Devstree IT Services developed the app perfectly, and it’s already in the Apple Store. Since it’s new, we don’t have any metrics yet. However, I’m satisfied with the project overall. I would definitely work with Devstree IT Services again, including for Android projects.

They were great at project management. We had perfect communication using Skype messaging; they were available all the time even though we were in different time zones. We added our designers to the group chat so the Devstree IT Services could ask them their questions directly. They had great communication with our backend team as well.

Devstree IT Services knows exactly what they’re doing. I reviewed the code when they gave me the final version of the app, and it was perfectly done from a technical point of view. They understand software techniques and the design aspect of creating an app very well.

I’m the general manager and tech lead at Buddy Industries. We’re a digital media consulting and fintech company. We’ve created a nifty app with payments, a marketplace, and other apps within the more extensive app for multiple communities. From a digital marketing side, we also do custom development for games, websites, and applications.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have a few fixed-term development contracts with Devstree IT Services for resources to work full-time, and all our other projects are project-based. Currently, they have their own development teams working on a gambling website and multiple other Android applications.

The gambling game is built on Unity; it’s a Bergmann roulette game. Customers can register, log in, and play it based on their tokens. Once their tokens are depleted, they can load new ones through a payment gateway. Also, if they want tokens, they can bid through a referral system to invite more people to play and earn some additional tokens.

On the other hand, we have a lot of APIs, backend, and Android development work. One of the projects is an Android TV application, which runs on any smart TV and allows to display content, video, images, and real-time notifications on the Android device. Another project is done with React Native. Although it’s pretty simple, it’s a massive project. Devstree IT Services integrates existing APIs and works with us in product planning, additional scope, and bug fixes. There are many modules and components within it, and most of them are based on Node.js.

We work with 4–5 developers. James (Business Development Manager) is our primary contact.

One of my colleagues found them. They reached out to him, and then he gave them and other companies a call to get some information on their services. The biggest thing that stood out was their attitude towards problem-solving. All the other companies made up excuses, but with Devstree IT Services, it wasn’t a problem. They were always trying to help us solve the problem instead of complaining that it couldn't be fixed.

We gave them a short trial with a small project and then another project. The consultants allowed us to draw them over the limit for a week, and we haven’t been happier since then. Also, one of the reasons we decided to go with them was the way James communicated with us. The second reason was the big pool of resources that they had available.

At the end of this month, it’ll be around $12,000.

We began working together in April 2021. At the moment, we don’t have a fixed end date. Currently, we have full-time resources allocated to us under monthly contracts, and we have to cancel them with a one-month notice. On other projects, there’s maintenance and updates. Additionally, we’re working on new projects, which we consult with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They test everything before they hand it over to us, and then we do severe testing with our internal team. Based on the requirements and scope we’d set up, we make sure that everything functions as it was listed. Also, we do other tests in terms of scalability and try to find issues that could alter the requirements.

How did Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent; James takes care of everything. They generally keep to their timelines, but extensions and additional requirements are part of the software development life cycle. Nonetheless, Devstree IT Services is always upfront with us if something will cause the timeline to change. They communicate it to us in advance.

We have our own project management tool, but we don’t share it with them. To communicate, we mainly use Google Sheets. We have a project template where we share non-verbal feedback. Also, we chat via Skype the entire day with the developers. With James, we also have a lot of Skype calls, which we appreciate because sometimes it’s good to have a verbal conversation.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication and attitude are their two main outstanding qualities.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can improve on documentation, but we haven’t had any major issues with them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have open communication with the team. If you don’t communicate your requirements practically and feasibly, they can’t understand what you need. Also, you need to follow up and continuously chat with them.

I’m a shareholder and director of a software development company that creates an exam processing automation tool.

We needed to develop iOS and Android versions of our tool, which is currently a client-based platform.

They helped us create an online version of the tool, as well as mobile apps for both iOS and Android. For the online version, they were working from our existing tool, which they integrated with an API. However, their team built the mobile apps from scratch, since there was no existing mobile tool.

Personally, I worked with at least seven members of their team. One person was testing the products, two were working on iOS, two others developed the Android app, and three more were working on the web platform.

Initially, we just hired them to develop the Android version of our tool. However, we saw how on top of the project they were, which made us confident in giving them more work. We requested that they work on the iOS app for the same reason we brought them on for our Android work, and we moved them over to develop the web app after that.

We started working together in March 2021, and the project is ongoing.

We are still in the development process, but the initial prototype that they have shown us is very, very good.

They are pretty good when it comes to project management. They use GitHub or some similar tool to manage projects. We communicate with them primarily through phone calls and emails.

They are really good at making you feel comfortable and understanding your needs. They take the time to comprehend any issues, and they are very friendly throughout.

It’s a bit difficult to ask for improvements during the development process, because there are so many factors that influence whether or not the product works. However, from the initial experience point of view, they are doing a pretty good job.

They are friendly, keen to understand your needs, and are good at setting deadlines. We’ve really found them to be well-suited for our project.

We’re in the hospitality technology industry, and we service our customers with radio frequency identification technology. I’m the president and CEO of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd.?

Devstree was helping us to automate the inventory process to reduce inventory loss for one of our hotel customers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Devstree helped us develop an app that checks out pool towels to guests. The app scans the product and uploads it to the cloud to know which guest is taking the towels back to their room.

They basically built two apps that work together. The first app collects information about the user, and the second app is a utility backend. So one is for guests, and it’s for Android and iOS, and the other is for the property and just for Android.

To jumpstart the project, we provided an outline of what we wanted and some graphic examples of how we wanted the interface to look. Then, they put it all together in a timely manner.

A few people were assigned to work with us. Overall, we had an account manager and an app developer.

We’d developed the first half about a year and a half ago, and then we just went back to do the second half with them.

