Grad School Prep Logo Design
I was approached by Grad School Prep to design a logo to accompany the newly launched website. The client had already "prepped" me with the idea of the owl and I sent at least 11 variations of lettering and different owls before this one was chosen!

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Grad School Prep, and we're located in Fort Worth, Texas. I help students with their resumes and admissions essays. I also provide consultations to students to address their questions regarding graduate school admissions.
What challenge were you trying to address with Daniel DeHart Design?
I partnered with Daniel DeHart Design to help us with our branding.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I showed Daniel DeHart Design several owls that I looked at, including a design I found on Adobe. After that, I told them I wanted a personalized owl for my company. They then gave me a survey to examine what I liked and didn’t like.
As a result, they created images with text and other elements to finish the logo, following my preferences. Initially, they proposed 11 different ideas, and in the end, they were able to narrow it down to two logo variations.
What is the team composition?
We only worked with Dan (Business Owner).
How did you come to work with Daniel DeHart Design?
They were recommended by our web designer. After seeing their work, she thought that they could do a good job.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent close to $400.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our collaboration ran from September–October 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Dan was particularly good at giving us options such as different fonts, looks, and more. He was also great at taking account of what I was looking for, and he produced great designs. On top of that, he offered a reasonable price, and he was very patient with me even though I kept making changes.
How did Daniel DeHart Design perform from a project management standpoint?
Daniel DeHart Design was super fast and had a great project management workflow. We mostly kept in touch through phone calls and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to generate multiple concepts was impressive. I worked with other companies in the past and they didn’t have as many concepts as Daniel DeHart Design. Overall, we could really tell that they really brainstormed and thought about what they were going to produce for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they were awesome. Our engagement went really well, and the team was able to do what they needed to do.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The more specific you can be upfront, the closer they can produce what you need. In fact, they have a lot of good ideas to share that you can use on your deliverables.
Daniel DeHart Design had remarkable design skills, which allowed them to successfully develop the client’s logo. The team also showed great commitment and flexibility when they implemented all of the client’s requests. Quick and patient, they fostered a positive partnership.
