need in terms of UI. I wouldn’t say to come with a blank sheet of paper and not have an idea of what the design and interactions should be, but Divami can help guide clients. They have a methodology for going from the idea stage to translating that into something visible. I’d say to not fret too much about not having all the details worked out. Divami Design Labs can help walk clients through that.

UI/UX Design for Telehealth Platform
“Because of Divami Design Labs’s work, we have satisfied customers.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder and CEO of Celes Care. Our telehealth platform connects women with physicians to provide one-on-one health and wellness consulting.
What challenge were you trying to address with Divami Design Labs?
As a new company, we needed to create a website that would be appealing to our target audience, primarily women in India. Also, we needed to develop a mobile interface for users to interact with physicians, and a PC interface for physicians to manage their practice, patient communications, and incoming requests. My company had developers, but we needed help with design.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Divami Design Labs did UI/UX design for our website and interfaces. The team helped us design the site around the themes of trust, ease of access, and affordability. They provided images and workflows based on these themes, and they developed content tailored to our user base. After they completed the website, Divami Design Labs designed the Apple and Android UI for patients and the desktop interface for doctors.
What is the team composition?
We had a project manager that we interacted with at the project’s kickoff and key milestones. Throughout the project, we worked with 1–2 designers, including a chief designer who we went to with ideas and concerns. Divami Design Labs’s creative head occasionally checked in.
How did you come to work with Divami Design Labs?
I’d interacted with Divami Design Labs’s CEO before and knew that the company had been in the design space for several years. We spoke with them and saw some of their previous work before we decided to hire them.
How much have you invested with them?
My company spent just under $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The work lasted from June 2016–May 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their greatest success was attracting the right audience with their designs, fonts, and color schemes. Based on user feedback, the site is as easy to access as we’d wanted it to be. Because of Divami Design Labs’s work, we have satisfied customers. Often, success isn’t about what happens, but what doesn’t happen; we haven’t gotten complaints that the site is difficult to use. The website has done a great job attracting users, and users don’t have issues with the mobile UI.
How did Divami Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?
We had many meetings to brainstorm the design. Divami Design Labs held workshops and brought in my company’s key stakeholders, doctors, and product managers to present mockups and go through the design.
The chief designer was extremely responsive, and the team communicated well. They were good, which is why we did the website with them and then reengaged them to design the mobile UI and doctor’s interface.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their commitment to fulfilling our requirements stood out, especially since service providers like Divami Design Labs are dealing with multiple projects and different kinds of customers at one time. They strove to understand our target users and their needs. The team’s responsiveness was also excellent.
Are there any areas they could improve?
My recommendation would be to hire more UX designers and then do more internal training.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of Saras Analytics, a data integration and predictive analytics company. We focus on improving business outcomes at small to mid-market companies by offering advanced analytics and related services.
For what projects/services did your company hire Divami Design Labs?
We hired Divami Design Labs to revamp our website and create a new brand persona.
What were your goals for this project?
We were looking to make a content-rich, easy-to-use website that presented our key offerings in a clear and digestible way.
How did you select this vendor?
We came across Divami Design Labs’s work through a client and were quite impressed with their design and development capabilities. When it came time to overhaul our website, we reached out to them and asked for a quote.
During our discussions, I found their team to be approachable, thorough, and passionate. After evaluating a few other design companies, we felt that their design process would yield the best results.
Describe the project in detail.
They updated our website.
What was the team composition?
There was a UI designer, two developers, and a project manager. Though not part of the designated team, their director and chief designer occasionally gave us critical recommendations for elements we hadn’t considered.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our new website has a clean and simple look, and all of the content is now easily discoverable. We’ve received some rave reviews of the overall design of the site, both from within our company and outside of it.
Potential customer visits and clicks have increased significantly. Thanks to the ease of navigation, visitors to the site end up going through our key offerings and reaching out to us for further clarity.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Right from the beginning, their communication was clear and straightforward. They asked us the right questions to understand our goals and vision, thereby ensuring alignment between our expectations and their deliverables.
