Introduce your business and what you do there.
We're the Sligo County Childcare Committee. We’re part of a national group in every county in Ireland, and we’re an intermediary and link between the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and parents. I work in administration as a receptionist and I also take care of the online platforms.
What business challenge were you trying to address with Creation Media?
We had a WordPress website that was set up before, but it was never professionally done. The functionality wasn't very good and we struggled to make updates or any kind of imagery — it just wasn't very appealing for the sector that we're in.
We then sought the services of Creation Media to design and develop a better website for us.
What was their scope of involvement?
Creation Media designed, developed, and upgraded our website. We initially told them what we wanted and for every step, we verified their deliverables. They designed everything and we even let them take care of the imagery, which was perfect for us. The new website was built using a modern version of WordPress.
What was the team composition?
We worked with two people from their team. There was Philip (Owner) and another person who was working on the backend.
How did you come to work with Creation Media?
We actually met them through a referral from a mutual contact in the same sector. We saw their website and thought it looked very good, so we contacted Creation Media who then took us through the quotation process just to see what it would cost.
They met all our expectations and we were happy to proceed with them.
What is the status of engagement?
We worked together from December 2020–March 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re getting very good feedback on the website. Creation Media was professional throughout the partnership, and they engaged us very well. It's been an absolute pleasure working with them. Their follow-up on us was brilliant and whenever we had any issues, they were quick to deal with them.
We had a backend issue in regards to the Google analytics, so I reached out to Philip via email and he got back to us straight away.
How did Creation Media perform from a project management standpoint?
They performed very well. We gave them a timeline to work with and they were spot on so the project was delivered on time and within our budget. For the initial setup, we used a tool to show the layout and track the project progress, and we typically communicated via emails and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It would be hard to compare them with their competitors because this was my first time setting up a website. However, they were professional and great with their work. Everything that we required was done within the timelines so we were happy about that.
Are there any areas that they could improve?
Currently, we do not have any complaints. Let’s see how things go in the future but as it stands, we don't have any issues with them.
Any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear about what you want to achieve and communicate it to them. Have the information that you want them to work on ready just to avoid any kind of delays.
I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs their services in this field.
