Madwall, as a platform is supposedly the pit-stop to present days’ unemployment and staff shortage issues at the same time. In fact, the platform doubles up as a professional recruitment solution and an on-demand staffing service. Both jobseekers and clients can download the app and register, free of cost. Later, they can search for the available job offerings and get hired at their desired wage.

BACKGROUND

iLead Integrated Solutions is a market leader in providing varied enterprise solutions for maximizing the capabilities of existing businesses, broaden marketing, sales, and customer-related services through a range of products that pertain to multiple business areas. I was the project manager and a backend developer for this collaboration. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

We had a mobile application version of our document management system (DMS) that we wanted to enhance and expand, and we were looking for an outsourcing partner to handle that work. The application is not for the public to use; users must purchase our full DMS solution (iDOX) in order to use the mobile application and connect it to their network. 

SOLUTION

Debut Infotech conducted both iOS and Android app development. We provided them with the required web services and APIs. The original application had bugs and issues and was developed using old APIs and methods. In addition to modernizing the product, we also wanted to add new features to keep up with our web and desktop applications.

We handled the backend development (database and web services), and Debut Infotech handled the mobile applications. They upgraded the APIs, fixed the bugs, and added features as per our requirements. We were constantly monitoring the work in order to explain the business logic and sequence.

I found Debut Infotech after searching on Google for the "best application development companies." I went over all the results that were priced at less than $25 per hour and had Skype calls with 5 providers. We chose Debut Infotech because they were professional, could work quickly, and quoted a low hourly rate. The development process took 3 months. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

We haven't had to modify Debut Infotech’s work except for some parts that were business-specific. We had several sessions with the team to discuss our business and how the main application should function. We sent design guidelines to the team and received screens for the work every 2 days. They only required minor alterations.

Our clients haven’t tested the new applications yet due to a delay from our side in publishing the application. However, we have tested the application ourselves and made sure that all of our requirements were met. I can’t think of anything that they could’ve done better.

With our previous mobile app version, our clients would often share complaints. Now, I think the new options will have a positive impact on our clients and, consequently, on our business opportunities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Debut Infotech?

I had a retail client who wanted to develop a mobile app for their business. I was the product manager for this project.

I had already done the user stories/wireframes for the app. I needed a multiplatform application with a backend panel and both Android and iOS apps for employees.

SOLUTION

How did you come to work with Debut Infotech?

I already had complete UI/UX design of the app. In the process, I started to work on identifying potential companies. I vetted at least half a dozen suppliers in Europe, South Asia, and India. I had few calls with Debut Infotech’s team and interviewed their developer to judge their technical skills.

Once we finished the vetting process, we felt confident that Debut Infotech was the right firm to partner with for two big reasons. First, they have strong in-house developers. Second, from a project management standpoint, they gave me an incredible amount of flexibility for changing priorities.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in January and will last for four months.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

Debut Infotech worked relentlessly to help us complete this project on time and within budget, which was phenomenal. The product is live and currently used by our retail customer. We are very happy with the overall development cycle. We also have a maintenance agreement with Debut Infotech.

How did Debut Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?

Debut Infotech’s team was very committed. They're available anytime during the day. Public holidays, weekends—it doesn't matter. If I had a question, they responded very quickly. It's very clear within the development team who is doing what, so it makes it easy to find the right person to talk to straight away. The collaboration tools they used made the process smooth.
