The Cream Group
Creamfields is the biggest dance music festival in Europe. It has grown year on year and now reaches as far afield as Argentina, Australia, Malta and Chile, as well as five major sites across China.
Corporation Pop has been front and centre as Creamfields’ global brand guardians since 2008; designing everything globally from branding, festival campaigns and websites to record album sleeves, UK tours and one-off special projects such as the size? x adidas x Cream trainer collabaration.
In 2017 we celebrated a win at the Big Chip awards with the prize for Best B2C Business Project for the Creamfields website, a gong that we’re rightly proud of and that sits amongst our raft of other trophies.

Dazzle It (14-18NOW)
14-18 NOW commissioned Corporation Pop to develop a mobile app that could create designs in Augmented Reality (AR) in remembrance of the British “Dazzle Ships.” The mobile app took Dazzle Art out of conventional gallery space and on to a mobile platform. The result of Corporation Pop’s work was widespread press coverage including The Guardian, Wired, and BBC Online.

Channel4
Channel 4 have come to Corporation Pop on a number of occasions because they value our approach to using new and innovative technology and they love our creative approach.
From Grand Designs, Channel 4 Racing and their Paralympic Games coverage, to their Ramadan microsite, and a Twitter tracker for prime time shows, they’ve relied on us to deliver their vision at the same time as pushing the boundaries in the relationship between TV and tech.
We’ve helped make viewers’ experiences more engaging and interactive by employing the power of social media, the insights of sentiment gauges, the skills of artists and the vision of architects, and delivered it through as broad a scope of platforms as possible.

Festival Republic (Live Nation)
Corporation Pop designs, builds, hosts and manages scalable websites for some of the country’s biggest music festivals including Creamfields (for which we have been brand global brand guardians since 2008), Reading & Leeds, Download, Latitude, Wireless and Electric Picnic.
The websites are capable of handling high demand at critical times, such as artist announcements and festival weekends, and sit on our self-scaling AWS infrastructure, which we designed specifically to respond instantly to sharp increases in traffic.
Sharing a functional Wordpress core they retain their individual looks and allow content teams a perfect platform to update time-specific content wherever they are and whenever they need to.

M-Care
Health Education England (HEE) with Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) commissioned Corporation Pop to build a suite of resources for school children which included VR, AR, educational games and 3D body system fly-through videos.
The goal was to teach vital information included in the national curriculum and encourage children to consider a career in the health and care sector. Everything was co-designed with users, so testing and feedback were vital.
We created four VR work experiences which put children in the middle of healthcare settings. There they discovered first hand some of the tasks staff such as paramedics, GPs, pharmacists, radiologists, and home carers undertake on a daily basis.
Next we built three 3D fly through videos taking students on a journey through the digestive, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems. Each was fully labelled and narrated so users gained a full appreciation.
In addition we built AR models of the heart, skeleton and digestive system which children could examine by rotating and zooming in.
Finally, we designed and built twelve games of varying difficulty which helped cement the learnings from the rest of the suite of products.

Electric Gamebox
Electric Gamebox has reinvented the video game putting players at the heart of the action and Corporation Pop was invited to build their latest game, Trivia Mashup.
Using projection mapping, touch screens, motion tracking and surround sound we delivered a range of games set in outer space and hosted by a dual personality, double headed robot.
A keen focus on user interface whilst designing the game and brand made Trivia Mashup incredibly engaging, simple to use and easily accessible.
We worked closely with our clients and stretched the limits of their SDK to produce an exceptional and immersive game show experience that’s loved by players in the UK and across America and stretches the boundaries of competition.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the website product manager at Walk the Plank, an outdoor event specialist.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
We had a series of 10 nationwide events that we needed to market and attract participants.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Corporation Pop developed a website for our nationwide event series to attract participants. We went through a thorough definition process where we scoped out the project. Corporation Pop's team also collaborated with our branding partner so they could fully understand our brand. The site's primary functions included participant registration and event descriptions — Corporation Pop developed a different page for each event. There are site pages dedicated to recruitment and post-event information.
What is the team composition?
