I’m the director of Sheepskin Tailors, a company that manufactures sheepskin products. It is a 90-year-old business, and we’ve been online since about 2004.

What challenge were you trying to address with Design Box Digital?

My business had to get online, so I contacted Tristan (CEO) to help me out. We’ve been working together for nearly 20 years now.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Design Box originally built my website sheepskintailors.com.au from scratch; I just told Tristan what I wanted, and he built it for me. We’ve been working together for so long that they know what I want, and we’ve kept a pretty simple website over the years.

Tristan works closely with me on changes and updates. Whenever I’m not sure about something, we discuss it, and he recommends me the best way to go. Additionally, he explains how everything works whenever necessary because I occasionally ask for something that can’t be done.

In addition to web design and development, Design Box has also helped me with SEO for the last three years. In past years, I went to other companies for SEO, but I had bad experiences with those other companies. Whenever this happened, I went to Design Box, and they helped me make things right. Among other things, they’ve helped me correct bad backlinks other companies created, so we now always have quality backlinks. Additionally, they constantly ensure that my site is Google-friendly.

Tristan was local to me. When I first reached out to him, his business was young, and we were both in a position where we were trying to advance our businesses. I’ve only met him in person once in 18 years.

I’ve spent about $50,000 AUD (approximately $32,000) in total over the last 18 years.

I started working with them around January 2004, and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since Design Box has taken over my SEO, my site ranks in first, second, and third places for related keywords Australia-wide. Moreover, my website is clean and user-friendly; that’s my customers’ feedback.

Design Box is the only SEO provider I have now, and all of my business comes from the organic rankings they help me achieve because I don’t do digital advertising at all. Thanks to their great work, I now work seven days a week because my phone doesn’t stop ringing. In the last three years, my business has grown threefold; whatever Design Box is doing, they’re doing it right.

Now, I have people from around the world wanting to buy my products, which I can’t do because we don’t sell overseas. If it wasn’t due to the challenges of employing people in Australia, I would have already expanded my business with staff. Overall, it is an honor to leave a review for Design Box; they’ve done a lot for my business.

How did Design Box Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Design Box’s services are great; they take care of everything and keep it organized for me. Working with them is very easy, and Tristan always ensures to keep things simple. As a business owner, I want everything to flow well and be organized. I don’t want to go back and revisit things over and over. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that with Design Box.

If every part of my business ran as smoothly as it does while working with Design Box, I wouldn’t have any problems. Working with them is streamlined and easy. Although they’re busy, whenever I call them, they get back to me the same day; even on their busiest days, they never forget me.

Additionally, Design Box always does what I want. Tristan always gives me excellent recommendations and makes things happen. They look after my online presence very well, helping me have a successful online business.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m very impressed with Design Box’s knowledge. They do web development using SEO best practices, which is way better than people who only offer SEO services. Tristan is very people-friendly; he explains everything to me and keeps things in simple terms. Additionally, he is very clear when explaining things to me so that I understand and don’t get confused.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything they could improve on. If there was something they could do differently, I would tell them directly. In 18 years, I’ve never had a bad experience working with Design Box, and I’m so grateful that I met them because they’re always there for me.

I wanted to have a better, nicer website and have it be more visible and rank higher on Google.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Design Box has built my new website and helps me with SEO. First, I told the team about the services I offer and the areas I service. I also gave them an idea of the look I wanted for the site; I was focused on easy navigation and an aesthetic that matched my business. 

The team built the site from scratch using WordPress. I had final approval on every element, including the images. From there, they suggested keywords that would be cost-effective on Google Ads while still being relevant and high-ranking. They’ve done SEO-focused structural changes to the site, and now they help with blog posting, backlinking, and managing Google Ads. Additionally, Digital Box handles any changes to the website. 

What is the team composition?

I work with 2–3 people from Digital Box, including a web designer and an ad manager.

I searched them up on Google. I chose Design Box because we’re both based in Melbourne, which was convenient for me.

The web development was about $5,000 AUD (approximately $4,000 USD). I spend $500 AUD (approximately $400 USD) a month on SEO and maintenance.

We started working together around July 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m pretty happy with Design Box’s work. My site ranks number one on Google for certain local keywords in Melbourne, which is beautiful. They've also provided value for money with the keywords. Pretty much all of my business now comes from the website. Additionally, I love the site, and I don’t really want to change much about it. 

How did Design Box Digital Marketing and SEO perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve had no issue with their project management. They’re super fast at responding to emails, and it’s really easy to get in touch with them if I have any questions. We usually communicate via email or over the phone. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with Digital Box’s service. They’re super responsive and never leave me waiting around for anything. Although I’m not an expert on websites, the information the team gives me is easy to understand — they communicate clearly. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they need to improve on; I’m still using them because I’m pretty happy and have no complaints.

Fill in the contact form to send them an email, and then Design Box will pretty much guide everything from there. You don’t have to know everything; you just need to have a small idea or inkling of what you want. They’re great at suggesting things that will be useful. You won’t like you're just being sold to either — they give good advice.