The design team provided us with progress updates through regular status calls. This prepared us for most updates well in advance. Even their development team synced well with ours, and they were willing to handle even the smallest of issues.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their work ethic was excellent, and they typically pushed through multiple iterations to improve their designs. Also, unlike other vendors, they aligned well with our team. It never felt like they were working remotely, and we were very comfortable with them. Developing rapport with vendors is typically a challenge, and their ability to connect with our team set them apart.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not that I can think of at this time. They’ve been terrific.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had an almost smooth workflow, with weekly meetings, clear communication, and structured discussions. They delivered promptly, acted promptly on our feedback, reported in a timely manner, and worked closely with us in a structured environment.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We appreciated their professionalism in delivering the designs and providing development support. They understood the technology, addressing our needs and the needs of our users. They synced well with our team, so we had a clean working experience. They also distilled complex concepts into simple steps, which helped a lot.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Everything went well, so I have nothing to recommend.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the CEO of Truckaro Pvt. Ltd. Built as a platform and marketplace, we connect consignors (shippers) with transporters, who provide trucking and freight services, and agents, who arrange logistics support (permits, documentation). This brings transparency and efficiency to an unorganized industry.
For what projects/services did your company hire Divami Design Labs?
We hired Divami Design Labs to design of our flagship Truckaro mobile app, which analyzes, assembles, and executes custom shipping solutions. We plan to engage them to build the app as well.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to build a platform with a combination of supply chain and transportation features that we could offer transporters and shipping companies. It had to be easy to use for non-technical people.
How did you select this vendor?
I was looking for someone with whom we could work closely, so I checked in my alumni network. That’s where Divami was recommended to me. Fortunately, their founder was also an alumnus, which helped us trust them. They also had experience working with similar B2B platforms.
Describe the project in detail.
Divami helped us plan and design the app’s UI. They created a design that overcame several complex issues yet was still visually appealing.
What was the team composition?
We had multiple points of contact, including constant communication with their senior interaction designer and their development lead. Their director also provided significant support during ideation and execution.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Potential partners and investors have appreciated the design. Now that we’ve secured funding, we’ll proceed to develop the application with Divami as well.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We worked efficiently with them through remote and in-person meetings. Their experiences held them establish appropriate expectations and deliver on time.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They asked the right questions to clarify our design ideas and addressed feedback quickly. Rather than only implementing our ideas, which they understood thoroughly, they also contributed new perspectives we hadn’t thought of. Their design ensured both visual appeal and powerful functionality. They really did their homework.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Though we started with questions about Divami, it’s been a smooth journey. They gained our confidence quickly by proving they understood our vision and then overperformed with the final delivery. It couldn’t have been a better experience.

We hired them to design the UI and develop the UX for our generic preschool app, Bulbul Kids.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal was to redirect the app’s design from a content consumption approach to appeal more to teachers and parents.
How did you select this vendor?
A friend of mine referred them.
Describe the project in detail.
They began by developing the user personas. Based on their discoveries from field research and testing, they would present us with the new user flow, UI, and branding guidelines. We finally settled on our desired output after more than six of those meetings.
What was the team composition?
Divami assigned a project lead, a design lead, and a junior designer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
In addition new branding, we now have an entirely new navigation with unique user stories for teachers, parents, and children.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Their agile model was very effective.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They took the initiative to conduct substantial ground research that identified specific nuances of the UI.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They can be a bit too persuasive. Attempting to convey our point of view was difficult at times.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
FemmeVista Technologies is a professional networking platform. I’m the co-founder.
What challenge were you trying to address with Divami Design Labs?
We needed someone to do a product design for our networking platform from scratch.
What was the scope of their involvement?
My partner and I had a list of features that we wanted within the platform. They did the entire UI/UX design for us. They worked with us to incorporate all our suggestions and come up with a design that we like. It’s a mobile-based platform. First, they showed us the wireframes in the form of paper drawings. They created the pictures in Photoshop and used InVision, which allowed us to go through all the screens. The app is for both iOS and Android.
We’re now working with them on a different project, in which they’re creating the skins of those mobile apps for us.
What is the team composition?
We had a project manager and a UX designer who worked with us on the entire process flow and the wireframes. There was a UI designer who helped us with the color scheme and the icons. There was a very senior person—a creative head—who was very involved in the discussions with us.
How did you come to work with Divami Design Labs?
My partner knows their CEO. We also heard that they’re quite good. We evaluated ten other design firms, but amongst all the proposals and discussions, we realized that Divami really understood what we wanted to do. Their project plan and proposal was extremely detailed, much more so than what we got from the others.
How much have you invested with them?