I've worked with the project manager and designer every week, but I have also contacted Corporation Pop's developers.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
I looked at the top-ranked digital agencies in the UK and wanted to work with a company in northern England. We shortlisted 4–5 agencies and requested presentations. We whittled the list down until we hired Corporation Pop.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested £130,000 (approximately $170,000 USD) with Corporation Pop.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Corporation Pop began in June 2021, and it's ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I don't have any specific metrics, but the website has been a huge marketing success. We've been able to fill up every event.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
Corporation Pop has very clear communication and sticks to our schedule and budget. We use Google Sheets and use Basecamp to manage the project. Every week, we have Zoom meetings with Corporation Pop.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Corporation Pop is very creative and experienced, filling us with confidence in their work. They haven't disappointed our initial high expectations.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing for Corporation Pop to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Customers shouldn't hesitate to hire Corporation Pop.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Healthy You Ltd, a psychology practice offering a range of solutions to support the mental health of individuals and organizations.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
We needed someone to design and develop the UI/UX of our app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They created a prototype for our app called Mind Yourself and helped us understand how an idea can be developed into a functioning product, focusing on the UX aspect of the product.
They tailored the app to cater specifically to the healthcare industry and made suggestions to improve the app up until the final iteration of the design.
Apart from the development of the app, they came up with the design of the logo, as well as the color scheme.
What is the team composition?
I mainly worked with Jeremy (Digital Project Specialist), Pooja (UX Designer), and the owner of the company.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
Corporation Pop was recommended to me by a friend.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested about £28,000 (approximately $36,500 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from October 2021–February 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve shown this product to a range of people within the healthcare industry and they’ve been quite impressed with it, citing its accessibility and ease of navigation.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
They were fantastic from a project management standpoint as they were always available to us whenever we needed them. They always came on budget and on time, and I believe we got more than what we paid for.
We managed the entire project on Basecamp and conducted our weekly meetings virtually.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We like that they held our hand throughout the entire process and we never felt like we were just a number or product to them.
Corporation Pop really believed in what we were trying to achieve and had a vested interest in getting the best possible outcomes.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would’ve been useful to know the exact timelines for the entire project at the beginning but other than that, I can’t think of anything they need to improve on — everything was brilliant.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I advise you to develop your ideas a bit more before engaging with Corporation Pop so they can have a clearer direction and save more time.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the VP of content at Electric Gamebox, an immersive gaming concept that is rapidly scaling up.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
We created all of our games by our in-house team, but we wanted to branch out and begin working with a third-party studio.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Corporation Pop developed a game for our platform using Unity. We provided them with a software development kit, design documents, and a project brief. Corporation Pop's team then turned our initial design into an immersive experience — their team created the artwork and sound and game design. Since they were our first third-party game developer to release a game on our behalf, Corporation Pop provided a lot of feedback on our development kit.
We project the game Corporation Pop developed onto the walls in our game rooms. The game interaction features use Lidar touch and motion detection sensors on the wall. Players also wear visors with tracking sensors, and then those, combined with the other sensors, create an immersive and interactive experience.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 7–8 teammates from Corporation Pop, including Dan (Managing Director), Stuart (Software Engineer), Jeremy (Projects Director), Peter (Unity Developer), James (Lead Unity Developer), and Pooja (Interaction Designer).
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
We found Corporation Pop through a referral — we were introduced to them about six months before kicking off the project. We liked their approach, ideas, and team when we met with them. They seemed like a good fit for our project, so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested £42,500 (approximately $56,000 USD) with Corporation Pop, although our original budget was £40,000 (approximately $53,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership with Corporation Pop was from August 2021–March 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We've done a soft launch of the game in March 2022, and are just wrapping up the final stages of the project. Since the game just launched, we don't have any specific metrics. However, the game Corporation Pop delivered has received a 4.3 out of 5 rating from our users. Our user satisfaction target is 4.8 out of 5, and while we haven't quite hit that target, the game is clearly performing well.
Also, the feedback Corporation Pop provided on our SDK is extremely valuable to our company as we move forward in our partnerships with third-party studios. We are in talks with Corporation Pop about potential future projects.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
While Corporation Pop did go over budget, it wasn't a huge issue because we still stayed to our agreed timeline. Communication with Corporation Pop was excellent via Slack and Basecamp — we also used Google Suite and GitHub. They also managed the project well in Basecamp and were responsive to feedback when we provided it. Dan was very involved in the project, which was very helpful and contributed to its success.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Corporation Pop's creative flexibility was terrific. They can cover a broad range of platforms and projects, which displays their company's technical and creative skillsets. Corporation Pop's team clearly cares a lot about the projects they're working on. It's been great to work with a company with a desire to understand the end user and create an appropriate experience for them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We went over budget quite quickly, but we already discussed that with Corporation Pop, and they know that for the next project, they need to space out spending from the start. However, because this was our first project with them, we weren't worried about everything going perfectly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I'd advise any future customers to have an active conversation with Corporation Pop to determine what they can bring to the table.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of a group of nursery schools.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
We needed help with app development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re creating our platform, which is a framework for teachers. They were given specific requirements, and are tasked with delivering on my vision. They’re building the app on iOS and Android.
