Curenav needed upgrades and updates that included additional calendar features to their current app and modernizing the entire design to look sleek and more polished.
Curenav was updated for iOS and Android using the cross-platform software Xamarin. Curenav’s mission is to help solve the greatest pains of cancer patients – the need to know what is going on in their bodies, what they can do about it, and what their best chance of success looks like – and use this knowledge to reduce cancer mortality for everyone dealing with this disease today and in the future.
The UI design of the app focuses on modernization and sleekness to really match the functionality of the app. The app provides intuitive digital tools and dashboards that allow you to keep up with the details in your journey while easily sharing reports with your caregivers or supporters. Curenav is a patient-driven navigation tool that will define the future of cancer management and we made sure that the design reflects the user's needs and provides patients with a great user experience.
Since patients often have a busy schedule and need a good way to organize their life, we added a way for users to create events and appointments on the new calendar feature. This allows users to utilize the app for all aspects of the health journey.
Vehicle Transportation
Project Summary
Virginia Transportation Corporation needed an app that removed all the manual tasks of delivering vehicles including arrival/departure updates and documenting damages.
VTC Mobile for Virginia Transportation Corporation was developed for iOS and Android using the cross-platform software Xamarin. The app allows drivers to log in to the VTC database and access current load data. The driver can choose to accept loads and update arrivals/departures from pick-up and drop off locations.
Social Network
Project Summary
The Unrapp team came to us looking to take their current app and have it recreated using a cross-platform program to allow for faster updates and app longevity. New features were added to allow for a seamless user experience and fast video encoding.
Unrapp's key features includes photo editing and sharing, camera/screen simultaneous video encoding, and payment capabilities. Unrapp provides a social platform for users to send images, which are digitally wrapped, then sent to the chosen recipients. The recipient must swipe the screen to unveil their gift while the front camera captures raw reaction footage. This footage is then shared with the gift giver to complete the gift giving experience.
Rocketsaur
Project Summary
Rocketsaur was created with the notion that comedy and action are not mutually exclusive. It's an action game where the goal is to stay alive, but get a good laugh when you lose.
Fly Rex or one of his friends through an army of robotic arms in this action-packed 2D game. Maneuver through obstacles and collect more coins the farther you go and unlock achievements while sharpening your skills. Use your coins to uncover exciting new characters.

BitToast LLC came to us to help them create a macro tracking app that can be used on all major mobile platforms. The app needed to have the capability to track, create, and scan food to calculate calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates.
Food Bite is a health app meant to help people lose weight and meet their fitness goals. The app breaks down complicated calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates and are calculated into one singular number known as "Bites."
DoTERRA Oils
Project Summary
The DoTERRA Oils app contains information vetted from top sources, real oil users, doctors, physicians, and medical professionals. The goal was to provide a platform for essential oil users that is interactive and users are able to apply the use of oils in a way that suits them. There are hundreds of health, wellness, and medical conditions listed in this essential oil reference guide app specific to each oil, with detailed instructions how to apply and use every oil.
The user interface of the app was designed to focus on the use of all the information that the app has to offer. The home screen breaks down the oil information contained in the app into the main topics (usage guide, single oil information, etc). From there, the users are able to choose the topic that interests them and want to learn more about. The design is simplistic and straight to the point.
One of the key features of the app is the capability to save information regarding oils and medical conditions. This feature allows the users to save notes about their experience and use. This is important to users as everyone has different oil applications and they can personalize the app in a way that is relevant to them. Since there are hundreds of oils to choose from, saving notes on the oils is critical to documenting your experience.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a gift-giving mobile app business.
What challenge were you trying to address with Denovo Studios?
We contracted Denovo Studios to help build out some features and get our app into the app store.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Alongside our development team, Denovo Studios developed the features of an app that allows users to send a digital gift to someone via an image. Once someone receives the gift, they can digitally unwrap it on the screen.
When they do that, the front camera catches their reaction and sends it back to the sender. The team wrote the code in Xamarin so that if there are any changes, we only need to update the code once versus trying to update each platform’s code separately.
What is the team composition?
Andy (Founder) is my main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Denovo Studios?
I found them on Upwork.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent approximately $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in January 2019. They just wrapped up their last project, but we may engage them in the future if we have something to add.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Denovo Studios is very responsive, and if we have an issue, Andy is usually quick to jump on it.
How did Denovo Studios perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re quite good as far as managing our requests and mapping out the steps that need to be taken to finish the project. This gives us insights of timing, when things are going to be done, and what we can expect in the next phase.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to develop in Xamarin is a good skill.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could improve on their QA to make sure that the functionalities of all versions are working well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Even though they’re an outside third-party, it feels like they’re a part of your team. They were so intertwined with what we were doing, which was a nice feeling.

We started working together in October 2018, and we wrapped up in January 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were able to double-bill hours since there were two people working on the project, not just one. Otherwise, it was nice to have someone else to talk about the specifics of the app. Their design work was invaluable and helped me work on the backend things and the business logic.
How did Denovo Studios perform from a project management standpoint?
They were excellent. Things were always done when they said they would be. The team was very good at estimating time, and asking for clarification when things weren’t clear.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very good with communication. The team is able to speak intelligently about what they’re going to do and what potential issues would be. I’ve had a lot of contractors just nod their heads, without knowing what I’m asking for, and do whatever they want. Denovo Studios really took the time to understand what I was looking for.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, no that I can recall.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I don’t think I had to do a lot. They asked me when they needed information, and I would make sure to inform them when the scope of work changed.

We hired them for Xamarin app development.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal was to give a facelift to the existing app we had in production, as well as implement new features and integrate work from other contracted companies on the job.
How did you select Denovo Studios?
We found them on Upwork and selected them amongst several other companies and freelancers after having great early engagement talks.
Describe the project in detail.
The project is a multiple form app designed to allow users to input sensitive data. As such, the dev team was to help with providing security as well as implementing a much-improved design that kept much of the same functionality from the production app.
What was the team composition?
We only engaged with Andy.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The project was a success. Furthermore, they were great for helping us fix bugs that other developers outside of their organization had made and helpful in brainstorming sessions.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Highly effective as we talked at least 2 times every day.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The willingness to help out even when they don't have to. Furthermore, their time management was very nice to see too.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None that come to mind
Denovo Studios tackles requests very proactively. Additionally, their ability to outline all the steps needed to complete the project and their Xamarin capabilities have been valuable assets. Despite being a service provider, they feel like a part of the internal team.
