A mid-sized Danish IT consulting agency had tried several SEO agencies and freelancers. Still, the website rankings and organic traffic did not respond to any initiative; it was like the website was frozen into a fixed position.
It turned out that the main problem was a competitor, who had been doing negative SEO in terms of link bomb continuously over a few years. This was holding the agency’s website down and put it at risk of being penalised by Google for the aggressive flow of new low-quality links coming to the website.