What is the team composition?
I work with Nigel (Operations Director), Dan (Creative Director), Martin (Design Lead), Stuart (Software Engineer), and Kristy (Scrum Master). Nigel and Dan are my main points of contact.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
They were recommended to me. I considered 3–4 other partners but it was clear from the first call that they would be a good fit for us.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2020, and our work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’re really fantastic. The team is professional and on time. The way the team works together has made it one of the most rewarding professional relationships I’ve ever had. They implemented my ideas very well.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Basecamp and monday.com for project management. Our collaboration works like a steam train. Their feedback is really good. Kristy rocks at project management. We also half a team meeting every two weeks.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their clear communication stands out. They’ve always been very clear and reasonable with their pricing. Their level of professionalism allowed us to trust them very quickly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The person who sold us on their services wasn’t a part of the process all the way through. It would’ve been nice to know that the person who onboarded us wouldn’t be dealing with us going forward.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to do as much research as you can up front. Ask lots of questions in whatever you’re trying to develop so you can give Corporation Pop the best brief as possible.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
Universities are great at the high in the sky ideas, but struggle with the realities of bringing things to market. We identified Corporation Pop as a good service to deliver recommendations for the project.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped us to guide the transfer of knowledge. They put together a proposal for us that included discovery sites and coordinating student resources. The first part of the project was to work closely with the NHS Blood Transfusion services. The second part of the project was to take code that was disorganized, rework and organize said code, and then work out how to turn it into an app. We then worked to put the app in the App Store.
They then added and swapped out features and identified areas we could consider improvements for. We wanted to adjust the app for inflation and to fit with corporate American guidelines. They provided excellent clarity on this and guided us through the process.
The app assesses data and gives a score based upon our algorithms. They handled the movement of that algorithm from the app into the cloud. We wanted the decisions to happen in the cloud. The project was initially focused on one organ but was broadened to all organs. Then, the cloud creates a full data set with all of the information.
What is the team composition?
Nigel (Operations Director) was my main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
We were looking for someone with experience working in academia. It’s a closed network, so we needed someone to understand it. We talked to a few firms. Corporation Pop is based in Manchester, has a good pedigree, and was responsive, so we went with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around £30,000 (approximately $41,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from December 2019 to September 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They didn’t create barriers in complexity. They’re clear and never overburdened us with technical jargon. The information they gave was quickly understood. They were incredibly easy to work with.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
They probably underestimated that the professors involved did not want to engage with them. They weren’t getting the information they needed. Professors weren’t importing things to BaseCamp, causing them problems. They quickly adjusted and accommodated the different workflows of the professors. It meant more work for them, but they did it. Their ability to adopt a different style of project management on the fly was impressive.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They really wanted to understand what we were trying to do. They were incredibly friendly, and we didn’t feel any uncomfortable corporateness about them. It didn’t feel like we were being squeezed by salespeople — they were honest and transparent from the start.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could have done a slightly longer plan of what the further steps would be. The team’s expertise isn’t app development, so there were blindsides. They did have an excellent sense of learning going on, though.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t get in their way. Don’t complicate it.

Database & Portal Development for Hospital
"Their flexibility and professionalism stand out, along with the high quality of the end product."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the Chief of Staff (Group Medical Director’s Team) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. We are a large teaching hospital in the United Kingdom.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
Our group of hospitals gives out Clinical Excellence Awards for consultant medical staff. Staff members apply each year for the award, and, if selected, they earn a financial bonus. Due to some recent changes in the way they are awarded, we engaged Corporation Pop to build an electronic solution.
We used to be a smaller organization, so we could administer this process manually, but we recently merged two hospital trusts. Because we now have a much larger cohort of consultants and a larger potential number of applicants, we needed a way to manage this electronically so that the process would be more streamlined. Further, we wanted to make it easier for consultants to apply for the awards.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We relied on Corporation Pop to build a database that housed all of the completed applications. Additionally, they created an online portal where consultants could apply for the awards and where our group of judges or scorers could access those entries.
