We hired Cool Digital Solutions for the development of our web-based application and the CMS to manage the platform. We are building this project to address the success stories of startups with the enterprises who are looking for solutions in a specific field. Our project needed an accomplished team to make it real so we thought it would be a good idea to reach out. When we had the first meeting, the project team was open for new ideas and was as thrilled as we were about the value we are creating. The project consists of a web application and its custom Content Management System (CMS). Web-app is where enterprise members can search for specific problems and see how it’s solved by other enterprises by the help of innovative startups. Also, the other way around, startups can get inspired by what’s being solved by other startups all over the world and how it’s done. We developed an AI-based engine that interprets the data and calculates matching scores of the enterprise’s query and startup’s value offering.

We are aware that users’ need for details might differ. To solve this, we are communicating the solution from different perspectives such as themes, news, evidence and solutions. These contents contain all details about the use case that the startup has created; from problem and solution to the PoC requirements and environmental impact of it. All content is prepared by the copywriters of Entrapeer and logged into the system using the custom-built CMS. Solution-seekers can schedule a call with the Entrapeer team or directly with the startup at one click. Submitted solutions and evidence must be verified by the relevant people; so it’s sent to verification and they shall be published after all sections are verified.

Another value proposition Entrapeer offers is the Cross-Pollination Reports. The Entrapeer team analyzes each evidence and defines the problems they might solve for other companies. Then they take the solution offerings to the enterprises that might benefit from it, which leads to new partnerships and great value for both sides.

There were 5 people in the team: a project manager, project manager assistant, two frontend developers, and a backend developer.

Beta version of the project went live very quickly and all elements were the same as we designed. We were able to add evidence and see our plans in action at each step. Thanks to that, we had a chance to work on the flow of the application and make it better for our first users.

We had periodical meetings with the technical team and the project management team, both together and separately. With burndown charts, we logged each task and made detailed time plans. This helped us to know what’s done and what’s coming, so we were able to make future plans easier.

They arranged calls whenever we had questions and feedback, and they took every comment seriously. We created a separate channel for writing down our requirements and they were all taken to the roadmap.

I am the Co-founder & CEO of Norma. Norma is a digital banking and financial management platform for Freelancers, Soletraders and Micro-SME's.

We work together in the development of our dashboard & web application. We are building an all-in-one financial services application for freelancers and small businesses. The platform also provides bookkeeping and financial management services for its users.

People who run their own business can use the platform for free. We gathered all financial services that a small business or entrepreneur will need at one place.

Our service is one of the first in Turkey and received investment from VC funds during the seed stage. Demonstrating the application and how it would work was crucial for us. Thanks to Cool Digital and their exceptional support, we were able to communicate our value offering at its best.

Cool Digital’s Project team joined our product meetings and adapted very quickly to our workflow. We used Clickup for Project management and also set up Daily stand-up meetings. All questions were answered and all tasks were delivered on time.

They looked at the application from different perspectives, so that the end users from different segments had a smooth experience. I am one of the co-founders of a social media product. I am working as the Product Manager. We are 3 co-founders in this project.

1.  Creators who wish to increase their income but not willing to make paid promotion through content.
2. Fans who want to reach exclusive content created by their favorite influencers and are willing to pay for it.
3. Newbies who want to become influencers of the future. The app contains live streaming and media upload options for creators. Each creator sets their own subscription price. We crated the “Room” concept to increase the interaction between creators and fans. At a creator’s room, fans can start general or content-specific threads to create deeper connections with the creator him/herself or the fan community. There’s a leaderboard where most-interacted creator takes the first place. When fans want to subscribe to a creator, they go to his/her profile and makes in-app payment to immediately see the exclusive content.

As we start talking about our idea, we also started developing it. From the first meeting until the end of the project, Cool Digital team was always supportive and enthusiastic. Together we created a smooth mobile application from scratch and seeing our idea become live is priceless. The team followed every step and were very accurate about time estimations.

We realized it’s a good and innovative use case for the automotive industry. So we gradually expanded the usage area and integrated the system into more and more dealerships. Today 11Sight is used to connect customers with brand representatives all over the country and expanding to other countries.

I met with whole team, they were creative and energetic. But we mostly work with Mr.Uslu and his team throughout the whole project. The team was compact but highly-efficient.

Well, if it weren’t them, probably my brand would not exist the way it exists right now. We are delivering the real value to our customers via our website and our customers love it. Our sales soared and we are going faster than we had forecasted.

Mr.Uslu was became my direct contact, and we were in touch all the time. He diligently answered my questions and patiently listened to my requirements. He managed his team pretty well and I experienced no problem.

They handled the project well and approached it as if it was their own product. When I realized that I had nothing to worry about.

There are always some points to improve. For example, the location of their office was not that easy to find. More central location can help them and their prospective customers.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a photo-sharing platform, which allows users to broadcast a picture or short video with text. It’s similar to public journalism, but more broad. I developed the company from the idea stage all the way to developing the prototype.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cool Digital Solutions?

I needed a partner who could help me actually build out the platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cool Digital Solutions helped me take the platform from an idea to a prototype. After our initial discussions, they immediately put together a small team, who presented me with a couple of design mockups for the frontend. Once I selected one, they got to work on building out the backend.

The team developed all the features, including mapping arrangements and other functionalities I required. The platform is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows, and Cool Digital Solutions also built out a website for my product.

Additionally, the team found and helped me prepare for a summit with only a few companies from Turkey participating. I was able to present my application at the summit, which helped me open up a global channel for my business. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with five people in total. We had one person in charge of the frontend design, as well as two others involved with backend development. I also had someone to assist me with the presentation, and the owner of the company who ran lead on the whole project.

How did you come to work with Cool Digital Solutions?

One of the founding partners of Cool Digital Solutions was a student of mine at university. I knew how he worked and that he was an entrepreneur, so I approached him to see if his company could help me with my project.

How much have you invested in them?

I spent around $200,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our initial discussions began in 2015. The actual work started in 2016, and I paused the idea in March 2019 because I decided to devote my investment with my other firm, so the project is on hold for now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the important things for me was that they delivered what I was looking for. We had some KPIs in terms of quarterly targets, and we achieved those targets on time and without issues. I was quite happy as their customer.

The platform is still there and when I am ready to invest again, we will recharge things. If I am going to do that, it will be with Cool Digital Solutions.

How did Cool Digital Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We were in touch every day for 10 or 15 minutes and they caught me up on what had been accomplished. They kept me in the loop constantly. It was done in a very agile way. I gave them a vision of what I wanted, and they were able to develop the whole thing from the concept. 

To keep in touch and track the project, we used WhatsApp and Trello. After a certain point, we decided phone calls were sufficient since we worked in the same location, so we didn’t feel a need for project management tools. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very effective in terms of communication and keeping me abreast of what was happening. I think that was the most important aspect of our engagement. They managed the project exceptionally, which made me very happy. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We could’ve done some things in a more structured format, but I know, especially in terms of a startup, the most important thing is to bring results rather than build a bureaucracy. Also, they could benefit from expanding more globally.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Describe what you want and involve Cool Digital Solutions as early as possible. They have their own ideas and they develop a lot of creativity internally. They provided me with ideas which have changed the concept of my product. They were able to expand on my original vision and broaden my product’s capabilities.
