The first challenge is our trading bot for our day-to-day operations, was not performing well due to legacy code issues and code structure problems making it not ready for production. It needed deep refactoring to transition from a basic prototype to a robust and scalable tool.

We also needed a good user experience for traders and an admin panel for setting up the platform parameters, monitoring performance, and making informed decisions. Addressing these challenges required not only technical expertise but also strategic vision to ensure seamless operations and user satisfaction. Additionally, the abrupt departure of one of our co-founders raised concerns about maintaining the integrity and security of our user base. These issues required urgent and expert handling to ensure the continuity and efficiency of our services.

The redevelopment of our trading bot increased our platform's performance and user satisfaction. The user interface was redesigned to offer a seamless user experience for traders, and the implementation of the community trading feature enabled users to mimic the strategies of our top performers. 
Our strategy to reduce Ethereum gas fees resulted in a threefold decrease, making the trades available for a broader range of traders. The overall performance improvements have been well-received, with some traders reporting as much as 4.5 times profits from their activities.

We had remote management computers and an on-site web client built by another developer. First, we needed DevTeam.Space to do an API connection that the site could allow the video calls and a manager web application to respond to calls and oversee rooms. This project further evolved into a security camera module so that our admin staff can monitor the facility at any time. As part of this module, we required the system to detect any moving objects automatically.
As a part of the web project, we required DevTeam.Space to build a statistics module that allows our admin to access information on each unit to support requests, ensure payments have been made, and that users have vacated the unit on time, etc. The next part of our engagement was a mobile application that allowed the connection of all of our 3 self-storage platforms, namely SiteLink, StoreEdge, and Ready Steady Store, with this mobile app so that our clients could independently find, rent, pay, and access the facility without the need for any assistance. 
This meant integrating the system with our storage new electronic locks. Another project, a lock management module, was crucial as our staff needed to ensure all electronic locks were properly assigned to the units and that no issues could result in unauthorized access to any of our storage units.

DevTeamSpace built and released 3 iOS/Android apps and developed a white-label B2B2C enterprise solution for our partners. The web app has massively reduced the amount of work our customers have had to do regarding booking units and helping their clients access them. Just one employee can now manage up to 7 storage buildings remotely, increasing our customers efficiency and thus their bottom line.

Usually, the team works through bi-weekly sprints and reports the progress twice a week via email. On top of that, we use Slack, Zoom, and a task management tool. At each of these conferences, we show demos with new features and added functionality. The developers and project managers from DevTeam.Space stays with us remotely during these demos and helps us with the product.

The main deliverables were establishing an efficient and transparent system for charitable contributions in the crypto space. We needed to create a set of smart contracts to implement our ideas and business requirements: ERC20 contract for the token, charity factory contract, staking contract, organization, campaign.

These contracts would handle the token reflections, taxes for each transaction, third-party KYC procedures, distribution of these taxes and interaction with DEX and liquidity pools. All these contracts needed to support upgradability and should be compatible with MetaMask.

Aside from the blockchain aspects, the team was emphasizing the importance of user experience. We needed to develop a user-friendly UI/UX design, building a website for charity registration and approval, and creating a digital wallet application for iOS and Android. This application would facilitate transactions, allowing users to purchase, donate, and stake tokens.

They did pretty much the whole product, starting with the UI/UX for the platform, smart contract architecture and the full estimate of the project. After the design and estimate approval, they developed the smart contracts and the mobile app in parallel. After the acceptance testing they deployed the smart contracts to Polygon, launched the website and sent the app to AppStore and Google Play for approval.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our app is now available on Google Play, while the iOS build is currently in the approval stage. The website was launched and smart contracts passed the security audit and are now operational on the Polygon network. The project has also drawn a financial backing, allowing me to secure a round of investments.

As a requirement from our investors, the project has been handed over to their in-house team for further development and management. With all that, the original platform will always receive development credit to Team Dev Space from me as I am super grateful for everything.

DevTeam.Space delivered a high standard of work. Their output was reviewed by our in-house team and received very positive feedback. However, in terms of budget and timeline, there were some extensions. This was mostly due to additional user stories that were incorporated into the scope during the development process.

Despite the timeline extension, DevTeam.Space ensured that we consistently had a build available to test and present to potential investors. Overall, while there were deviations from the initial plan, the quality of work and their consistent deliverables helped us maintain progress and attract investments.

They were also was highly responsive throughout the project. Their project manager Lisa was consistently available for discussions, and proactive in providing updates and feedback. The project took almost 2 years to complete and she did a great effort updating me on weekly meetings all this time.

I’m a project manager for Country Natural Beef, a rancher cooperative highly committed to producing premium beef products.

We are a cattle/beef company and we needed a web-based app to track animals, carcass data, beef inventory, and payments. A previous software company started developing this app and was bought out before it was finished, leaving us stranded. We were looking for another developer/team to finish the development and provide ongoing maintenance. We have been working with DevTeam.Space for the past year on our inventory management project.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We contacted them in November 2021 to ask for a code review of our existing app. They provided a well-written code review report and an estimate for the job. Very impressed with their work, we then asked them to fix the software issues and help us develop new features.

We need to be able to track individual animals as they are fed and harvested. As they are harvested, we need to break the carcass down into different cuts of beef produced from each animal. Finally, we need to track the inventory, invoice it out, and calculate payments to ranchers who supply the animals.

DevTeam.Space fixed a lot of user experience (menu, form entries, calculations, error messages, etc.) and database issues in the existing app, and increased the backend performance by adding asynchronous code. After getting the bugs fixed, we started working on new features such as creation of payments, generating invoices, importing and exporting animal data, and sorting and filtering the data.