We worked closely with Corporation Pop to design the application form and the portal. They were able to implement a validation process where an automated email is sent to an applicant’s manager or director to review the form. That person can confirm that it’s a fair reflection of the consultant’s work. If the opposite is true, they make that note, and a second email is sent to facilitate a meeting between the consultant and manager to discuss the reasons why. Our scorers can access the pool of applications from any desktop device and then assign the appropriate number of points to each entry.
What is the team composition?
We communicate mostly with Sally (Project Lead, Corporation Pop) and one of their technical engineers.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
They came highly recommended from our research and innovation team, who had worked with them in the past.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement began in December 2018 and remains ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Corporation Pop helped us meet our strict timeline at the end of 2018, and we are excited to be improving the portal now so that we can launch the second round of applications in November 2019. They met all of our success criteria in terms of getting our award process off the ground.
We received some very good feedback from consultants who have used the portal to apply and the users who use the portal to do the scoring. Without this product, our 40 scorers would have had to deal with reams upon reams of paper, so this portal made the judging process far easier for them.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
I hadn’t worked with Basecamp before, but we utilized that tool well. It kept all of our correspondence and documents in one place so that we were always up to date on their progress. From a project management point of view, they were very professional.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their flexibility and professionalism stand out, along with the high quality of the end product.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we worked well together.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’d recommend meeting with them and outlining your requirements. They’re very willing to explore various solutions.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm a director of MeYouandUs, a creative technology arts company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
When we hired Corporation Pop, we were putting together a team to address a governmental Department of Transport Innovation problem. We were particularly interested in their AR capabilities.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our project focuses on integrating AR experiences on moving passenger trains, which posed a variety of different challenges. Corporation Pop is developing a platform for the AR technology itself as well as the AR content to showcase.
Firstly, they combined several existing approaches and create new ones to solve the issue of putting AR content on a moving platform like a train carriage. Subsequently, we tasked them with building creative assets we could use to showcase that technology.
Corporation Pop has built a prototype of our product for mobile so far. It’s designed for Android, which offers the most efficient development platform for iterating. They completed every step in the process of AR content creation, from creating artwork to making 3D models. They're building everything from scratch.
What is the team composition?
We work with six people from Corporation Pop. Our main point of contact, Stuart (Project Manager, Corporation Pop) handles our account. Rather than having just one liaison, our interaction was agile and transparent. We worked with resources across the team and spoke directly to the most skilled person who could answer each of our questions. There was no gatekeeping in our correspondence.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
We considered 2–3 other vendors. Since we're in the creative industry, we have clear visibility on local options in our area of the northwest U.K. We hired Corporation Pop based on a combination of our knowledge of their past work and recommendations from people we know.
Based on our technical requirements, Corporation Pop had the requisite strength of creative leadership. Beyond technology, innovation is at the core of our entire project. They were a perfect fit in that respect.
How much have you invested with them?
In total, the project will cost about 140,000 (approximately $183,000 USD)
What is the status of this engagement?
We're coming to the end of the project at this point. We've been working together for about a year, since January 2018. We'll be ready to deliver about a month from now.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since our engagement is a government-funded innovation project, we have some straightforward contractual constraints requirements to fulfill. For example, the team helped us conduct a public test of the prototype on a live train carriage. We’re not basing this engagement on any direct commercial metrics. Instead, we’re more focused on research and development.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management has been entirely transparent. They felt like an extension of our team. We used a couple of tools for communication including Basecamp and Slack. In addition, we held meetings regularly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team stands apart from all the web development and AR partners we've used before within the creative technology sector. Corporation Pop is an incredibly strong technical company that puts creativity at the heart of everything they do. We share their value for balancing innovation and technology. Their balance of these two skills struck us as quite rare. Usually, competitors only have one or the other. Their intertwined strengths are exceptionally rare.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No; we're all learning together. I can only give them praise, really.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Corporation Pop put their heart and soul into our project. It genuinely feels like we're all continuously on the same page.

Mobile App and Web Portal Dev for a Video Production Agency

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the COO of The Creative, a creative production agency. We create social media content for brands and work with influencers. We do videos, photography, graphics, and more.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
We were looking for someone to develop our mobile app and web portal. We wanted to build a user-generated content (UGC) application solution. The software solution enables the brand to engage with their audience to create cool UGC content. This adds value for the consumer as well as for the brand because they get all the insight and content as well.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We engaged with them to build the app, the backend, and the platform.