I wish they would’ve had more documentation, but it wasn’t required. That would be a good thing for their projects going forward.

I had an idea for an app that I needed help developing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd. developed an Android app for my company. The first was a high-end designer delivery app that would allow customers to get deliveries from high-end clothing and accessory shops, including Macy’s, Lord and Taylor, and more. 

All clients had to do was send a snapshot of their receipt and the closest delivery person would be dispatched to pick up your order. We promised delivery within one hour of purchases. We intended to run a pilot of this app in Manhattan since we were targeting high-end clientele.

Our engagement ran from March–June 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

In terms of efficacy, they were spot on. They were able to deliver on every detail in the business outline in terms of functionality. Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to put the breaks on the rollout. However, given how much I loved the first product I decided to work with Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd. again on a second app.

Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd. always met deadlines, and often finished a week or two prior to the deadline. Our teams communicated via video conferencing on WhatsApp.

Their team is honest and trustworthy, they keep their word. This made for a very pleasant experience. They are head and shoulders above anyone in their areas. Their level of professionalism is beyond belief.

Be sure to dot all your i’s and cross all your t’s before engaging with them. The more information you have prepared in advance, the better the product will be.

Black Cat & Co is a provider of mental health services and contract engineering services. I am the sole trader and owner of the company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd.?

Black Cat & Co. needed an app that would help distribute meditation sound tracks to our clients and potentially expand the business to include remote customers we currently not able to provide for in person.

What were your goals for this project?

Help as many people as possible to achieve better mental health outcomes and spiritual development potential.

How did you select Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd.?

They seemed like the best fit for the job. The listing on the UpWork website had good reviews and they had relevant experience for the project.

Describe the project in detail.

I provided a basic idea of what the app should look like and the guys at Devstree started on design straight away. They provided timely updates on progress and we had a mock-up design within, I think, a week of starting.

The design progressed smoothly through the project, from app flow to actual functionality. They were flexible in their approach to things that I needed to supply and I got ample notification ahead of time when I needed to contribute to the project. We are now in the final stages of testing and ironing out bugs.

What was the team composition?

I had been mainly communicating with the project manager/customer liaison at the start of the project. Towards the middle of the project, I was working closely with the engineer (which suits me well, given my background). I was aware that there was a network/back end design engineer working in the background.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app is nearing completion. We still have a couple of bugs to resolve, but the team is very responsive to feedback, cooperative, and flexible. I have no doubt that, by the time I have content created, we will have a functional and aesthetically pleasing application to release into the world. I'm exceptionally pleased with the outcomes of this project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I found the team very easy to work with, despite the time differences we had to contend with through the project. Communication around budget and timeline was clear from the outset.

We worked through Skype and that worked out really well. We were able to share documents, graphics, and screenshots. I was given plenty of time to deal with the things that needed to happen from my end and the team found a way to be flexible by using their own resources when I encountered delays.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was very impressed with the professionalism with which business was conducted, their flexibility and ability to take feedback on board, while still sense-checking my suggestions for design and challenging my thinking where needed.

The speed with which these guys work is impressive. I have managed software developers before and found these guys to be amazingly fast while the quality did not suffer.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I think they are doing a fantastic job and we will finish with a great app that I'll be proud to share with my clients and the larger community. My personal feeling is that we could have probably slowed down a bit in places to troubleshoot a couple of persistent issues that presented. Sometimes going slower results in faster progress. But that is a question of style and we all have a different way of troubleshooting.

I am the director and co-founder of my company, Fingertips Technologies. We are a mobile lifestyle application company that aims to provide our app users with convenient information at their fingertips to empower them to go exploring.

We had to develop iOS and Android mobile applications, as well as a backend tool for the master admin and our merchants. We initially hired another develop to develop these but they were unable to deliver on a few of our core functionalities so we turned to Devstree to take over the project.

What were your goals for this project?

Our app is location-based, utilising geofencing technology to allow users to find out what's happening near them. Checking in at locations will also allow users to receive instant highlights and flash sale information posted by merchants using the merchant backend tool. This necessitated a multi-layer linkage system, eg. in the general neighbourhood area, there are malls, events and attractions, and inside them, retail shops.

How did you select Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd.?

We considered many companies, and eventually selected Devstree because they have a local representative that we could communicate to easily, and because the cost was reasonable and all rights to the source codes will belong to us. They were also able to execute and implement our desired app functions that our initial developers were unable to.

Our iOS and Android are native apps, of which the content of the app is controllable by the backend that has role-based access (master admin and merchants). This meant that 4 programming languages were involved: XCode Swift, Java, PHP and Angular JS. The devstree developers were well skilled in all the aforementioned programming languages, and supported us in implementing our desired app features.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned two project managers, one local, and one from India overlooking the progress of our app and web developments. There were also many other developers involved, including one for iOS, one for Android and two for the backend.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At the time of this review, we just published our app on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, so we don't have much metrics to share. That said, the final app and backend are free of any major bugs and flaws, and we are going to be continuing to work with Devstree to implement some improved look and feel etc.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicated regularly with our developers via Whatsapp and Skype. Although offshore (we are in Singapore and Devstree developers in India), we did not really face any language barriers or time difference.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The developers are very skilled in what they do, and they are able to quickly implement our desired features - this is an especially pleasant surprise considering our experience with our previous developer who relied heavily on templates in their coding.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The project took longer than expected to complete. Perhaps the process could have been quickened if there is a more stringent QA stage. That said however, delays were inevitable due to the pandemic situation.

We currently don't see any area where Devstree IT Services Private Limited needs to improve. We must suggest to any new company that may want to use their services, that they should ensure to determine all the requirements of the project beforehand, because it can really slow down the development if Devstree IT Services Private Limited, needs to pause the project and wait for new requirements.
