Goddess is a European online store of cosmetics that operates as a centralized web marketplace. Having been operating in the market for quite some time, the client decided it was time to upgrade the store.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dinarys GmbH, and what were your goals?
Our mission at that time was to grow our online presence, increasing possibilities of selling remotely and reaching out to a wider international audience. That was the reason we created an e-commerce website, based on the Shopware 5 platform. Over time we noticed that the capacity of this platform isn’t strong enough to cope with both our further business development and ever-changing market needs.
Therefore, our challenge was to re-platform and redesign our old web-store, making it adapted to the reality of the modern market. To strengthen our website performance and increase our brand awareness, we decided to hire a team of professionals who can conduct full data migration to Shopware 6, redesign our website according to current e-commerce trends and add new functionality, where necessary.
Now I can say we made the right choice, hiring the Dinarys team. Generally, migration to Shopware 6 was our major goal. We required to transfer all existing data to the brand new platform, subsequently improving the main website functionality: building and integrating smarter search tools, develop custom plugins for easier and more efficient website navigation and purchasing process, etc.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Actually, it didn’t take much time to fix upon Dinarys. My friend, a CTO of the software development company in Europe, who dealt with them earlier, said this company was exactly what we had been looking for.
We discussed the project scope during the calls with the Dinarys team and produced a consistent and harmonized picture of our potential efforts. We were satisfied with the way Dinarys treated us from the outset and, therefore, didn’t hesitate in our future success.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
What has been done: full data and content migration to Shopware 6; website redesigning with a custom theme. Almost all website plugins have been developed manually, so we have a unique feature set on our website, which includes:
- product sliders with custom logic (for example, the system calculates the date and displays wines on the home page that have an anniversary this year)
- custom sliders for the product details page, cart, and newspaper page
- plugin for searching vintage newspapers
- custom website search with different filter options
- wine color swatch, so customers can see the exact wine color on the product detailed page, product listing, and sliders, etc.
The project tech stack consisted of Shopware 6 (PHP Symphony, Vue.JS), HTML, CSS, JS.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We mostly worked with back-end and front-end developers, DevOps experts, QA, and PM.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Now we have a fully revamped website, which certainly performs better than the old one. We enjoy all the integrated plugins, which let our customers dive deeper into the wine world and approach the selection process more consciously. That’s what we expected and what we’ve got due to Dinarys.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
As I said, we had been confident in this team from the very beginning, since Dinarys was recommended by my close friend. The most important thing is that there were no pitfalls and extra downtime. Our requests and expectations were carefully considered, and, after all, we received a modern web-store, which attracts more wine connoisseurs.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were highly engaged in the development process and enthusiastic about new ideas. I wish any service providers I work with were like Dinarys: punctual, creative, and meticulous.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Well, there is always a chance something could have been done differently. And that’s what Dinarys does - refines their skills and becomes more professional with each subsequent project.
Dinarys has successfully executed a fully automated and customized loyalty program, decreasing the client's cost per sale from paid advertising. Their workflow has been effective so far, and they communicate via Jira, Skype, and Slack. The team's constant update has earned the client's trust.
