Purposeful. Powerful. Positive.
At Cornell we are obsessed with all things brand. However every brand is different and one-size-fits-all is no fit at all. We create brands that demand attention. We unleash the challengers, revamp the established, hype up the underachievers and supercharge the ambitious. We give purpose to them all. We shape our process to suit your needs – combining sharp strategic thinking, simple ideas, and striking execution. Let’s get to work.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the director and co-founder of Big Games Machine. We are a UK-based agency specialising in work with companies drawn from, or targeting, the global games industry. We work with a broad range of B2C games publishers and developers, and B2B technology companies and platforms, delivering engaging, effective content, PR, social media, creative and digital services.
For what projects/services did your company hire Cornell Creative Consulting?
We used Sean and his team to take a fresh look at our whole positioning and brand proposition. As a smaller agency in a highly competitive field, we needed a brand identity that is not only distinct and easy to understand but which visually reflected our values and what the agency is about.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I had worked with Sean previously and so was already familiar with the quality and effectiveness of his work.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We went through a root and branch review of our positioning, through internal discovery sessions, staff interviews and customer feedback. Sean and his team then came up with 6 or 7 initial creative routes, which were narrowed down over a number of weeks to the final choice. From this, Sean delivered materials for branded assets such as business cards and the new corporate identity, as well as concepts for a new website.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked closely with Stuart Andrews on the brand proposition and directly with Sean on all of the creative and design.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The new positioning and branding has helped us massively clarify the way we communicate the value and work we deliver to our clients. It's been fundamental to us being able to attract new business into the agency by adding real differentiation from established agencies that have dull or outdated identities, and I'd go as far as saying the work Sean has done for us has helped the business achieve its best growth period since we started it back in 2014.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We did weekly update calls, plus ad-hoc discussions and feedback sessions as required. Sean and Stuart were always available if we had questions.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Sean's experience and strong design skills shine through.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not really - I only wish we had had a bigger budget to get Sean to extend the work he did for us right across the agency's communications.

I am the CEO of an e-commerce business specialising in the sale and distribution of antiviral products and an online travel testing company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Cornell Creative Consulting?
As a start-up business, operating in a new and very competitive market, we required everything from brand development through to collateral design and production.
How did you select this vendor?
I worked with Sean some years ago through another agency, so for us, it was an obvious choice to use him and Cornell Creative for this project.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
For each business, we undertook a series of scoping meetings and Sean quickly developed a number of exciting brand concepts which we used as the basis for the brand, web and collateral development. Cornell Creative also worked with us to better understand and facilitate the customer journey to create brand loyalty and trust.
What was the team composition?
I worked closely with Sean throughout this process. He also interfaced with and confidently managed other freelancers who I had engaged (web developer and digital marketing).
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
As a start-up company operating in a challenging and competitive market, we knew that business growth would not be easy. Through working with Cornell Creative, we were able to launch quickly and have established ourself as a credible brand in the markets in which we operate, enjoying significant revenue growth with happy and returning customers!
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Sean is incredibly responsive and very good at ensuring that I was kept updated on progress, without being overbearing. All projects were undertaken through remote working and this has had no impact whatsoever on the quality of output. Projects were consistently delivered on time and to budget.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The quality of Cornell Creative Consulting's output is consistently high standard. Sean has a real empathy with his clients and an exceptional understanding of what they are looking to achieve and how to create brands and collateral which are impactful. He also has a unique understanding of commercial drivers and the need for design and marketing to drive business growth.
His approach is incredibly flexible and adaptive. He is a self-starter and I know, each and every time that I can brief him and he will just "get on with it", delivering exactly what I was looking for!
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
I have been really happy with the service that Cornell Creative have provided and cannot identify any area for improvement. I know that if there was anything at any point which did arise as an issue, I would be comfortably be able to raise this with them.

To create a stand-out website and some memorable branding

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The website needed starting from scratch, I had a few ideas of what I wanted it to look like but needed guidance. Sean and I spoke on the phone initially and then we met up on Microsoft Teams about once a week to catch up in between ideas emails.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Just one - Sean
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
It's still very new but the main feedback I have received on the business so far, apart from the actual concept, is how professional and slick the website looks. Almost everyone I have been in touch with regarding the business has mentioned how lovely it looks and how easy it is to use.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Everything was done quickly and simply - nothing was ever any trouble for Sean. Any questions I had were answered clearly and he guided me through it seamlessly.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Sean turned my ideas into something even better than I could have imagined. I had something in my head originally which he didn't try to change - he just picked out the best bits and put a cooler, more stylish stamp on them.
He didn't try to change my mind on anything, he didn't try to edit the concept of the business or any copy, he just made my brand look amazing and the end result both of the website and the branding was ten times better than what I originally had in my head. The functionality of the website is exactly what I wanted - clear, slick and simple - and the extra advice he gave me for future plans was gratefully received.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
None.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm a broadcast television presenter. Self Employed.
For what projects/services did your company hire Cornell Creative Consulting, and what were your goals?
I needed a complete overhaul and rebrand of my profile website, which is the main vehicle for my online presence. I needed this website to represent my brand as I occasionally gain contracts through it.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I was made aware of Cornell Creative through word of mouth (and have subsequently recommended them on to others for further work). When I met with Sean, he was very easy to work with, had a very positive can-do attitude and really listened to the project objectives that were important to me.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
After an initial meeting to discuss the project, the website design work was commenced very quickly and I was regularly kept up to date with the progress. When items, content and decisions were needed from me, I was given more than adequate notice and felt very supported in my decision making. Wix was used as the key website builder platform as this meant I would easily be able to manage the content after the initial build. I was also shown very comprehensively how to achieve this.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Just one. The founder.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The project was finished on time and to budget. I was delighted with the fresh look and feel that the website gave. Its functionality and UX was perfect and had been built so that it would be very easy for me to manage moving forwards. My contacts have increased by 100% easily since having the website.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
I felt very supported through the process both creatively and administratively. I always felt like I was being listened to and worked collaboratively with. It was a genuine pleasure.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was amazed at how simple the process was made for me and how stunning the results were.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
My only disappointment early on was that it took a couple of weeks for us to have our kick off meeting as Cornell were so busy with other projects at the time.