We had already defined our consumer and B2B client audiences, and we shortlisted the critical features for each of these audience segments and for each platform across the app and the portal. They took care of all of the visual design, the design in the app itself, and building the app. The portal and API stack were built using Laravel and the authentication player is handled by Laravel Passport.
It’s a native mobile app for iOS and Android. They built the backend web portal so that we could use as a CMS for the app. It also provides a login for clients to be able to log in and get those insights around the content and social metrics.
It’s a video editing app which we found throughout the process was not an easy thing to build. All of the content is held in our AWS cloud, and, although a lot of the processing is done on the device, once the content is completed, that content is then uploaded to our cloud. They implemented app to cloud to backend functionality as well.
The mobile app and backend platform allow users use to combine their own clips with professional footage and ready-made templates. Then, they can share that film on their social channels. We receive that content, and we share the content with the brand so that the brand can get insight into how that content is used and see the success metrics of that content across their social channels.
What is the team composition?
We had a core team of about five people, and there was an extended development team with an additional 5–6 developers as well. We had a project manager/technical lead who was our main point of contact, and throughout the process, they called in additional people when needed.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
Clutch played a factor in us finding and selecting them. We went through a tender process with about 10 agencies. Then, we shortlisted our top four. Corporation Pop won the pitch process.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent around £300,000 (approximately $387,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2017, and it’s an ongoing relationship.
The MVP launch was about seven months, and we launched on Android three months later. We’re still working with them on additional features, bug fixing, testing, etc.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The timing of our deliverables was the main driver because we had commitments with clients and suppliers. We had three milestones where we wanted the products in a certain state to enable us to effectively do user testing. We also had a couple of launch test events. All of those milestones were driving the quality of the build. We always had a build when we needed to.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
They were great. It was an agile process. We worked together from multiple documents. We used Basecamp for our main communication. Our project manager was available 24 hours a day. We had weekly check-ins, but we usually spoke daily. They were always available and always responsive. At the end of the process, we used Jira. It was a collaborative process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re extremely focused, attentive to detail, responsive, and open to collaboration.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They weren’t firm enough with us in terms of doing what was asked of the product. We put goals in place, and, in hindsight, it would have been helpful if they had told us what the impact of doing it that way would have been in the overall development process. They had to drop things in order to scramble to meet the deadline. We pushed them hard, and they tried to deliver everything we asked them to deliver, but we would have benefitted from their counsel. It wasn’t that we didn’t get strategic guidance from them, but they could have been firmer with us. We talked about this at length with them and they accept this as well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They have been great. They are exceptionally friendly and personable. They have their client’s best interest at heart and want to deliver the best possible work.
Agree on the strategic imperatives upfront and make sure everyone sticks to them. If there are any concerns, voice them early on.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
The company is MRB Sports Hub. I’m the CEO.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
We’re developing a series of sports network apps.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Corporation Pop took the project from ideation and will take care of the development as well. They’ve handled the branding which turned out fantastic and they’ve designed the way it looks and feels. They finished the prototype for me and will be working on the iOS and Android app soon. They used Apache Cordova to build the app in order to keep the price down. They were very flexible and we have no complaints about the result.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
I contacted a few developers to get an idea of the price. I contacted one company that was too expensive, but they gave me some names of some companies they’d worked with who were really good. I called Corporation Pop and told them my idea which they seemed really keen on. I went in for a meeting and saw that their offices are really nice. They showed me other projects they had worked on, which were all fantastic. They seemed open to suggestions and wanted to work with me. They were reasonable on price as well. They started working on the project the next week.
How much have you invested with Corporation Pop?
We spent £40,000 [US $ 51,504].
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2016, and the prototype was finished in April 2017.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
We’ve gotten good feedback so far from people in the market who are interested in the product. They say it looks great. It hasn’t been released to the public yet, though.
How did Corporation Pop form from a project management standpoint?
They’re fantastic. They kept me updated every week. If there was something I needed that was going to delay the project and go over the budget, they weren’t bothered. They’re more passionate about the project than about saving time. It ended up helping the final design.
What did you find most impressive about Corporation Pop?
From the moment they started, the project was based on user experience. They create the app based on what the user would want. Everything they did was focused on the user, which I think is fantastic.
Are there any areas Corporation Pop could improve?