9 lakh Indian rupees (approximately $13,000 USD}.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in April 2018 and the work is ongoing. They completed the first project in June 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When we shared the design they created with our user groups, everybody was very impressed. They were waiting for the platform to be launched so they could join us.
How did Divami Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?
We're very happy with their communication and responsiveness. My partner is based in the U.S. and we had a few challenges in terms of finding a time that suited everyone. Divami was very flexible around that. We wanted to have a WhatsApp group to be able to share pictures of the screens. They helped us with that and were actively communicating with us on WhatsApp and sharing multiple options. The communication was very simple and smooth.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their designs are quite different and unique compared to the run of the mill designs you come across in the market. Depending on the platform or product that you have in mind, they gave it a lot of thought and came up with interesting and unique designs.
We were also pleased that they were prepared to go above and beyond what was promised. Sometimes we requested more iterations than we had originally agreed on. We wanted a few additional screens to be designed, and they were very accommodating to that. As a startup, we don’t really have a structure around everything, but they were very flexible with us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
A friend of mine was looking for a design partner and was evaluating Divami. She reached out to me for some feedback. I told her that while they do have a proper project management kind of schedule, from our side as a client, we should also be completely glued into what is supposed to be delivered on a weekly basis and keep track of any delays if there are any. Have weekly calls and make sure you’re actually going through the list of items that were supposed to be done. Make sure it’s done or you have another date for it to get completed.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of a fintech group. We are presently operating in India. We have technology collaborations and other alliances to help us expand to the markets in most parts of the world.
What challenge were you trying to address with Divami Design Labs?
Having a boutique-sized technology team poses a unique challenge in India. If our company internalized product software development, we would’ve needed a team of no more than 8 to10 people, and that would’ve been very difficult to assemble and keep together because they junior to mid-level software professionals tend to look for opportunities within larger teams.
What was the scope of their involvement?
One project they’re helping us with is an account aggregation and financial planning tool. Divami performed market research and presented us alternative scenarios in terms of features we could have on the minimum viable product (MVP). They then planned out how we were going to bring the solution to market. We had our own product plan, so we discussed and superimposed our own desires and goals, onto the plans they gave. The web platform was built using AngularJS.
They’ve also designed several apps for us. We needed them to be attractive, as we were competing with numerous other products, in an area with a high mortality rate, where individuals tend to delete apps quickly after not finding them useful. They built native Android and iOS Apps, and have created a web services layer that used Java, MySQL, and Linux.

What is the team composition?
We made sure that their CEO was our point of contact. We do have a project coordinator as well, in addition to three or four other people from their side. How did you come to work with Divami Design Labs?
I talked to some of my friends, who had experience with frontend, UI design. They’d used Divami earlier and referred me to them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since January 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our international fintech partner has connected with overseas banks, and they’ve loved the apps that we’ve shown them when we included them in our proposals. They liked the designs and UI of the apps and said that they have an international look. This was a surprise for us, as we had never designed this app for an international bank. It’s definitely a reflection on Divami’s design and quality of work.
How did Divami Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve worked closely with them, and they’ve communicated comfortably with our partners as well. Their team liaised with those partners independently and did what was needed to be done to move things forward smoothly and quickly.
Once a design is done, we won’t have much interaction with them, unless we come up with new requirements and changes to the screens. Fintech is a dynamic market, and Diyami had to adapt to it fairly quickly. We have missed deadlines because of changes in specs from our side, but they’ve moved quickly to implement the changes we wanted done.
What did you find most impressive about them?
There are lots of companies in the market that specialize in only design or coding, but we wanted a single partner. Divami handled everything from conceptualization, and design, to actual coding and delivery.
The founders of the company are hands-on people, knowledgeable about technology and design. This made a difference in terms of commitment and their ability to respond to specific needs, rather than simply manage the process. Their founder was able to address most of our queries, and actually, help us with suggestions and changes. They acted as more of a partner than a vendor to us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
One area where I would like to see a different approach in is testing. I would like to see more effort put into testing features on a sample user base. This isn’t part of their offering, and they would struggle with it if I pushed them. They don’t have a mechanism for user testing.
The app has gain significant traction in the medical community organically thanks to Divami Design Lab’s award-winning work. They successfully translated a theoretical vision into a tangible product, pleasing internal stakeholders. Customers can expect a communicative partner.