We mostly spoke with their project manager, Lisa, and their developers Marc and Michael. Jeff handled the invoicing and accounting process.

All deliverables were done professionally and in a timely manner. Our website now handles our basic business needs. We are continuing to work with them to enhance and expand the capabilities of our solution.

We mainly use Slack and Notion for communication. Their project manager was regularly in touch and always available. They scheduled weekly meetings via Zoom with us to update us on the progress so that we could share our plans for the next week. We really appreciated the responsiveness and communication they maintained, as the previous developer group we worked with did not respond or communicate well.

Regular updates and milestone planning along with weekly reporting and readiness to change plans.

Some bugs reappeared from time to time but were fixed relatively quickly, so I can’t think of any major improvements.

We had identified a need in the summer camp industry for staff, especially seasonal staff who only are together for 2-3 months during the summer, to connect prior to arriving at camp and after leaving camp as a way to increase engagement with each other and the organization. In turn, our goal for this project was to create a virtual camp environment with teamwork games that these staff could play together as a way to increase connectivity and build community.

Initially, we were pitching our idea to a startup accelerator program for seed funding and needed to provide documentation of how we would use the funding and what that would provide us in terms of our first steps toward launch. We reached out to several app development companies.

During this past year, we worked on a per-game basis. Each game took anywhere from 1-3 months to design and develop. We initially began with a web-based version for demonstrations to prospective customers. With that alone, we secured our first 10 client organizations. From there, we were able to build the first game for mobile app (iOS and Android) and begin pilot testing with our clients.

DevTeamSpace was incredibly attentive to all of the details, requests for changes and updates, and to our timelines. With success in the pilot testing, we moved on to build our second game. This was completed and released to our clients in under 2 months. Again, for this, DevTeamSpace was always on-call to support us with any changes we needed in response to client requests and additional pilot testing.

Over time, our confidence in their abilities to troubleshoot and deliver on the product only grew stronger. Our final step in the process was to overhaul the user interface so that all instructions for playing the game were included on-screen–via explainers and tutorial bubbles–in order to launch a new pilot with a prospective funding organization.

This step, maybe even more than the previous ones, required a lot of patience, testing, quick and specific changes, and clear two-way communication between us and DevTeamSpace. Ultimately, the final product is *exactly* as we had hoped and we are more prepared to scale, which is critical to our growth.

Initially, a project manager was assigned to be our main point of contact. Once the scope of the project was understood and the development work began, our communication also included a developer team lead. Both of these individuals have been incredibly responsive, responsible, and cooperative in designing the games.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within 3 months we had a working web version of the first game, which allowed us to run demos for nearly 100 prospective clients. From those demos, we secured our first 10 clients. 4 months later we were live on mobile and running live demos at a conference, and less than 3 months after that we had launched our second game.

The feedback from our clients has been very positive and we are now running a pilot with a major funding organization as we look to scale. As co-founders of our startup, we are also very pleased with the deliverables and feel confident in what DevTeamSpace has helped us to create.

The project manager and developer team lead are both very professional and prompt in their communication. They are very clear about expectations, timelines, challenges encountered, solutions, and deliverables.

We generally communicate with them via a private Slack channel they established for us and also have frequent virtual meetings in real-time so that we can efficiently align around decisions and next steps.

They are responsive and proactive in how they communicate to let us know how things are going and what support they need from us to ensure they provide the deliverables we expect.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In addition to their knowledge of game design and ability to be thought partners in developing our app, the beautiful and creative graphics they’ve created for us, and their agility as we continue to learn and integrate user feedback into the design process, what I found most impressive about DevTeamSpace is their ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in an incredibly fast manner.

For example, we have audio communication capabilities built into the app (i.e., mic and speaker for team members to talk to each other while playing), and we had same very bad echo and feedback coming through at first. Within 36 hours they had tried multiple solutions and found one that completely resolved the issue. It was amazing and critical to our timeline of demonstrating the app for a prospective funder.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Early on in the project, the developer team lead assigned to our project was new to the position and figuring out his management style. I think more support for him early on would have helped, and he has continued to improve his skills in documentation, communication, setting clear expectations, and reporting on results.

I am the Associate Pastor of Technology at the Gateway Resource Library, a Global ministry of Gateway Church. We provide various church related resources to churches and pastors around the world. Our mission is to provide churches with resources and solutions to help build healthy, life-giving organizations.

For what projects/services did your company hire DevTeamSpace, and what were your goals?

We came to DevTeamSpace with a visual design concept of our Gateway Legacy Library, and asked them to build a mobile application. DevTeamSpace reshaped our current design by creating a slightly newer look and added several new features. They built the app, QA tested it to make sure it was running perfectly, and then deployed it to the App store.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I searched on the Internet and found their site. I emailed them and got a call back within a very short space of time. I then shared the scope of our project and their manager explained to me how it could be implemented. I liked how they handled it and decided to work with them.

I worked with a total of two dev teams, managed by different project managers. We had weekly sessions where they demonstrated the new features that they had implemented via new versions of the app. When the app was built, they tested it thoroughly to make sure that everything was running smoothly before publishing it in Google Play and AppStore.

Definitely professional! Whenever I had a question they always had an answer. Both of them were constantly reachable in Slack and very helpful at all times. They always provided a roadmap in Notion and addressed my comments in Figma.

I liked how great they were at keeping deadlines and addressing all issues.  Excellent team to work with!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In the future, we will probably need to build another app for the church, and they will definitely be my one and only choice.
