Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our company is a charity that works across several issues related to poverty.
What challenge were you trying to address with damolade consulting?
We wanted to increase our traffic from search results and optimize our website to achieve that mission, and to disambiguate our search results from our sister organization’s.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve gone through a few phases with damolade consulting, including backend information architecture, site map analysis, and recommendations. They’ve also helped us with ideas for blog posts based on SEO and search volumes for different keywords.
We’ve been able to analyze which terms are relevant to us in general, sorting out SEO at a higher level. Because the damolade consulting team is very connected to what content people are looking for, their team has also even written blogs for us on occasion.
Now, we’re continuing to optimize the site and work on SEM with her. She uses SEMrush to manage her work.
What is the team composition?
Through the last year and a half, Danielle (Principal & Senior Digital Strategist, damolade consulting) has been our main point of contact. She brings in blog writing and copyediting resources to supplement her work.
How did you come to work with damolade consulting?
They were recommended to me by a senior leader on our staff. We spoke with them and a few other consulting companies, but Danielle was able to understand our goals and current position quickly and holistically. She also had experience working with smaller companies. That was helpful because we’re a charity with fewer in-house resources than private companies of comparable sizes.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When we brought damolade consulting in, we were on the third page of search results just for our name. That was due to our counterpart sister organization who has been posting hundreds of pieces of content for decades. Once we brought her in, she was able to conduct a brand assessment and get both of our teams up and running on Google Search Console. That was totally outside the scope of work I would’ve expected from her.
Through that and her other work, our respective websites show up for the correct terms. We are now consistently the first result for our name and key terms. That all happened in six months.
How did damolade consulting perform from a project management standpoint?
damolade consulting is in daily contact with another member on my team. I’ve only heard good things about her ability to communicate effectively or in a timely manner. They use Trello to handle the projects.
What did you find most impressive about them?
From our bare-bones website, damolade consulting created something that was supremely optimized. I asked another SEO professional to take a look at their work, and he was very impressed with everything they had done. I deferred to that because my expertise in SEO isn’t super great.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t really think of much.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They have many clients and projects that are constantly moving forward. However, Danielle is very organized and can handle all of our tasks.

damolade consulting provided digital marketing and SEO strategy for a couple of client engagements. One of our clients had a content writer who wasn’t experienced in looking at marketing needs holistically, so damolade consulting helped write content for the website. They also worked with that writer and provided high-level strategy on targeting certain audiences for the launch.

Their project management was excellent. They raised issues and flags early about anything that would impede our schedule. They were also great at executing the work itself.

They were great at communication. When we were estimating the scope of work, damolade consulting was thoughtful, responsive, and realistic. I was confident that they would get the work done promptly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
Utilizing Google Search Console to specify key terms for different branches of the same business, the team was able to get their partner to consistently show as the top-ranking search result for their company name. Enthusiastic, expert external opinions prove the value of the partnership.
