We needed someone to develop our mobile application and our website because we wanted to have everything online.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Depex Technologies is developing our mobile app that is yet to come into the market; it'll be available on both iOS and Android. Their team is also in charge of the UI/UX design, for which they came up with the mockups and sent them to us to approve. Once the application is finished, they'll do testing to put it live once they have our approval.

Depex Technologies has also developed our website from scratch, including the front and backend using Java and WordPress. Through the site, they’ve given us better access to blogging.

More than 20 people are working on the application, the website, and the testing. They have a project manager, team leads, QA, Android, and iOS developers among their members.

We started working together in December 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

The website is user-friendly, and its quality is good — everything is under control, and I appreciate their efforts.

How did “Depex Technologies” perform from a project management standpoint?

They work in an agile methodology, so everything is planned ahead of time, and their team also does a great job following our timelines — I’m delighted with their execution. I appreciate their down-to-earth way of working. In terms of communication, they have daily scrum meetings with one of my technicians.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their work culture is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be more into defining the scope of work. They do the development, implementation, and testing, but we expected more marketing strategies and plans to help clients grow their businesses.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have excellent communication from the start. Making something from scratch isn’t easy, so plan everything ahead of time — if you’re not communicating with them, you can’t expect good results.

We needed someone to develop a new website for us because we weren’t happy with the company we were working with.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Depex Technologies developed our website from scratch. We gave them the details of the products, the descriptions, product images, and all the content that was required to be on the website. They used Laravel and it’s hosted on AWS. Since the website was completed, we’ve been having them add two new functionalities.

We communicated with a lot of companies. Most had stopped working due to COVID-19, but Depex Technologies sent us an email. We got in touch with them and after a video conference, we decided to work with them.

We started working together in May 2020 and the relationship is ongoing.

They’re good, quick, and completed the work we asked them for. They’re also really up-to-date with the market.  My company’s management is very satisfied with the quality of work.

How did Depex Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve managed the project very well. Any problems we have regarding the website, design changes, and hosting issues, they solve it all. They offered to use Jira or Trello but I prefer email and WhatsApp, so they’re willing to use what we prefer. They’re very cooperative and understanding and are ready to make changes at any time. The team is very flexible.

They’re very talented in everything they do. I respect their team and the work that they do. They’re also well aware of new technologies. They’re very good and cost-efficient. Their team is very honest and transparent — I admire their work.

We reached out to Depex Technologies to help us develop a team collaboration app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Depex Technologies developed the first phase of an MVP of our project management platform for web and mobile (iOS and Android). The app allows teams of people to communicate and manage projects from different geographies. They're currently working on the second phase of development, improving features and building it to scale, and providing marketing services as well.

We work with 8–9 people on their team, including a project lead, a senior developer, an Android developer, an iOS developer, two UI/UX designers, a quality auditor, and a graphic designer. 

How did you come to work with Depex Technologies?

Depex Technologies reached out to us through email and we started conversations with Rajneesh (Global Business Head, Depex Technologies) from there. We were impressed by their proficiency and agile approach to project management, so we decided to give them a shot. 

How much have you invested with them? 

We've invested close to $150,000 thus far, but we anticipate that we'll invest around $250,000 by the time the second phase is completed. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working together since January 2017 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Depex Technologies has been instrumental in turning our ideas into a reality. With about 10,000 downloads, it already has decent traction by users in the market so far. Their marketing and business team continues to help improve awareness of the platform as well, so we're confident in its future success. 

How did Depex Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great to work with overall. They use agile methodologies and track project progress in Jira, mostly communicating with us through Skype, phone, and email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The accessibility, approachability, and professionalism of their team set them apart. They're also a one-stop-shop for all our needs, including development, marketing, and business, which has made it a lot easier for us as a startup.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really–I don't have any regrets. Considering the investment, however, it would be nice to be offered some discounted services but they're already working on that. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When starting a new business or product, it's important to dedicate a lot of time and attention to it. Having a team like Depex Technologies that can do it all can help make that process a lot easier.

Our company has been around since the 1980s, and we operate in many sectors internationally, from real estate to the travel industry. We have offices in the UAE, Beirut, the US, and the UK. 3 UMUMI is one part of our organization.

 Apart from this, we run flight and hotel booking platforms, and real estate portals, all within our segment. We’re trying to expand globally. I currently serve as the CTO of 3 UMUMI, in charge of all its technological advancements.

What challenge were you trying to address with Depex Technologies?

It was nothing big. We had a technical challenge on our end, regarding getting a license for payment-gateway compliance from our company. I wanted to introduce our company from Beirut to take over the payments, and I was in communication with our local banking here for this purpose, which took time. Apart from this, it was difficult to develop using the local tech team, which had other tasks.

What was the scope of their involvement?

In terms of the technical challenges faced by Depex, we had planned for applications with ride-sharing and payment features. They would allow users to select pickup and drop-off locations, would use search and real-time tracking algorithms, and would have a dashboard. Building these would require research, development, and project management efforts.

In terms of mobile app development technologies, they used Swift 4.0 for iOS, and Java and Kotlin for Android. along with that, they used advanced agile project management and DevOps methodologies and tools. Apart from that, they integrated Google Maps GPS features, and they made custom development for the payment features. The website was developed using Node.js and AngularJS, which were their proposals as the most up-to-date technologies to use.