No. Everything has been fine. I have no complaints.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Cream is based in Liverpool and operates in the live and electronic music sector. We deliver festivals, concerts, and events throughout the UK, Europe, and further afield. Creamfields is our major UK festival, with 70,000 people attending each year. My role is Head of Digital and Creative. I’m responsible for everything from our web development and design through to the look and feel of the festivals and shows we put on.
What challenge were you trying to address with Corporation Pop?
I have been working with Corporation Pop for some years now. The most recent challenge has been a complete redesign of our main festival website creamfields.com, which we had outgrown. It needed a refresh. Aside from being three years out of date, the site was confusing for users to navigate. Information was lost on third and fourth level pages. We also wanted the update for commercial reasons: to sell more tickets. That was the challenge and the brief I sent them for our latest project.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The new website is based on WordPress since our previous sites were on WordPress and it works well for us. Because of the amount of content added, we were keen on keeping the same content management system. Rather than look for a new CMS, we wanted to retain the backend our editors are familiar with. It used to be based on an Apache web server, but crashed every time we launched the festival lineup. That was one of the other challenges—making sure that the website stayed up. Corporation Pop shifted the host and platform across to NGINX, which was much more stable. They also looked at tech setups, going from a single dedicated server to a couple of distributed servers with a low balance between them.
Corporation Pop has become an extension of the team. They still do work on our web graphics, poster design, print design, web banners, and main campaign artwork and creative. We have some in-house staff that does artwork rollout, but the creative comes from Corporation Pop.
How did you come to work with Corporation Pop?
It was through a recommendation. We were looking for companies to pitch, and the reference came up with a name we should be talking to. We are based in Liverpool and they are in Manchester, so they are handy geographically. We put out the artwork to pitch to four agencies at the time. Corporation Pop won the pitch and then pitched again three years in a row. After those three years, we ended up not bothering with the pitch process because they understood our needs. We decided to build a relationship with them. It’s like having an extended business partner rather than having to go out and re-pitch and recommission somebody every year. We found an agency that just got what we were doing, saving us a lot of time.
How much have you invested with Corporation Pop?
It’s been over £250,000 pounds [over $312,275].
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Corporation Pop from a graphic design perspective nine years ago. That relationship has continued.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I think the starkest, factual recent example is the uplift in ticket sales of creamfields.com. Web traffic has been up 30% year-on-year. Our sales have a similar uplift. Obviously, there’s marketing activity, but a large part of that is due to the development of the new site and the services they delivered. Corporation Pop have been helpful with the technical side of things, helping us to deal with challenges. We tend to get hit with lots of traffic all at once in a couple of periods throughout the year. Just recently, they helped us manage a peak season without any issues, which is great. When we set a brief or ask for a project, if I’m not happy with it I get back to them. They would work on it until we are happy with it.
How did Corporation Pop perform from a project management standpoint?
It’s been interesting because the design relationship is quite different from the web relationship. It’s quite informal. I work closely with Dan, their Creative Director, on the design side of things. We rarely send a written brief these days; it tends to be a quick phone call.
We tend to have things jump on us quite unpredictably. While other agencies weren't able to manage quick deadlines, Corporation Pop pulls out all the stops and makes sure it happens.
During the web project, which was our first time working on a web design project with them, it was a case of learning their tools and raising tickets and working to an Agile design methodology. There was more of a process to it, and that suited the project well. However, they adapt the way they work, depending on the project. From a design point of view, it’s very informal because of their nine years of experience with us. On the web side of things, they were agile. I’d raise a ticket with a request, and it would be answered within a few days. I was happy with the way it was managed.
What did you find most impressive about Corporation Pop?
They are so personable and friendly. They really do not feel like just an agency. They pull in favors occasionally, such as working late when we’ve got a deadline. They’re always ready to make sure what we’re delivering is what they’re delivering. Dan comes to our festival every year, so he has an intimate knowledge of what the festival is about. For me, that’s going over and above. I don’t know whether there are many design creative directors who’d come to a festival to see that they’re still delivering in terms of the artwork and so on. That’s the difference. Dan and I became friends over the years outside of work, so there’s a good relationship there.
Are there any areas Corporation Pop could improve?
To be honest with you, no, or I would be looking for another agency. I’m genuinely happy with them.
The website has been a huge marketing success for the client — they've filled every event. Corporation Pop communicates clearly and adheres to the client's budget and timeline. The partners use Google Sheets and Basecamp to manage the project. They also have weekly Zoom meetings.