What is the team composition?

Rajneesh (Global Business Head, Depex Technologies) is our main contact. Altogether, there must be around 15 people on the Android, iOS, website, UI, testing, and deployment teams.

 How did you come to work with Depex Technologies?

They’re our regular provider. Apart from this platform, we’ve developed three other custom applications with them in the past.

 How much have you invested with them?

Our total investment so far on this project has been $250,000.

 What is the status of this engagement?

We started the overall collaboration with Depex Technologies in 2015, and we’ve developed a few applications since then. 3-UMUMI-wise, we started the work in December 2016.

We’ve wrapped up, but the maintenance and bug-fixing work is still going on through an annual contract. There’s a lot more to implement on the apps in order to compete with other rideshare apps.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re getting very good feedback from the market and from partners and investors. All of our investors are happy with it. The initial launch made a lot of profit for our organization, and we’re thinking about launching it globally. If we do this, we will be launching the app in multiple languages and currencies.

How did Depex Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They used agile methodologies, along with DevOps. We had daily scrum meetings, and everything was executed based on the scrum stories. Each and every detail was planned in the lines of “You will be getting this result with this development time, and this is what’ll be going on in the next phases.”. App development took a bit more time to complete, but everything was good apart from that.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s their communicational and management skills. They listen and understand well, and they take creative part in what they’re developing. There are some quite innovative areas in the apps we’re developing.  Depex delivered well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, but they should continue to stay up to date with the latest technologies coming into the market.

 Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Depex is a dependable and innovative company, and I recommend hiring them. They’re more focused on quality than quantity.

Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a full house IT company based in South Africa and I am the CEO/Founder of Pro Media Mogul and Edu Sams.

For what projects/services did your company hire Depex Technologies?

We hired Depex Tech for writing specialized code and develop a new product which is cutting edge coding. I can't say too much about the future development and it's confidential and we have about 3 to 5 years more add on features to the work they currently doing.

What were your goals for this project?

When I speak of any function they will produce the code for it, they have this awesome team that understands what I want. We developed the app from scratch without any pre-written code as it was a brand new concept. So they met all my expectations achieved my goals in phase 1 on the project.

How did you select this vendor?

It took me 3 years of research to find Depex and I visited India on several occasions looking for the right company to start this project. I interviewed 1000's of codes and all could not deliver. Then by chance, I responded to an email campaign and it was business at first sight.

The project consists of an App (both android and ios), website, cloud basically everything from A to Z. The future development and features of the project itself are confidential as we are breaking new ground on things not available.

What was the team composition?

They have a full inhouse team that can handle anything you throw at them. They handle everything from AI to the basic website. They have project leaders (like Rajneesh Chauhan) who has the ability to make the team perform at optimum levels.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Well, it's simple. The project was my brainchild and they delivered on time which was April 2019. This has made a major difference in my business. I have confidence that my business can grow with Depex Technologies by my side. They always push me to the limits with all their skills.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I met with the Team at Depex a month after they start the project, the meeting was purely a face to face presentation of my feelings and ideas for the project and in my meeting, I got to understand that they worked together. They had an efficient project leader who was fluent in English as I'm from South African and don't speak Hindi. The team could understand Hindi but he added that special touch to bring all together.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The ability to produce cutting edge code. My project needed things that were not available so it could not be cloned it had to be coded from scratch. The future of the project as well needs this skill so they will be working on future developments of my project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Yes. They need to improve on the spelling or use google translate when working and English based app. I had to correct them with some basic grammar. That was the only issue I had other than that it was all OK.

For what projects/services did your company hire "Depex Technologies", and what were your goals?

We required a web system from which customer can select their favorite food item and show they approximated timeline for the order dynamically and also the quote system in which customer can have an Estimate for his requirements before truly placing the order.

We shared our requirement with team of Depex Technologies via zoom meeting and they look very professional and provide us all he features that our system required they answered all the questions what we have, they also explain the process how they will going to work on my project.

As I earlier mention that we discussed all our requirements via zoom meeting , and then they started the work on, first they show all the designs and then they are implement the development, I don't know how they develop , reason I am not much technical. But I was happy to see the design and functionalities.

First the business analyst let us know all the features and then one project manager assign to check and review the work. Internally how may employee worked on my project I don't know.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After completion our work, our customers given us the good feedback and the entire system work smoother then the old one.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Yeah, Communication was good , I haven't faced any issue either from the BA of the project manager. Every one was available on time , no any issue.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am much happy that they know that what I need , on of the team member I missed the name , he also explain my business features e.g. I can create a bar code for payment and develop the application etc.. I was much impressed by that person.

No no , they are smart and on time guys'.

They’ve worked more than 4,600 hours on this project, creating a new, 100% mobile marketplace for on-demand home services. The app allows users to book any service from local service providers. Depex Technologies continues to improve the apps.

The app has been launched in the app stores, but we are not promoting it yet because we are still making changes to the functionality.  

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They are always available when we need them and consistently meet our deadlines. Their team has good internal coordination.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They’ve patiently listened and supported us until we got what we wanted. They understand our situation and needs.

They should have fixed weekly calls to review all the items, do brainstorming, and measure progress.
